2007-09-22 02:02:00
Horrific story. I cant see how a mother would be possibly able to do that. This is a cruel world. Simply glad he is healthy! Abandoned by his mother when he was a few hours old, Zack is extremely lucky to be alive. He was found in a bag wrapped in a single towel with his umbilical cord still attached. Attracted by his cries, residents discovered him in the garden of a house in Liverpool. They alerted police and the baby was taken to hospital. Be sure to stop by for more later...

Ahmadinejad still going to speak at Columbia...
2007-09-21 23:34:00
Now I am not making any predictions... but imagine, just imagine if someone assassinated him. I cant decide if that would be a good or bad thing. There is still a lot of haze in my mind about whether Iran is good or not. I definitely do not know enough but it feels to me like my government is screaming they are a threat and everyone seems confused. I am with Ron Paul on this though that Israel should be able to defend themselves. We need to stay out of this shit. Seriously there is nothing wrong with him speaking though.Ahmadinejad is scheduled to arrive September 24 to speak to the U.N. General Assembly, as the Security Council decides whether to increase sanctions against Iran for its uranium enrichment program. The Iranian leader will then speak at the school. Columbia spokesman Robert Hornsby said there was no plan to cancel the appearance.Be sure to stop by for more later...

The apple is rotting...
2007-09-21 21:25:00
Apple cant get anymore die-hard customers than it already has... so what is it doing? It is squeezing every cent ruthlessly from its customers. I feel for those fan-boys. I will never give into the shiny coolness of an iPod or iPhone. Just isn't me. I am a happy PC boy in and out. Though this Linux business intrigues me.That's Apple, your socially-conscious corporate friend, who does right by you while standing up to big bullies -- sort of like a character from a Pixar movie. But over the past two weeks, Apple's fans have been grumbling that the company they knew and loved is transforming into another Microsoft, making short-sighted, anti-consumer decisions and carelessly releasing products with user experience-diminishing problems. In response, an increasingly angry erosion of Apple's brand loyalty is beginning, with complaints mounting all over the Internet, including on the company's own discussion forums. This time, it's not just a cadre of Microsoft fans trying to ano ...

11 Rules from Bill Gates...
2007-09-21 20:38:00
I think the world of Bill Gates... there are very few people in this world who could possibly deserve and do good with such success... but he is one. Here are his 11 points:Rule 1 : Life is not fair - get used to it! Rule 2 : The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself. Rule 3 : You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both. Rule 4 : If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. Rule 5 : Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity. Rule 6 : If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them. Rule 7 : Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk abo ...

Famed Hobbit bones revealed to be human-like...
2007-09-21 03:22:00
But what came first... the chicken or the egg?Sept. 20, 2007 — Scientists, wringing their hands over the identity of the famed "hobbit" fossil, have found a new clue in the wrist. Since the discovery of the bones in Indonesia in 2003, researchers have wrangled over whether the find was an ancient human ancestor or simply a modern human suffering from a genetic disorder. Now, a study of the bones in the creature's left wrist lends weight to the human ancestor theory, according to a report in Friday's issue of the journal Science.Be sure to stop by for more later...

O'Reilly: Tasered UF student "biggest wimp in the United States of America"
2007-09-21 01:14:00
I don't even need to give my opinion about O'Reilly... he does such a good job of making himself detestful to any normal person.During the September 18 edition of his Fox News television show, while discussing the recent incident involving University of Florida student Andrew Meyer, who was shocked with a Taser after a confrontation with police that began while he was asking questions of Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) during a September 17 campus forum, Bill O'Reilly asserted: "I've been tasered for a story, and all I can say is: He is the biggest wimp in the United States of America." O'Reilly added: "And I don't say that with any kind of bravado, but the overreaction to being tasered -- it's not -- it's an electrical shock is what it is." Also, only moments after showing a video clip of Meyer being shocked, during which the he cried out, "Don't tase me, bro. Don't tase me," O'Reilly stated: "It's not pleasant, but that idiot, he wanted this to happen. He wanted the cops to do it. ...
