Japanese Atlantis: 5,000 year old city beneath the sea.
2007-09-22 14:41:00
This is really cool to see... but what about the real Atlantis! :(A city lies dormant, deserted and forgotten. Submerged beneath the ocean off Yonaguni Jima is a Japanese Atlantis—an ancient city sunk by an earthquake about 2,000 years ago, according to marine geologist Masaaki Kimura.Be sure to stop by for more later... ...
Castro mocks rumors of his death in TV interview...
2007-09-22 14:33:00
You never know what people could plan or tape something like this planning to fake people out. I don't know... it just seems fishy to me. I want to believe that he is alive as this insists but I am just not sure. Poor Perez. This is not looking good. But apart from laughing off rumors of his death, Castro offered no details about his health, much less whether he might return to power. "Well, here I am ... nobody knows when they will die," Castro said in the interview, which interrupted regular television programming. The lack of pictures of the veteran revolutionary leader since June 5 had fueled a flood of speculation about his health and possible death. "He is dying, he is dead, he will die the day after tomorrow," Castro said, summing up the frenzy of rumors over his condition.Be sure to stop by for more later... ...
Pacific Northwest meets New York!
2007-09-22 14:27:00
Nice.....NEW YORK — Anyone walking into the cavernous restaurant on a Midtown Manhattan corner can't miss the flotilla of copper-glazed salmon figurines that hang from the ceiling in perpetual spawn. The flying salmon are complemented by an assortment of oysters, shrimp, mussels, all laid out on ice like vacationers lounging in the sand. All this, plus the name of the restaurant — Wild Salmon — makes it clear what this place is about. It's a seafood joint. But Wild Salmon is something else, too. It's a Pacific Northwest concept restaurant. Be sure to stop by for more later... ...
Canadian shoppers swarm into Washington State...
2007-09-22 13:53:00
I dont think I should have to say Washington State... but everyone seems to assume it is DC. No. This is great news though. And while the Canadians are going to Washington the Washingtonians are going to Oregon! LOL!BLAINE -- In the spirit of '76 -- 1976, that is -- Canadians are swarming into Washington state to take advantage of the newly regained parity of the Canadian and U.S. dollars. With the rising value of the loonie, a nickname based on the bird on the Canadian $1 coin, 50 percent more cars were recorded at Peace Arch crossing at this border town last month than in August 2006, according to figures from the U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection. The crossing at the northern end of Interstate 5 is the third busiest on the U.S.-Canadian border. U.S. businesses from retailers to real estate firms are benefiting. Govt. logging records of your travels...
2007-09-22 13:49:00
OLD NEWS! Any information is stored people! Don't be naive in the space age. But the only matter left for us to deal with is where is the limit? The U.S. government is collecting electronic records on the travel habits of millions of Americans who fly, drive or take cruises abroad, retaining data on the persons with whom they travel or plan to stay, the personal items they carry during their journeys, and even the books that travelers have carried, according to documents obtained by a group of civil liberties advocates and statements by government officials.Be sure to stop by for more later... ...
Perez is holding fast...
2007-09-22 13:46:00
Perez is STILL saying that Castro is dead and it is all 'smoke and mirrors'. Amazing!Call us delusional or a conspiracy theorist, but…. We’ve seen him wearing that outfit soooo many times. We’re not going to believe he’s still alive until he takes a nice stroll through Havana. Live. Not in some pre-taped video. And only if he’s accompanied by an independent news organization, like the Associated Press.Be sure to stop by for more later... ...

23 Album Covers that Changed Everything!
2007-09-22 02:38:00
Interesting bit...Long before MTV, performers expressed the visual dimension of their art through their album covers. Every music fan has his/her favorites, but several covers stand out for their brilliance, their impact and their ability to make as much of a statement as the music they represent. Every art form has its giants, and album cover art is no exception. The work of the designers featured here spans over 40 years of music. THE SIXTIES: Before the 1960s, most albums featured portraits of musicians, instruments or musicians playing instruments. But the 1960’s spirit of exploration and experimentation found its way into music and, consequently, onto album covers.READ MORE...Be sure to stop by for more later... ...
Bloomberg Won’t Listen to Ahmadinejad
2007-09-22 02:32:00
I am kinda interested in what he is going to say... and I would bet many Americans are and there is nothing wrong with that. The only way we are going to relax these crazed tensions is by listening a little. I would never expect our leaders to go though.President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran is scheduled to give a speech on Monday afternoon at Columbia University, but Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg won’t be in the audience. The mayor weighed in again today on the controversy over the Iranian leader’s visit. In his weekly radio call-in program on WABC-AM, the mayor told the host, John Gambling: He’s not going downtown. I think, hopefully, he understands why not, but I just think it would be totally inappropriate. But he’s not going to go. Columbia –- look, it’s a university. They have the right to invite who they want. I personally am not going to get involved in criticizing them because I think that’s a slippery slope. Universities operate unto themselves. I’m not on the b ...
Ron Paul: Let States Decide Marijuana Issue
2007-09-22 02:29:00
OMG that would be FREAKIN SWEET! This guy may not be getting my vote... but he sure is winning my heart! He could still get my vote if he would lighten up socially. This would only have my support for NON VIOLENT criminals.By freeing up law enforcement from chasing down drug users and non-violent drug dealers, Paul said they could spend more time looking for rapists, murderers and child molesters.READ MORE...Be sure to stop by for more later... ...

False belief that HIV can be cured is spiking a rise in infected
2007-09-22 02:23:00
That is scary. There is actually an interesting related theory that we as a collective group of humans will come to expect things and will become more lazy together and then accomplishments decrease drastically.A false belief among young HIV patients that the virus can be cured is fuelling a rise in infection levels, a specialist has claimed. Dr Veerakathy Harindra says a quarter of his young HIV patients wrongly believe a cure has already been found. Be sure to stop by for more later... ...
Aide to Resigning Congressman Shoves TV Reporter Down Stairs
2007-09-22 02:19:00
This seems like a bunch of fluffy drama if you ask me... "There's a large man, who begins shoving reporters around, including yours truly. He shoves me one way, then he goes after another reporter. There's an opening in the doorway, and I begin moving through that doorway, and he shoves me down the stairs; he shoves me into a railing on the staircase and also into a woman in on the staircase who was traveling with Weller," the reporter said.Be sure to stop by for more later... ...
