Go Barack! He is really doing well!
WASHINGTON — Two generations of Kennedys _ the Democratic Party's best known political family _ endorsed Barack Obama for president on Monday, with Sen. Edward M. Kennedy calling him a "man with extraordinary gifts of leadership and character," a worthy heir to his assassinated brother. "I feel change in the air," Kennedy said in remarks salted with ...

LIST: Ten interesting things about PDX...
2008-01-28 13:48:00
This guy lists 10 things he liked and found interesting about PDX... interesting to say the least.
Don’t be getting it mixed up with any other Portland. Like this one. Or this one. Roses are important in Portland (it being the “City of Roses”). They even have a Rose Queen. Who need not be an actual rose. It’s roses and beer all the way. Apparently, my hotel room will make me cooler. It’s ...

RIP Mark Zylawy
2008-01-28 13:44:00
After reading about him, this seems like an amazing guy and officer. Truly sad. Best wishes to family and friends. This is the kind of police officer which represented Portland so well as the stories say where even the crooks liked him.

Obama does very well in SC...
2008-01-26 18:08:00
Obama has been projected early as the winner of this record-setting turnout...
He got a reported 81% (+) of the black vote - which obviously most people expected when you really think about it, but it was questionable to think about whether Hillary would be able to get them. Sadly Edwards did not do as well as I hoped taking third.

2008-01-26 02:53:00
There is an interesting discussion of sorts about what is Portland's Architectural Icon over at MetroBlogging...
After some thought, I would have to say it is the Convention Center Spires... Or Mt. Hood with Portland at her feet as one commenter says. ...

OMG! Untraceable was FANTASTIC!!!!
2008-01-26 01:49:00
I just read and posted earlier today that the movie that came out tonight, Untraceable, took place in Portland... and so I had to see it right away. It just looked way too cool!
This movie is A MUST SEE! It was fucking incredible, both as a Portlander, and a internet-loving sadist.
I am not going to spill any spoilers so don't worry. But the story is great, and there is actually a ...

PSU = SUPER GREEN!
2008-01-25 17:26:00
We all already know that PSU is amazingly sustainable and even better, all the administration puts a direct effort into making PSU even more sustainable! PSU is helping Portland proudly trail blaze a path to a better way of life in which we can operate as a community with as little impact on the earth around us...
Even with the student body this applies. PSU is the number one stop for Trimet ...
