Kobe Bryant, apparently inspired by Deion Sanders’ 1994 album Prime Time, recorded his own album in 1999. Not surprisingly, his label never released the project after hearing the lead single, K.O.B.E., which featured the Rihanna of 1999, Tyra Banks. Take a listen: Tony Parker made headlines earlier this year when he dropped his French rap album. French rap album? While it annoys me that celebrities aren’t satisfied being famous in just one industry (see: Scarlett Johansson), Parker did it right. He released an album in a language that none of the fans from his “real” occupation (athlete in America) would understand (French). What Do You Know About John Dillinger? 2008-05-26 15:17:15 By now everyone that lives in Chicago’s Lincoln Park area know that Johnny Depp is in town filming the movie Public Enemies, which is directed by Michael Mann and also stars Christian Bale. Depp is portraying infamous gangster John Dillinger, who was murdered outside the Biograph Theater on Lincoln Avenue, which still exists. Naturally, they’re filming the death scene where it actually took place. To do so, they’ve transformed a block of Lincoln Avenue to look like it did over 70 years ago. For example, that National Food Store actually is built over my favorite Qdoba: They also added train tracks to the middle of the street and vintageified the Biograph sign. Next to the Food Store is a Mexican Restaurant (Fiesta Mexicana) that has been turned into a Chop Suey and Watch Store. These cars were around in 1934 believe it or not.
