TOP FIVE POWER BALLADS EVERRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!
2007-09-11 11:42:44
Lot of talk lately in the Humor-Blogs community about music lately. And by a lot, I mean this post.  Since keeping my finger on the pulse of what’s hot, what’s hip and what’s now is what The Frog Bog is all about (along with helpful instructions about how to best clean your teeth and hair), I’ve decided to call upon the services of my musically inclined half stepsister-in-law, once removed, Frogetta.      She’s a looker, isn’t she? Here she is:  “OH MY GOD THIS IS LIKE SO RAD!!!!!!! OK, LIKE, MY HALF STEPBROTHER-IN-LAW, ONCE REMOVED, AKA THE FROGSTER IS WHAT OH SORRY is this better? OK, like, my half stepbrother-in-law, once removed, AKA The Frogster, is SUCH A DWEEB! He totally needs to take a chill pill! He’s all like, Oh, you gotta do this thing for my blog, and I’m all like, OK, and he’s like totally dorking out, all like, you gotta make sure it’s funny, and I’m like, yo, don’t have a cow, man! ...
This Would Be Another Skull on The Frogster’s Necklace, If I Was a Barbarian With a Necklace Made of Skulls
2007-09-11 11:36:17
Speedcat Hollydale awarded me The “You Make Me Smile Award” for my Blog Lib. Thanks, Speedcat. Most appreciated. You can see the award in all its glory displayed on the sidebar in my “Kudos” section. It is now, I understand, my duty to award this to someone else, which reminds me of the fact that I have not yet, in fact, passed along the last award bestowed on me. Details here.   Oops.  All right, time for me to get in the Award-Giving Game.  Stay tuned.  Details to follow promptly, I hope. kudos you make me smile award procrastination - ...
The Fearless Frog’s Stock Picks for September 10, 2007, Or TFF Beats Wall Street by 6.4 Percent*
2007-09-10 10:27:21
The background info about The Fearless Frog is here. The more recent background info about TFF’s patented Alphabetic Inversion and Chart Reversal Strategy is here. Two weeks ago I said that I could convince you that I am a stock-picking genius.  The proof is right up there at the top of this post, and it’s completely true.  Today Citigroup downgraded MT, which opened at $63.61, so TFF is upgrading TM, which opened at $115.01.  JP Morgan upgraded HAS, which opened at $26.50, so TFF is downgrading SAH, which opened at $26.06. The TFF portfolio had a good week and took a big chomp out of The Wall Street portfolio’s lead. The complete numbers for the year so far, complete with closing prices from Friday the 7th, are here. *Yearly TFF stock pick performance results calculated on an annualized basis.    Did you catch that? The Fine Print just went whizzing by.   It just looks like some harmless Fine Print- probably put there by some lawyer type.  No sens ...
For The Love of a Commentor
2007-09-08 20:24:59
Ow.  My brain hurts.  I don’t usually post on Saturday, and since I know that almost no one reads past the first post, I never double post.  But I did today.  Please scroll down and read the next post.  I’ve been working on my almost-finished latest project and taking breaks to blogsurf almost all day.  Earlier today, I stopped over to see The Chick to find I had a fight on my hands.  I posted a couple of comments and went about my work.  Later on, I stopped by Polli’s place and found this.  There went the next two hours.  I have now officially entered complete bloggeekery. Here you go- For The Love of a Commentor The Frogster was watching Michigan play football, when out of the blue The Chick, who lived in a high tower, posted a comment on his site praising his good looks. You might think this is strange, but at Dan’s place such things happen all of the time (though since there are roughly three hundred and forty two thousand comments on every post ...
The Postman Rang Twice
2007-09-08 11:16:05
The mailman brought me a little sumthin’ sumthin’ yesterday.  But first, a quick tour around our apartment.  The Living Room.     The Deck.     The Bathroom.     The Bedroom. This shot features the adorable Tadpole, my lovely wife who is far too good for me (and, as you can tell by the fuzziness of this picture, is a better photographer as well).     That’s right.  The postman brought me Diesel’s book.  You haven’t heard of it?  Check the left sidebar here. Or the little button here. The promo is here. It’s also mentioned here. And here.  He even inscribed it for me.      Seriously, though, it’s darn funny.  The book is broken down into sections that are just the right length to read while, um, waiting for the coffee to finish brewing.  I bought it because I wanted to support Deisel and because I like to read his stuff.  I’ve published a book and a CD, and getting the word out is difficult but vital.  You should ...
Vitamin F- The Scarlet Knights’ Big Weapon
2007-09-06 08:54:28
Ton of talk in the humor blogs community about college football lately.  And by a ton I mean this post Joel wrote about Michigan’s little “whoopsie” last week.  Thought I’d tell everyone about how Rutgers (the skule two wich I maked attendance) has a new secret weapon… me.  That’s right, some vitamin F.  The Frogster. As we all know, football was invented by Rutgers roughly five hundred years ago.  The first ever football game was played between Rutgers and Princeton, and was won by Rutgers when John Rolfe, Jr. (who, after graduating cum laude, went on to marry Pocahontas) pitched the ball to Montezuma II (the first ever participant in a student exchange program), who took it around the right end for the winning score for the Light Shade of Grey Knights (they weren’t the Scarlet Knights back then, because, as you know from watching TV, color wasn’t invented until 40 years ago). That was the high water mark for the Rutgers footba ...

A Frog Visits the Dentist Part 2, Or The King of Oral Hygiene
2007-09-04 08:57:50
The Fearless Frog is taking the week off, but next Monday I promise I will prove to you that I am a stock picking guru.  I just couldn’t leave you in the dark any longer.  I’m sure that you have all been on the edge of your ergonomic office chairs wondering what the outcome of my dental visit was.  I knew that some of you were losing sleep wondering what happened when The Frogster met Dentistman, and I didn’t want you to fall asleep at the wheel or fall down a flight of stairs due to fatigue, so I decided to put you out of your misery.  Well, I made it.    I am pleased to report that I have discovered the greatest dental team on earth.  There are many reasons for this: 1.  Nobody yelled at me. I first met The Plaque Hitwoman, Maureen.  She poked, prodded, scrubbed, used that ultrasonic thingy and polished until every last ounce of plaque was banished forever from my mouth.  In fact, she was such a one-woman plaque wrecking crew that I actually saw some re ...
The Frogroll
2007-09-03 10:48:42
I want to thank everyone who gave me feedback on my last post regarding linking, etc.  A lot of people, obviously, have a lot of very different opinions about linkage, blogrolls, etc.   It was good for me to hear (see) the discussion about the subject.  I have this blog because I like writing and interacting with people.  In light of this fun interaction, I want to keep you happy, so I’ve also added “The Frog Bog Guarantee” right under the search bar at the top of the second column.  I’ve also started getting way too much comment spam, and I don’t want to take steps to make it harder for spammers to spam me, since that would also make it harder for you to comment, I have decided to take a “terminate with extreme prejudice” everything that Askimet catches.  It’s been working beautifully so far, so if you want to offer me chemical refreshment or direct me to unsavory web sites, you’ll have to do so in code. It seems that enou ...
A Good Swift Kick in the Privates, Or Shall We Link?
2007-08-31 00:13:51
I’ll put up my second installament of A Frog Visits the Dentist next week.  I know, you can’t handle the suspense.  You’re just DYING to know what happened.  HA HA HA!  Sucked in again!  Oh, how do I do it? Swiching gears entirely, I recently had a virtual conversation with a fellow blogger who castigated me for my use of a “Blogroll” page.  I added this page a couple of weeks ago because the list of blogs on my blogroll was up to 13 at the time and I simply wanted to unclutter my sidebar.  This person said that such a page was worthless, and a link from it was as pleasurable as a kick in the private parts.  This person later said he/she/it/they had a bad day and made amends for these comments, and I bear him/her/it/them no ill will.  It did lead me to wonder, however, if this individual, who has a blog I did enjoy/do enjoy/will continue to enjoy, had such a visceral reaction to my blogroll page (combined with my Technorati ranking (currentl ...
A Frog Visits the Dentist Part 1, Or Fear and Trembling in New Jersey
2007-08-28 23:05:32
Shouldn’t you be over at Diesel’s place voting for me in his latest caption contest?  I took a spin over to  Bobbarama’s place yesterday and saw his dental trials and tribulations, so I figured I’d share mine as well. I have a dental visit scheduled for tomorrow morning.  The dentist.  Ooh boy.  I hate going to the dentist.  It’s not my fault.  I was traumatized as a youth.  I have an overbite that you can drive an ATV through.  Apparently, my lower jaw isn’t long enough, or forward enough or whatever.  So when I was probably 12ish or so, my mom took me to an orthodontist, where they gave me something called an activator (apparently it’s since been renamed a bionator) that I was supposed to wear at night to help my lower jaw grow forward.  And I did wear it every night.  The problem was that I opened my mouth in my sleep, so my lower jaw slipped out of the thing.  Therefore, it was doing no good whatever.  It took me some time to ...
The Fearless Frog’s Stock Picks for August 27, 2007, Or Jim Cramer Proves The TFF Theory
2007-08-27 12:54:25
The background info about The Fearless Frog is here. The more recent background info about TFF’s patented Alphabetic Inversion and Chart Reversal Strategy is here. Barron’s had an article about stock guru Jim Cramer last week.  Jim Cramer is a former hedge fund manager and currently the host of Mad Money, a CNBC program that combines market research and histrionics.  If you’re interested, here is the article.  It says, in (very) brief, based on his Mad Money picks, Cramer doesn’t beat the market.  Cramer argues that any past effort to track his performance has been dishonest.  He also claims that sometimes when he says “BUY BUY BUY” he doesn’t really mean it, based on during what segment of his show he made the pick.  The fact that an article like this can exist is just proof of my theory that no one can CONSISTENTLY beat the market.  If Cramer beats The Street why doesn’t he come out with all his numbers in black and white?  Why ...
You Love Me, You Really Love Me!

Polli of Polliwog’s Pond gave me The Silver Recommended Read Award. Awwww yeeeahh.  You can see my award proudly displayed under the “Kudos” section of my sidebar.  This award was given to Polli by Shinade of The Painted Veil and Zainordin of Total Happiness.  Zainordin also runs The Book Project. The rules: 01) As all of us go on building our e-Communities, when we discover you-your blog-and-your blogging up to a standard we both strongly agree upon, then we shall agree to present you The Silver Recommended Read Badge. 02) Once you have received the badge, please place it at your blog site. Please link with us. 03) Next, you form a Jury of your own, a minimum of two equally excellent bloggers, who are Silver badge recipients, and please proceed to present the badge to those who rank a deserving “Recommended Read.” Do as we do. 04) Add your name to this growing list. 05) Then, please inform us whom you have given “The Silver Recommended Read ...
The King of Scalp Health
2007-08-24 03:51:00
For the four of you who read my blog when I originally posted this, my apologies.  I am quite busy and am using the time-honored blogger sleight of hand known as “putting up a post from when no one read your blog” to save some time and creative mojo.  Yes, I’ve been called a lot of things, probably by some of the people who read things I post here.  I’ve even been called some good things from time to time.  But one thing no one has ever called me is “Dandruff-laden.”  No, sir.  I have never had one flake of dandruff in my life.  I have had a veritable host of other embarassing personal issues, which, in case you are currently eating your lunch, I will not go into here.  But not dandruff.  No indeed.  I can wear dark blue, midnight blue, black and deep grey shirts, jackets, vests, overcoats and saris any time I so choose, because I am unflakeable.  There are a lot of dandruff shampoos, conditioners, patches, pills and injections out there ...

The Garlic Smoosher
2007-08-22 09:18:58
OK, it’s officially called The Garlic Twist, but a friend of my wife’s and mine (who we purchased one for after he fell in love with ours) wrote to thank us for “The Garlic Smoosher,” and I think that’s a much more catchy name. Need to finely chop or mince garlic? You NEED this. Ever tried to use the flat of the knife and hammer it with the palm of your hand like the cooks on The Food Network? What happened? You went to the emergency room and got 20 stiches in your hand, and more importantly, dinner was 4 hours late. What about a garlic press? Ever used one of those? What happened is you wound up with only half the garlic you needed in your recipe because the other half oozed out around the edges and onto the floor. Then, you had to spend 3 or 4 hours in front of the sink trying to get the garlic out of the itsy-bitsy little holes in the press, because no one wants their spaghetti to include last month’s leftover garlic. The Garlic Smoosher is the to ...
The Fearless Frog’s Stock Picks for August 20, 2007
2007-08-20 10:07:12
The background info about The Fearless Frog is here. The more recent background info about TFF’s patented Alphabetic Inversion and Chart Reversal Strategy is here. No downgrades from the pros today that could be incorporated into the TFF system, so we’re just letting the portfolios ride for another week.  The TFF portfolio did suffer a teensy bit of a setback last week.  TFF is still standing strong, though we appreciate the electronic community taking notice of the TFF portfolio swinging like the crow’s nest of The Black Pearl during a monsoon and taking pity on TFF by leaving all sorts of offers for prescription drugs as comments on this site.  It’s nice to have virtual friends.    The complete numbers for the year so far, complete with closing prices from Friday the 17th, are here. - ...
