The Frog Bog

Pontification from the pond. It's funny. Except when it's not. But it usually is.

Yet Another Chapter in the Storied History of The Frogster
2007-03-23 11:55:55
I wasn’t always a blogging genius.  No, no.  I have been on the cutting edge of many fields throughout my legendary life.  Over the last few decades, I have excelled in almost everything I have done.  Don’t believe me?  Well, here’s proof:         Well, well.  Looks like the old frogster has been a celebrity for the last 23 years.  If you were fortunate to live along Trenton Times Route 46024 in 1984, you can say you knew me when news of my remarkable life was just beginning to spread.  In fact, I was the one spreading the news about me, since I was the one delivering the papers.  Not like today, when, well, uh, OK, I still guess I’m still the one spreading the news about me.  From old school newspapers to the cutting edge technology of The Frog Bog.  Inundating the world with propaganda about my own greatness for 23 years, and still going strong!  Have a great weekend. - ...

The Frog Ribbits in Many Languages
2007-03-22 21:27:02
I was just poking around tonight, trying to decide if it’s bed time or not, when I happened upon the coolest thing I’ve seen in forever.  Alta Vista’s Babel Fish.  As I’m sure you’re aware, The Babel Fish, as portrayed in Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, is a little fish you stick in your ear as you are traversing the universe that allows you to understand everything anyone is saying to you in any language.  This comes from the Biblical story about God confusing the language of man to prevent the construction of The Tower of Babel.  I immediately grabbed it and put it on this site.  It’s on the sidebar underneath all the blog listing sites I’m on.  I’ve been spending the last half hour looking at my site in lots of different languages.  Now, You can read this page in English. Usted puede leer esta página en Español. ?? ????? ? ???? ?? ? ???. Sie können diese Seite ...
Gloom and Doom is Where You Find it (If You Look Hard Enough)
2007-03-22 14:15:30
If there’s one way to really vex someone stomping around looking for his glasses and swearing at his wife because she must have mislaid them while tidying up, it’s to point out that his glasses are, in fact, resting on top of his head.  Oops.  No one else put them there.  Talk about an emotional faux pas.  I generally look at life through funny looking glasses with a big nose and a fake moustache attached.  It’s the only way to get through each day without winding up with an intestinal tract full of ulcers.  However, at the same time, I am also probably the biggest cynic on the planet.  While I can see the humor in the mundane, I’m also a veritable Federal Reserve of paranoia and suspicion.  I suppose this balances me out.  Everyday fumbles are to be laughed at and not taken too seriously, because there really is a super-cadre of gazilliontrillionaires controlling all the world’s governments.  Today I decided to be cynical and grouchy, which i ...
The Frog Bog- Giving You Just What You Want
2007-03-21 11:34:05
Yes, sir.  The Frog Bog aims to deliver.  And now, I am ecstatic to report, that means a whole new level of customer service.  Indeed, this is not MY blog, this is EVERYONE’S blog.  Up until recently, I’ve simply written stuff that entertained me to write and helped stave off my San Francisco homesickness, but since a fair amount of people have started coming here and reading, I’ve gone on a promotional tear lately, which largely includes calling my sister and asking if she read the post about her van yet.  It also includes submitting this blog to a bunch of link sites. The coolest thing I’ve begun paying attention to lately is who reads this blog and what they want to read.  I can go into my hosting service and see what country people are coming from and what brought them to this site.    I would like to take a special moment to welcome my first visitor ever from Turkey, who stopped by the blog recently.  Welcome!  I have now had visitors from over ...
