Stupid Questions About Weight Loss
2007-06-24 11:19:00
The only stupid questions about weight loss are the ones that don't get asked. There are no stupid questions. I try and answer as many questions as possible with time permitting as I know that any question that gets asked is most likely a question that a lot of people want to ask but don't.For example… you may be reading about weight loss and want to ask a question but don't take the time to post a comment or send an email. Trust me, if you think of the question, someone else has as well. Ask away. The question and the answer will help not only yourself, but many other readers as well.My goal is to answer at least one question per week. I usually answer these questions on the weekends, but I don't limit it to that. However, as much as I want to take the weekends off, I usually find myself in front of my computer at some point and do answer them.On my former fat guy weight loss blog, I have an entire section dedicated to reader questions. I also take questions from my weig ...

Weight Training Program With A New Baby - Q and A
2007-06-23 14:58:00
Q: Hi Rob, I was wondering what your opinion on these are? My wife's about to give birth to our first baby in a week or two & I'm sure I'm going to be limited time wise in the gym. What would you recommend for a routine? ThanksSteve D.A: Congratulations. I'm wondering what you mean exactly as I could take this to mean your training over the next few weeks, or your training after the baby arrives.Either way, with limited time, I'd simply switch up the program to make it quick and heavy with lots of off days to recover and spend time with wife and baby.Change is good. Changing your program every 6 weeks is a must. I answered another reader question about How To Deal With A Mental Blockage In Weight Loss and recommended this very same thing called Periodization. After time, your muscles begin to adapt to the stress. Changing your program every 6 weeks keeps the body guessing as to what's happening next and it continues to adapt and grow.A rest is also good, so in this case with l ...

Chris Karagiannis - Skydiver - Killed In Afghanistan
2007-06-22 18:55:00
A friend and fellow skydiver from my drop zone was killed in action by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. I both jumped and partied with Chris. I remember him as being quiet and reserved. This from Sympatico news:The bodies of three Canadian soldiers are heading home. 26-year-old Corporal Stephen Frederick Bouzane, 22-year-old Private Joel Vincent Wiebe and 31-year-old Sergeant Christos Karigiannis of Laval were killed Wednesday by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.Karigiannis is described as an avid skydiver.Karigiannis took a pilot's course in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue in 1993 and has family in Laval.Karagiannis and the two other soldiers died when their vehicle struck a bomb about 40 kilometres west of Kandahar City. And this from a former girlfriend of Chris.Chris was posted to PPCLI 3rd in Edmonton and has been here for a number of years, but his original home was Montreal. Chris has 2 brothers, his mom, and was an Uncle..he was predeceased by his father.I contacted a friend of mine who ...

Hormonally Correct Eating - Q and A
2007-06-21 16:01:00
One of my Sunrider clients and I were talking on the phone the other day. I told her about the Hormonally Correct Eating program I was now following and trying out. We talked about what people consider "eating good" or "eating clean" because people will tell me by email that they're "eating clean" or "I eat well". I still don't know what "eating clean" means to people. To a Vegetarian: Eating Clean might mean eating no animal products, but would include rice cakes for example. Rice cakes might be clean, but it's most certainly not "Eating Well". Rice cakes are one of the worst things you could put in your body. If you have any in your cupboards, throw them out.To a Bodybuilder: Eating Clean would most probably mean low starchy carbohydrates, higher protein and fat meals, no pizza, no beer.To the Average Joe: Eating Clean might mean that they don't eat red meat, but do eat Chicken. It might mean "don't drink Soda Pop" but "do drink beer". It might mean they've cut the fat ...
