Great John Toilet Supports 2000 Pounds
2007-08-03 10:31:00
Great John Toilet For Big BumsWhen I first saw an article about this toilet, I thought it was a gag, but I've since changed my opinion after reading more. The Great John Toilet is the creation of a company that designs bathroom products for larger sized people. They're filling a need for a growing America. This toilet is 150% larger contact surface than normal but also allows for children or smaller sized people to use it as well. The toilet seat is 6" longer in front and 17" higher which makes for ease of getting up. The seat is designed so that it wont shift or pinch under the weight.Personally, having been nearly 500 pounds myself, I see where this Great John Toilet would be an asset to the larger individual. It has a 2000 pound capacity as well.. er.. for the person, not bowel movements. For more info about Great John and their line of bathroom products, visit GreatJohn.com

A Calorie By Any Other Name
2007-08-01 15:07:00
By Joshua CarterMany years ago I had a discussion with a personal trainer colleague of mine. I was young and hungry, and he was definitely more established than I at the time. He had some really nice training programs that yielded some decent results. The thing was he didn’t know squat when it came to nutrition. His basic philosophy was "calories in , calories out." That is the basic methodology of many trainers and nutrition centers. It can work, to a point, but back to my story. He was saying that basically his clients can eat whatever they want, so long as the they burned more calories than they took in. He did not care what the macronutrient ratios were, just the caloric total. Ok, so I gave him a challenge. Pick any 2 clients, put them on a 2000 calorie diet. One client can only eat Frosted Flakes. The other client could only eat lean chicken and broccoli. Put them on the same training program and see who loses the most fat after 4 weeks. Not surprisingly he did not ta ...

4 Things You Didn't Know About Me
2007-07-31 18:48:00
#1 I had an internet radio show that ran for a quarter year, so 3 and a half months. Did twelve interviews in total, but got quite ill in the middle and spent 5 days in the hospital with a clot in my lung... which brings me to point #2 (see below). Each interview got better and better as I learned from my mistakes from the previous weeks show. My goal was to get sponsored which would then create an income and allow me to do more interviews. I had paid $5000 out of my own pocket for doing the show. The producer that worked with me was great and I really appreciated her help.Former Fat Guy Show BannerI had contacted Subway about sponsoring me and they were thrilled at the idea. They would have done it, but had no way to pay me due to how they collected advertising dollars from their franchise owners. They agreed with my message and my story, but had no way to support me.The people I interviewed were:Bill Pearl - 5 time Mr Universe and still trains 5 days a week in his 70'sT Harv ...

Whats The Difference Between Appetite and Hunger?
2007-07-30 19:10:00
Duration 2:39Resources:Start Strong MondaysStart Strong ArchivesRed Hot MetabolismMy Interview With ShawnThe answer:"One arises from the neck up, the other is a natural desire to nourish your body."Listen for the Key Moment:"An appetite is the sign of ..."Rob Faigin of Natural Hormone Enhancement talks about two different ways to describe hunger as well, namely Hormonal Hunger vs Cravings. Rob says "... it may be helpful to think of 'Hunger' as a general craving for food, and a 'craving' as hunger for a particular kind of food. Giving in to Hunger/Cravings does not mean that you are weak; they are immensely powerful biological drives.Willpower has limits, but there are no limits to hunger and cravings. Conventional dieting puts willpower and appetite on a collision course. Unfortunately, this is a case of the irresistible force against the movable object: willpower weakens as the fight wears on, but hunger and cravings become stronger and stronger."Since being on the NHE eat ...

What Matters Most
2007-07-27 17:56:00
I thought I would leave you this weekend with this thought. We're discussing positive quotes in my weight loss forum, the ones that inspire you to be better. Some offered already are:"If you screw up a meal - do not, I repeat DO NOT try to adjust the next meal to "make up for it". All you did then was screw up two meals. If you overeat at meal number one - just get back on track. Immediately. Because thinking "Well, I've blown it now so I might as well REALLY blow it," is akin to getting a flat tire as you drive down the freeway and getting out and totaling your car."-Alwyn Cosgroveand "Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments" -Jim Rohnboth of which were offered up by Fitness Nette, who describes herself as "I’m 29, MWF, 177 lbs, 5’11, proud mom of a 4 legged giant, newlywed, self-proclaimed optimist, fitness nerd and weekend warrior."Fitness Nette was 239 pounds 2 years ago, but has released 80 pounds of that by following the Body For Life program. Her curren ...

Visualize Your Weight Loss Success
2007-07-27 11:37:00
... or anything else that you want."If you can see it in your mind... it's real"I am posting the email that I got today, from The Universe. Yes, The Universe sent me an email, helping me to plan my day and focus on what I want, not what I don't want.I was guided toward this service, from where I don't know, but that's not relevant. The fact that I found it and started it is what does matter. Notes from the Universe is brilliant. It's a great way to be reminded each day about how the manifestation process works and to take steps towards your goal. This was my morning email from the Universe:If you can see it in your mind, Rob, it's real. And if you can consistently hold onto that image, if only when you visualize each day, the hard part is done. All that remains is merging the two worlds together, the present and the one you've imagined, which is my part. And you can best help me align circumstances, coincidences, and chance encounters by getting busy, going out into the worl ...

Are You Bulking Or Cutting?
2007-07-25 15:00:00
By Zach Bashoreauthor of No BS Bodybuilding aka Bodybuilding for the Average JoeVery few people possess the knowledge needed to successfully gain muscle or lose fat. A person may know how to lose fat but most of you don't know how to keep all of your hard earned muscle in the process. On the flip side, you may know how to gain muscle, but you need to learn how to gain this muscle without the fear of fat gain. I am going to discuss the basics of bulking and cutting and hopefully give you the knowledge needed to complete your next bulking or cutting diet.Bulking is simply eating more calories than what you are used to eating, but it`s not as simple as it seems. Your calories need to be from healthy bodybuilding foods and not from junk foods like pizza, chips, and cookies. The other hard part of bulking is determining your BMR or basal metabolic Rate.(Your BMR is basically the number of calories you'd burn if you stayed in bed all day.) To start, you should eat 500 calories over mainten ...

2007-07-24 11:31:00
Aspartame causes cancer… the proof is finally in with this long term research study performed by the Cesare Maltoni Cancer Research Center of the European Ramazzini Foundation. You read that right… Aspartame (APM) causes cancer. It is however low in calories.. .yes. Eat it and die a slow painful death… calorie free. Is it really worth risking your health for a weight loss solution?Aspartame = Nutrasweet = EqualAspartame was added to the feed of rats in various doses (ppm) until natural death occurred, after which they performed a necropsy (autopsy). The results of the study show for the first time that aspartame, in our experimental conditions, causes a) an increased incidence of malignant-tumor-bearing animals with a positive significant trend in males and in females b) an increase in lymphomas and leukemias with a positive significant trend in both male) and females,c) a statistically significant increased incidence, with a positive significant trend, of transitional cell carc ...

He's getting married in a few days and pimping his diet was my wedding gift to him. Anthony is starting at 405 pounds. His chosen cardio method is biking and he's from Florida. Anthony is calling his weight loss story "Let My New Life Begin"We're tracking the whole thing in the weight loss forum under the Pimp My Diet Section. So here's a snippet from the article I wrote two years ago called "The Number One Best Thing About Burning Fat"There are a lot of other things people just don’t consider when entering into a fat loss program like Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle so I want to list a few things that I’ve been thinking about over the past few days in regards to this.Laundry - With doing all the extra cardio along with weight training, I’m finding that I have to wash clothes a lot more often. I only have a limited amount o ...

Are You Lifting Weights Or Strength Training?
2007-07-17 18:32:00
Duration 3:12Resources:Start Strong MondaysStart Strong ArchivesRed Hot MetabolismMy Interview With Shawnby Shawn PhillipsThe answer:The difference lies within where you putyour focus.Listen for the Key Moment:Try this exercise...I believe that it does not matter how much weight you're moving, as long as the form is correct and your objective is to facilitate growth, not just throwing the weight around.Focus on your form always. In a recent training session I did with Russell Bridgeman, my training partner, he said to me "that was easy".. so I asked him "slow down then". Stop the momentum, focus on form.
