Lifestyle and Dietary Acids Cause Heartburn, GERD, Barrett's, and Esophageal Cancer
2008-04-09 02:58:00
Over the past two decades, esophageal cancer has risen six-fold. About 16,470 Americans will be diagnosed with esophageal cancer this year, according to the American Cancer Society. Fewer than one in five survives five years with the current medical treatment of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. The following are excerpts from an article by Lauran Neegaard of the Associated Press and Dr. Robert O. Young, of the pH Miracle Living Center."Chronic heartburn is a daily acid bath for the esophagus, and complications from it are on the rise.""The reason that chronic heartburn is on the rise is because of the chronic ingestion of acidic foods and drinks, including dairy, meat, high sugar fruits and grains. When we have a highly acidic diet this causes the stomach to produce a high amount of sodium bicarbonate to buffer the excess dietary acid. This increase of sodium bicarbonate to alkalize the ingestion of an highly acidic meal creates an equal amount of a very strong acid called hydrochlo ...

Radiation From Cellular Phones May Cause More Cancerous Conditions Then Tobacco
2008-04-04 07:36:00
Research raises new concerns about the effects of mobile devices. The latest study is from a famous cancer researcher from the UK. The following is an article reported by Fox News:"A study by an award-winning cancer expert shows that cell phone use could kill more people than smoking, it is reported.""According to the U.K.'s Independent newspaper, the study, headed by Dr. Vini Khurana, shows that there is a growing body of evidence that using handsets for 10 years or more can double the risk of brain cancer.""Khurana -- one of the world's top neurosurgeons -- based his assessment on the fact that three billion people now use the phones worldwide. That is three times higher than people who smoke. Smoking kills some five million globally each year.""He warned that people should avoid using handsets whenever possible and called on the phone industry to make them safer. France and Germany have already warned against the use of mobile phones, especially by children, it is reported.""The st ...

Drinking Wine Increases Your Risk For Breast Cancer by 50%
2008-03-29 06:16:00
Women can be raising their risk of a cancerous breast condition without knowing it. British official at the Department of Health said that women who drink more than fourteen units of alcohol a week (a unit is 10 ml or approximately one ounce) raise their risk of developing breast cancer by 50 percent.A single glass of wine can contain 3.5 units."Women who regularly drink too much are 50 percent more likely to develop breast cancer," said British Public Health Minister Dawn Primarolo. "And many drink too much simply because they have no idea how many alcohol units they are consuming."Of special concern are professional women whose acidic alcohol consumption "has gone under the radar," according to Primarolo. "It's fair to say that most women don't know how much they're drinking."Larger glass sizes may put a single glass of acidic wine over a woman's daily amount.According to Dr. Robert O. Young, a research scientist at the pH Miracle Living Center, states, "drinking wine is highly a ...

Women Alkalize and Exercise for No More HRT
2008-03-26 04:33:00
Low impact alkalizing aerobic exercising significantly decreased the acidic chemical imbalances that can lead to heart dis-ease and stroke in postmenopausal women according to a study in the spring issue of the Journal of Women and Aging. The acidic hormone estrogen was previously thought by scientists to reduce the acidic chemical imbalances that can lead to cardiovascular dis-eases such as coronary heart disease and stroke in postmenopausal women. However, recent studies have now indicated detrimental effects of long-term use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or acid estrogen replacement therapy, including an increased risk for stroke, heart attack and breast cancer. Faced with these potential consequences, more women are turning to low impact alkalizing exercise as a natural way to combat postmenopausal effects tied to acidic diets and lifestyles. The study found that HRT users and non-HRT users benefited equally from the exercise."Given the controversy with HRT, postmenopausal wom ...

The Twelve Steps to Prevent and Reverse Metabolic Acidosis and Diabetes
2008-03-23 06:34:00
Over 18 million Americans have been diagnosed with diabetes and over 5 million are in a state of metabolic acidosis but don't know it. In addition, one out of ever four American suffers from metabolic acidosis, a combination of type-2 diabetes, hypertension and abnormalities in blood lipids (which are diagnosed using a blood test known as a lipid profile. Metabolic acidosis leads to stage seven acids and the symtomologies of cardiovascular dis-ease, diabetes, cancerous states, kidney dis-ease, arthritis, and other deadly conditions, all caused by dietary and metabolic acids. Are you experiencing the symptoms of metabolic acidosis? The characteristics include:1) Abdominal obesity from dietary and metabolic acids (waist circumference)o Men -- waist greater than 40 incheso Women -- waist greater than 35 inches2) Crystalized dietary and metabolic acids called Triglycerides -- greater than 150 mg/dl3) HDL Cholesterol (men) -- less than 40 mg/dl4) HDL (women) -- less than 50 mg/dl5) Blood pre ...

The Medical Diagnosis of Disease Is An Illusion
2008-03-19 23:37:00
Disease or should we say Dis-ease names like cancer, diabetes and osteoporosis are misleading and misinform patients about dis-ease prevention. There is a curious tendency in conventional medicine to name a set of symptoms a disease. I was recently at a compounding pharmacy having my bone mineral density measured to update my health stats. I spotted a poster touting a new drug for osteoporosis. It was written by a drug company and it said exactly this: 'Osteoporosis is a disease that causes weak and fragile bones.' Then, the poster went on to say that you need a particular drug to counteract this 'disease.'Yet the language is all backwards. Osteoporosis isn't a disease that causes weak bones, osteoporosis is the name given to a diagnosis of weak bones. In other words, the weak bones are the result of excess acidity, and then the diagnosis of osteoporosis followed. The drug poster makes it sound like osteoporosis strikes first, and then you get weak bones. The cause and effect is all ...

The Cause of Chronic Human Pain
2008-03-17 01:49:00
A recent obscure article in the Wall Street Journal concerning the possible cause of chronic pain is very significant and supports my foundational theory. My theory is quite simple - acid equals pain and pain equals acid.Scientists have discovered that the naked mole rat is highly sensitive to touch, but when it comes to chili peppers or acid, the hairless, sausage-like creatures are immune to the acidic sting. These rats are found in oxygen-starved burrows in East Africa and lack a chemical called Substance F, which causes the sensation of burning pain in mammals. The absence of Substance F probably helps the rodents cope with the acid that builds in their tissues as they breathe in the high levels of carbon dioxide in their underground dens. The researchers further suggest that "acid-sensing"is thought to play a key role in chronic inflammatory pain in the naked mole rat and maybe the secret to reversing chronic pain in humans. For humans the answer is very simple for increasing or decr ...

Dancing May Help Reduce Parkinson Symptoms
2008-03-17 01:12:00
Patients with Parkinson's disease who took part in regular tango dance classes for 20 sessions showed significant improvements in balance and mobility when compared to patients who did conventional exercise, a new study by researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis shows.Researchers Gammon M. Earhart, Ph.D., assistant professor of physical therapy, and Madeleine E.Hackney, a predoctoral trainee in movement science, compared the effects of Argentine tango dance classes to exercise classes on functional mobility in 19 patients with Parkinson's disease. The participants in the dance program showed significant improvement in several standard tests for patients with Parkinson's disease - the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UP-DRS) and the Berg Balance Scale.Parkinson's dis-ease is an acidic metabolic disorder that affects nerve cells in a part of the brain that controls muscle movement. The nerve cells that make the neurotransmitter dopamine are effe ...

Sweat and Pee Your Way To Health
2008-03-10 03:21:00
Couch potatoes who complain they are tired all the time have an easy solution -- low impact exercise.Regular, low-intensity workouts such as a leisurely stroll can boost energy levels by 20 percent and decrease fatigue by 65 percent, a team at the University of Georgia found."Too often we believe that a quick workout will leave us worn out, especially when we are already feeling fatigued," Tim Puetz, who helped conduct the study, said in a statement."However, we have shown that regular exercise can actually go a long way in increasing feelings of energy, particularly in sedentary individuals."Puetz and a team led by Patrick O'Connor at the University's Exercise Psychology Laboratory studied36 people who did not exercise regularly and who said they were always fatigued. They were divided into three groups. One did 20 minutes of moderately intense exercise on an exercise bike three times a week for six weeks, the second did similar workouts but at a much more leisurely pace and the thir ...

Vaccines - A Clear and Present Danger
2008-03-06 21:57:00
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the federal agency that oversees the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), recently conceded the first vaccine-autism case. This case was filed in the no-fault National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program as part of the Autism Omnibus proceedings in the U.S. Federal Court of Claims. It was one of the first three cases chosen that alleged Thimerosal in childhood vaccines significantly contributed to a child developing autism.Clifford Shoemaker, of Shoemaker and Associates of Vienna, Virginia, is the attorney of record in the Hanna Poling v. Secretary of HHS (case: 02-1466V).Experts filing on behalf of the petitioner, Hanna Poling, included pediatric neurologist, Dr. Andrew Zimmerman of Johns Hopkins University, and Maryland geneticist and epidemiologist, Dr. Mark Geier of the Genetic Centers of America. This concession shows the dishonesty of the continual media spin coming fr ...

Does Salt Cause High Blood Pressure?
2008-03-03 05:18:00
Both sea salt and rock salt were well known to the ancient Greeks who noted that eating salty food affected basic body functions such as digestion and excretion (urine and stools). This led to salt being used medically. The healing methods of Hippocrates (460 BC) especially made frequent use of salt. Salt-based remedies were thought to have expectorant powers. A mixture of water and salt was employed as an emetic.Drinking a mixture of two-thirds cow's milk and one-third salt-water, in the mornings, on an empty stomach was recommended as a cure for diseases of the spleen. A mixture of salt and honey was applied topically to clean bad ulcers and salt-water was used externally against skin diseases and freckles.Hippocrates also mentions inhalation of steam from salt-water. We know today that the antiinflammatory effects of inhaled salt provide relief from respiratory symptoms (c).Thus, 2000 years ago, Greek medicine had already discovered topical use of salt for skin lesions, drinking sal ...

Goverment Concedes - Vaccines Cause Autism!
2008-03-03 01:50:00
I have been fighting for this truth to be revealed for years. I have worked with the autism spectrum for years by balancing biochemistries and clearing the bowel congestion I find in all cases of autism. Finally my work is vindicated!http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-kirby/government-concedes-vacci_b_88323.htmlGovernment Concedes Vaccine - Autism Case in Federal Court - Now What?By David KirbyFebruary 25, 2008After years of insisting there is no evidence to link vaccines with the onset of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), the US government has quietly conceded a vaccine-autism case in the Court of Federal Claims. The unprecedented concession was filed on November 9, and sealed to protect the plaintiff's identify. It was obtained through individuals unrelated to the case. The claim, one of 4,900 autism cases currently pending in Federal "Vaccine Court," was conceded by US Assistant Attorney General Peter Keisler and other Justice Department officials, on behalf of the Department of Health ...

Low or No Protein Diet May Extend Life
2008-02-29 20:38:00
The key to longevity is eating less protein or better still no animal protein -- and not just fewer calories and less acidity, as has previously been thought -- scientists have discovered."Animals that eat less live longer -- up to a point,"says Professor Stephen Simpson of the University of Sydney's School of Biological Sciences. "Our research using animal models shows the balance of protein to carbohydrate in the diet is critical."The idea that restricting food intake without malnutrition prolongs life has become a core belief in gerontology research, Professor Simpson says. "We know dietary restriction extends life in yeasts, fruit flies, worms, mice and monkeys, and it is widely held that the same affect should be true for humans."But scientists couldn't be sure whether it was the restriction of calories in itself, or the restriction of specific nutrients, that affected aging. But now Professor Simpson and colleagues at Seoul University, Auckland University, UNSW and Macquarie ha ...
