Gourmet Brain
Reviewing recipes once a week. One gourmet recipe that I cook in my little kitchen. A man who loves only meat and potatoes judges the dishes. Everything is written in light hearted humor, we have fun. |

Day 12
2007-10-27 01:10:43
12-19 years of age. This is because through those years my family finally settled down in Morrill Maine, in a shabby log cabin. This is a brief memory that evokes inside my being every once and a while. Our cabin was badly insulated so our sources of heat were incapable of making the house warm consistently. Our bathroom was chilly during the winter as most rooms in our house were. There were two doors to our one and only bathroom; one entering from the living room and the other through my parent’s bedroom. There were locks on the inside on the bathroom on each. When I would get up to take a shower in the morning it was usually a consistent 50-60 degrees in the house, sometimes even colder if the furnace failed the night and the wood stove burned out. I would lock both doors and put on a tiny space heater my mum bought after being so irritated that it was so cold in the mornings. Ahi Tuna and Shrimp Tacos: gourmet brain style
2007-10-21 00:59:27
I did a random search for recipes and alas, this is what I chose for my first go at gourmet brain. I’m elated I let chance take the wheel for this was heaven in my mouth. I’m also perturbed because it wasn’t a challenge but very easy to prepare, some ingredients I’d never worked with but all together they were no brainers. I must say through the shopping and cooking process I put my own spin on a few things. The pictures I have included are thumbnails just because my first go at this post created giant pictures that attacked browser windows, making for a long scrolling, unappealing post. If you wanna see the full pretty pic, just click on it and a little box pops up conveniently with the full size picture, I love technology!
Here’s everything you’ll ...

My Gourmet Brain
2007-10-16 14:03:19
Everyone has thought about it at least once.
” Wouldn’t it be great to just be able to taste food from top restaurants and get paid for it!”
Its an interesting line of work, and anybody would love to be paid to eat, right? Of course right! Well I’ve thought about how interesting it would be, simply to visit all the great renowned restaurants in my Phoenix area and review them. Instead of paying to visit I’ve another alternative that I think will be far more amusing. Every week I’ll pick a way crazy gourmet recipe I find online and attempt to recreate the masterpiece myself in my own humble kitchen! I then will of course review the new technical kitchen skills I’ve learned in the kitchen, the difficulty of the recipe, the taste and my very favorite part, my Man Tasting review. Meet Ryan.
He is a pure, undomesticated man who likes only meat and potatoes. I will post his picture tasting each dish each week. And you’ll get to read what he ...
