Update
1969-12-31 17:59:59
Quite but tensioned trading as the US Dollar index is very near to historical lows (see USDX pattern target) and the EUR / USD pair is 100 pips below the all time high ( I'm referring the high of the actual Euro , theoretically ? pre issued EURO was actually higher). Silver continue to lag behind gold, HUI & XAU pulled back slightly. In depth look at HUI & XAU.That?s all for now... ...

Gold Spot & Futures Charts
1969-12-31 17:59:59
The USD Index hovers near decades lows, the EUR/USD pair kissed its all time high (~136.667) currently floating less then a cent below. The jury is still out as things can abruptly change on a penny or less?So far June COMEX gold contract failed to exceed its late February high (~699$) while spot gold managed to trade above the same cyclical high. The contango is taking its toll.XAUUSD Intraday Chart (4 hours candles). Annotated with Fibonacci levels and Elliott wave count ( wave 4 underway). As posted before; ~667$ spot remains target before heading higher.GCM7 - COMEX Gold June contract daily chart. Annotated with Fibonacci levels and Elliott wave count (wave iii blue underway). Note support at ~672$, just below the 50% Fibonacci line.As explained before, take any of my posts in the right time frame context. I observe and estimate that the price of gold is constructing an Egg pattern which requires extremely large degree of patience. ...

Tight trading range for gold ?
1969-12-31 17:59:59
Last few days gold is trading in a relatively tight trading range, Bollinger bands (MA= 50, STD =2) on the one hour charts are tight and a breakout one way or another should soon follow. As previously said, I expect gold and silver to move higher but it is possible that gold will first move little bit lower (~620$) ? a final speculators shakeout. As you can see on the one hour spot gold chart below, the price of gold is trading between the 61.8% and the 50% Fibonacci lines (630$ - 640$). More support at ~620$(76.4%) and resistance at 648$(38.2%). As for the longer term picture for gold ? No change and no need to update the daily and weekly charts I posted several times during the last week or so. (See the archive).Click on the chart below for larger view.

Gold and Central Banks
1969-12-31 17:59:59
S.P from India Submits:" I like your blog a lot and visit it to see your charts to guess the gold moves. I don't trade futures but interested in buying gold. But presently, there seem to be no signs that the world will ever move towards a gold standard. The problems of the world itself are so huge to even think of going in that direction. The easier solution is being adopted and everyone is using their printing presses :)I saw recently that even India increased money supply by 20% this year.Do you see the gold breaking the 540 support in the next 1 year? The recent jump from support was gr8. I read somewhere that the recent dump, came because the British government decided to sell its gold partly, do you agree to it? "India is a major power in the global economy particularly in the gold market. As most readers probably know India is the world's largest market for physical gold.Central Banks are actively participating in the gold market, some as sellers and some as buyers. The European ...
