VPOD: A FIT Look at Luxury 2007-06-18 08:22:00 On a stretch of Seventh Avenue in New York City renamed Fashion Avenue, there is a building that spans two blocks and houses a permanent collection of over 80,000 objects that is the largest collection of costumes, textiles and apparel in the world. It's the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and if you're in the city in the next few months, be sure to drop by for their current exhibit: Luxury. It covers 250 years of fashion history and features over 150 fabulous garments and accessories including an 1880s dress by Worth and a 1950s evening gown by Dior.
