‘Prison Break’ Premiere A Ratings Disappointment

Who says the third time’s a charm? At 7.9 million viewers, Monday night’s premiere of Prison Break was a ratings dud. Season Three’s opener was down approximately 2 million as compared to last year. Even reruns of How I Met Your Mother, The New Adventures of Old Christine fared better in the same time slot last night. Unfortunately, this slow start doesn’t bode well for the rest of Prison’s season. Come next Monday, the inmates will be facing stiff competition from Dancing with the Stars and a new episode of Mother. But should the execs at Fox really be surprised by the low turnout? I think it’s safe to say they underestimated the fans who wanted more than rehash. This time it’s Lincoln trying to save Michael? What a twist! Half the cast is locked up in the same prison? September 17, 2007 It's a new season of Prison Break my, how the tables have turned. Michael is not adapting to his new home well. He gives Mahone a helpless look as the two are stuck in prison. Lincoln tries to go to bat for his brother but there's nothing he can do until those who can help him arrive at work in the morning. When the man Lincoln is talking to finds out Michael is in Sona, he says the worst of the worst are there. There are no guards in the prison, the inmates run the show. A man is killed in a prison fight and Michael is left standing over his body.Lincoln finally makes some headway on Michael's behalf. Michael will be transferred to a safer prison and eventually, face charges back in the United States. Michael runs into Bellick in the prison yard, he has been beaten badly. Do you plan out the entire season in advance, or is it kind of “make it up as you go along”? We basically have…well it depends. Season 2, we had the first kind of six episodes in mind, and knew kind of generally where we wanted to end up. But we didn’t have the whole thing structured, so we kind of figured it out as we went along.
