Revere Beach Makeover
2007-07-08 14:04:00
I was in Lynn, MA on Thursday evening test driving a car and the sales rep took me on the 'scenic route' along the beach in Revere. It was somewhat scenic, but what really caught my attention was all the construction that was going on alongside Revere Beach. Orange cones and barricades were up everywhere, limiting everyone to a single lane of traffic.Sure enough, today's Globe has an article describing the renovations that are going on right now. Click (here) to read the entire article. The Department of Conservation and Recreation is spending about $11 million dollars on renovations and the project is expected to take until early next year. If you don't mind dealing with the construction, the Revere Beach Sand Castle Festival just started this weekend and will continue on until July 15th. Click (here) for the festival schedule. Swing by to see the sand castles and grab a sandwich at the famous Kelly's Roast Beef. Know of Any Interesting Boston News or Events That You'd Lik ...

2007-06-30 22:01:00
As you may have already noticed, the Hard Rock Cafe closed its doors last week after 18 years at its location in the Back Bay/South End area. What you may not know is that the new Hard Rock Cafe is opening up on Monday July 2nd in the location that formerly housed The Rack in Fanuil Hall. The new Hard Rock Cafe Boston will be one of the city’s largest entertainment destinations, with more than 16,000-square feet of space, including a 514-seat restaurant, a live music area for concerts and special eventsI'm not exactly sure when the opening ceremony will be (but if i find out I will update my post) but a bunch of local celebs will be there and they will be smashing 71 guitars to commemorate the founding of the very first Hard Rock Cafe in London in 1971. You read correctly.....71 guitars.....what a waste. Maybe they could donate 71 guitars signed by these celebs to some underprivileged kids instead and do something productive. Anyway, here's a list of the celebs (if you can call ...
