Spider-Man 3: Art Inspired by the Movie
2007-05-07 11:00:14
My wife’s brother, Ryan, is what some would call a modern Michaelangelo when it comes to using MS Paint. As such, he has crafted this fine piece of art which represents the emotions evoked in him by the Spider-Man 3 movie. I’m just glad to see I wasn’t the only one who thought it stunk like a pile of… ...
American Idol: Blake Lewis? Chances of Winning Season 6
2007-05-07 10:00:01
Although I am no fan of Blake Lewis on American Idol Season 6 that does not prevent me from recognizing how wildly popular he is amongst the audience. Following what I considered a surprise dismissal of Phil Stacey over LaKisha Jones the landscape has really changed, and as a result Blake Lewis finds himself in a very interesting position. Looking at the Top 4 for American Idol this season reminds me of the kids’ game, ‘One of these things is not like the others,’ and no, I don’t just mean that he’s the only white kid left. Blake Lewis now remains as the last rocker standing. Melinda Doolittle did a great job of proving she could handle a rock song very well last week, but that still doesn’t make her a rocker, nor is that where she wants to be. I think it’s also safe to say that Jordin Sparks and LaKisha Jones proved that rock was not their best thing, and that’s okay, it doesn’t have to be. All three of those ladies s ...

Dancing with the Stars Preview: Week 8
2007-05-07 09:15:47
“America’s Favorite Ballroom” Last week, John and Edyta left the show (sorry Cliffy.). Here are tonight’s five remaining couples: Joey & Kym Laila & Maksim Apolo & Julianne Ian & Cheryl Billy Ray & Karina This week the couples will be performing two individual routines: a Cha-Cha and another Latin dance. Billy Ray & Karina are the obvious front runners to go home this week. He has been a weak performer throughout the competition and they were the other couple in the bottom two last week. Their scores from the judges have been so low that it is only the support from Billy Ray’s fan base that has kept them in the competition this long. If they don’t really push it this week I can’t imagine they won’t go home. The other couple who is in danger this week are Ian & Cheryl. While, their scores have never been low enough for them to end up in the bottom two before but, they have never been in the same ba ...
The Bachelor Preview: Week 6
2007-05-07 09:14:17
The Bachelor, An Officer and a Gentleman: Preview. Last week Andy sent home Stephanie and Tina. He never really connected with Tina and he didn’t like Stephanie’s answers regarding her plans for the future. So seeing those two leave wasn’t a huge surprise. With the loss of these two, Andy is still left with 4 lovely ladies to choose from: 1. Bevin 2. Amber 3. Tessa 4. Danielle This week should be a really good episode. Andy is going with the girls to visit their home towns. ABC has already let us in on the two big dramas tonight. Bevin tells Andy she is divorced (He’s not going to like that). For some reason, Amber’s family doesn’t meet with Amber and Andy. I’m really interested to find out why. If it wasn’t for Bevin’s big announcement my money would be on Danielle to go home. Of the four remaining girls, she is the one who Andy seems the least interested in. But, Bevin may just have shot herself in the foot by not telling ...
Lost: The Timeline and Endgame Defined
2007-05-07 08:01:34
The initially wildly popular show “Lost”, which has quickly become a wandering storyline where weeks are wasted on ping-pong battles and Alfred Hitchcock styled gaspers, has finally been given a timeline. ABC has announced that “Lost” will have an additional three seasons until its conclusion in the 2009-2010 season. Each future season will consist of 16 episodes played consecutively each week for a total of 48 future season episodes. Combine those with the remaining two this season and there are now just 50 episodes of “Lost” to go with 67 episodes already, well, down the hatch. 16 episodes per season will represent partial installments for typical season long shows which run for 23 episodes. When comparing those numbers it shows that ABC really only has about 2 seasons left of Lost but are instead dragging it out into 3 partial seasons. “Lost” executive producers/showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse and ABC Entertainm ...
Monday Morning Helper: The Soup?s iBruno Video
2007-05-07 08:00:48
Now you can comment with the same free association with a hint of sexual innuendo as Dancing with the Star’s judge Bruno Tonioli. Here’s Bruno’s new product, the iBruno, straight from the minds of The Soup: ...
More He-man Masters of the Universe: A Life Lesson
2007-05-07 06:35:46
Last week, I posted a picture of a sad thirty-something guy with his thirty-something girlfriend dressed up as He-man and She-ra from Masters of the Universe. Apparently this is more wide spread than I thought. I find this trend wholly disturbing. I especially like the red diaper. ...
HBO?s The Sopranos: The Final Episodes (episode 5) Recap and Review
2007-05-06 23:17:48
Despite the past several episodes, I had high hopes going into this one. Why? I couldn’t tell you. May be I got sucked in by the preview again. I don’t know. In any case, now that I’m done watching it ‘m not sure whether I liked this one or not. Which is an improvement as I know I didn’t care for the last two. They say that frustration is the result of unfulfilled expectations. Well I’m frustrated. Sopranos was such a good show, I have waited so long for these, and the previews look so good every week. You know, they also say that doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity. Does this mean the Sopranos is driving me crazy? YES! There were two main plot lines in this episode: AJ is a cry baby about Blanca and Christopher’s non-drinking is an issue for everyone. AJ spends most of the episode crying like a little girl because Blanca left him. Carmela is concerned, Tony thinks he sho ...
Amazing Race 11: Season Finale
2007-05-06 22:20:27
Starting positions: 1. Dustin and Kandace (D&K) 2. Eric and Danielle (E&D) 3. Charla and Mirna (C&M) First Clue: The teams started from Fort Solidad on Guam. They had to drive to airport and then catch a flight to Honolulu, Hawaii. From the airport they had to travel to the Kamaka Air Hanger take a helicopter to the Island of Lanai. There were three helicopter flights reserved, each 10 minutes apart. Once there, they had to drive themselves to the harbor and find a man in ceremonial Hawaiian dress to receive their next clue. D&K caught first flight to HI but the other teams were on a later flight that would catch up to them during the layover in Tokyo, so it looked like all three teams would arrive together in Hawaii at the same time. Or so everyone thought. C&M found another flight on a different airline in Tokyo which arrived 40 minutes earlier. The other teams freaked out when C&M weren’t on the flight with them. As a result C&M caught the ...

Weekend Movie Box Office Round-up: May 4 - May 6, 2007
2007-05-06 14:21:20
Whoa Spider-Man, nicely done, at least with your earnings. Spider-Man 3 broke plenty of box office earnings records this week. First it pulled over $59 million in its opening day. Next it bowled right past the previous debut weekend earnings record (Pirates of the Caribbean 2 with $135.6 million) with a full $148 million. That’s very impressive. Just imagine how much it could have made if it was as good as the second one! Who am I kidding? Doesn’t matter if it was good or not, this was destined to be a gold mine. Sadly, Spider-Man 3 took the lion’s share this weekend and didn’t leave much for its competitors. “Disturbia” held onto a top ranking spot, but did finally fall from #1 after three weeks to #2 with $5.7 million this time around. Nicolas Cage’s stinker, “Next”, slide down to #5 with $2.8 million. That leads nicely into the #6 spot where we find our other new release from this weekend, “Lucky You̶ ...
Sunday Brunch: Weekend Site Roundup
2007-05-06 10:00:09
It’s Sunday again, so I’m going to leave it to others to provide the entertainment today. Here I’ve gathered up posts and sites from places I’ve visited during the week. Getting your name on the Top Commentator list here is a great way for us & others to find you. Chugs & Jugs: Busta Rhymes has found himself and his Hennessey in a little trouble. Just one shot did Busta in. Everyday Weekender: I missed The Reaping as it passed through theaters, but I’ll admit that it had a might good looking trailer. Check out EW’s review of The Reaping and see if it was as good as the trailer or not. My Retirement Project: I can’t believe how much Spider-Man 3 is reported to have cost for production + marketing + intensive CGI to de-fug Kirsten Dunst. MRP has the details on Spider-Man 3’s final numbers. HMTK: HMTK has a great write-up on Hiro’s current time travel predicament on, well, Heroes. Yeah, I already went through the ...
Weekend Humor: Japanese Library Game Show Video
2007-05-05 12:00:41
Okay, clearly I can’t get enough of these clips from Japanese game shows. Here the contestants are playing some type of card game and the loser gets subjected to a painful punishment. But take note, they are playing in the library, so that means no noise. Shhhh! Where do they come up with this stuff?? ...

Entertainment Week In Review: April 30 - May 4
2007-05-05 10:00:42
See what you missed over the past week, April 30 - May 4, in entertainment news and reviews. Monday: Just 2 more years until Conan O’Brien takes over for Jay Leno at The Tonight Show. Tuesday: Spider-Man 2 is re-released as Spider-Man 2.1, but is it just marketing hype? Wednesday: Gisele Bundchen is parting ways with Victoria’s Secret over a contract dispute. Thursday: Isaiah Washington turns from gay bashing to gay promoting. Why GLAAD would want that, I don’t know. Friday: Viacom continues to search for that extra buck and puts its junk, I mean show collectibles up for auction. Once again, a lot happened this week. Next week try to stay hip and popular by visiting Wild Bluff Media each day so you don’t miss anything else along the way. All the other kids are doing it. You do want to be cool, don’t you? ...

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Trailer
2007-05-05 08:00:40
Very sweet. Call of Duty is getting another installment in its series of great war theme, FPS games. This time we’ll be leaving WWII behind and, as the title states, heading into modern warfare. The speculation is that it’ll be a fall 2007 release, which seems pretty reasonable. Check out the Call of Duty 4 trailer below and get more details over at CharlieOscarDelta.com, if you don’t mind registering to get to the real meat. ...
