Celebrity Apprentice Keeps It Going - Video
2008-01-10 08:00:26
Celebrity Apprentice launched last week on NBC and in all the rush I missed the premiere episode. Lucky for me, and maybe you, NBC.com is going to put up all the episodes in full to watch online. They’ve also included some deleted scenes and you can check one of those out below. Tonight’s episode sends the celebrities out on behalf of four legged critters, apparently not including Omarosa herself. Weird. The celebrity candidates are charged to produce a TV commercial for a pet-adoption program. Ivanka Trump and CEO Terry Lundgren oversee the project. So last week it came down to which celebrity could call in the biggest favor for the hot dog sales. It sounds like this week will help get around that as otherwise this could be a flat season when it comes down to star power alone. I’m hoping Gene Simmons doesn’t get himself into too much trouble as he’ll be entertaining to keep around. So keep those paws off Ivanka, alright? Want more deleted scen ...
American Idol’s Taylor Hicks Dropped From J Records
2008-01-09 12:36:42
Despite Taylor Hicks’ ability to go platinum with his 2006 debut album “Taylor Hicks” following his win on American Idol Season 6 he has been dropped from his label, J Records. Hicks isn’t the only American Idol winner to be dropped either as J Records revealed Ruben Studdard would also be joining him on the plank walk. Apparently Studdard had been dropped months and months ago, but not even that made newslines until now. “Taylor is going to record on his own for the next album,” J Records’ Liz Morentin wrote in an email Monday. “Ruben Studdard is still signed to 19 Entertainment [the production/management company behind Idol], and is currently working on his new album, however it will not be distributed by J Records.” I guess that just goes to show all those haters who said Hicks wasn’t a big star are finally proven wrong. Wait, what? Last season’s winner, Jordin Sparks, could be following a similar path as her ...

Gossip Girl: Episode 13 “Thin Line Between Chuck and Nate” Preview
2008-01-09 10:00:07
Gossip Girl returns for its thirteenth episode tonight entitled “Thin Line Between Chuck and Nate” and if you’ve been watching the show then it won’t be hard to guess who is the cause of the hate between those two. Ah yes, the not so lovely Blair. Last week Chuck promised Blair he’d hang their secret over her head to ruin her relationship with Nate. Eventually Blair told him to stuff it and tried to go on with her relationship anyways. Well this week Chuck isn’t taking all of that lightly and clearly still seems to be hung up on Blair. It’ll all come crashing down on Blair when Chuck reveals quite the nasty truth about Blair to the Gossip Girl. Thin Line Between Chuck and Nate - Gossip Girl takes pleasure in reporting that Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) was spotted buying pregnancy tests. Of course, on the Upper East Side, the truth is often even juicier and more scandalous than the gossip, and this time is no exception. Leight ...
Crowned: Episode 5 “Smile Like You Mean It” Preview
2008-01-09 08:00:43
Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants returns for its fifth episode tonight on The CW. Last week we saw team “Goal Getters” (previously known as “Sassy Sisters”) desashed by rival team “Dream Gals”. The pressure continues tonight from the previews we’ve seen. The lovely mother and daughter pair of Angela and Tenia will be right back at it as we see them heckling the other girls during this week’s challenge “smile like you mean it.” Those two are right up there with Patty and Laura for my “hope they go soon” list. With just seven pairs left I’m still putting my chips down on the “Gifted Dolls” with Rachelle and Mindy as the top runners for winning this season. They better not slow down though as I’m thinking the “Dream Gals” aren’t far behind them. Here’s a preview summary for tonight’s episode of Crowned: The contestants learn that there are six differe ...
Big Brother 9: Casting Complete As Season Nears, Rumors Abound
2008-01-08 12:00:11
The Big Brother 9 season gets closer and closer with each step. This time the step was completing the casting process for the first time winter installment of the voyeuristic reality series. Sorry all you audition hopefuls that didn’t get the call and congratulations to those who did. The message came out from Big Brother’s casting director, Robyn Kass, on her MySpace page: BB9 finalists…. Thanks, once again, to everyone who auditioned for BB9! We had a fantastic turn out and the decisions were tough. This is to inform you that all BB9 finalists have been contacted already. If you did not receive a call remember…. just because you’re not right for the mix this season doesn’t mean you won’t be right for the next season. Don’t give up! Thanks for your support of the show! Robyn [Kass] While the casting might have wrapped up the usual early rumors have just begun. Arkansas Online was reporting that local Tony Westbrook, a 33 year old assisted living worker ...
One Tree Hill Season 5 Premiere “4 Years, 6 Months, 2 Days” Tonight
2008-01-08 11:00:43
Remember when Saved By The Bell went to the college years? Yeah, it was painful. CW’s series One Tree Hill has decided to take the high road on that seemingly natural progression in post high school storylines and with season 5 they’ll flash forward more than four years to when the OTH characters are faced with “real world” challenges, obstacles, and even successes. From watching the screener copy of tonight’s One Tree Hill season premiere (8pm - 10pm on CW), what I can tell you is that a lot has changed for the characters. It was interesting to see where the writers took each of the individuals with such a wide span of creative liberty. For a few of them the changes have been drastic, including at least one life altering event that I am not allowed to discuss and is well disguised for several of the character’s scenes before being revealed. Heck, there’s a ton of big changes that will be surprising enough that I’m not allowed to re ...
Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare: Game Review
2008-01-08 10:00:07
As I had hoped I received Call of Duty 4 for the XBox 360 for Christmas. I have been a huge fan of the Call of Duty series but I was especially excited about this one for two reasons.First, I played COD 1-3 on Gamecube so I couldn’t wait to try one out on the 360. Second, unlike previous COD titles which are all based on World War II, COD 4 was based on Modern Warfare. The idea being you get to play real-world scenarios, fighting terrorists in Iraq etc. All of the COD titles have been extremely high quality so I couldn’t wait to see their take on modern warfare. I finished the game over the weekend. I have to say I was not disappointed. I probably could have had it done sooner but, I was enjoying it so much I didn’t want to rush it. The graphics and realism were awesome and I would have been crushed if they hadn’t been. It was loads of fun to get to play in scenarios which look like they had been pulled straight from CNN. I also enjoyed having M-16 with laser s ...

Hannah Montana Fakes Concerts: Body Doubles & Lip-Sync’s - Video
2008-01-07 19:48:23
Remember those multi-hundred dollar you bought so your screaming teeny-bopper could join other screaming teeny-boppers? Well it turns out those hard earned dollars went towards quite the faked concert. First off is the obvious & usual concert fake out: lip-syncing, but the real nasty trick here is Hannah Montana is using a body double in the middle of her performances (watch the video below). Considering she’s not even singing it seems like this 15 year old should have the energy to dance on stage herself for a full two hours. OK! Magazine reports the details: Miley has not only been lip-syncing to her own songs, she’s also been using a not very convincing “Hannah” double to cover for her on-stage while she goes off to make a costume change. “When it got the to bridge of the song “We Got the Party,” her dancers began to crowd around her,” one ticked-off Miley fan tells OK!. “Then they covered her with a black sheet an ...

Leno on WGA Hit List
2008-01-07 10:00:22
This weekend, Sherry Goldman, spokeswoman for the Writers Guild of America, said that the WGA is planning on targeting late night talk show host Jay Leno for crossing the strike lines. Since his return, Leno has been writing and performing his own material on The Tonight Show. While there has been no report on just what action the WGA plans to take against Leno, he and the other late night talk show hosts have been facing a lack of available guests since their return to the airwaves. WGA members have started pressuring high-profile guests to avoid talk-show appearances. In response, The Tonight Show has stopped announcing its guest list for the upcoming weeks. Now, the big question is how much longer can the strike continue? WGA members have been on the street unpaid for months now. While many of the network’s premiere shows have gone on hiatus the networks have managed to keep viewers entertained by airing a slew of new reality and game shows. In the end who is really get ...

Britney’s Big Adventure Timelined For Your Enjoyment
2008-01-04 13:39:30
Update: Britney Spears has lost both legal and physical custody of her children. When 2008 starts out with a “thank goodness K-Fed has custody of those kids” the rest of the year can’t go well… Thank goodness for OK! Magazine and their ability to note all this Britney craziness into a timeline for the rest of us. While Britney’s mental state may be in question, one thing is for sure, that girl is crazy. Right now she remains under constant monitoring, the same treatment given to suicide attempt cases. That doesn’t mean she tried that, just that they think she could. 7 p.m.: K-Fed’s security team arrives to pick up boys Sean Preston and Jayden James and bring them back to their father’s house. When there is a delay in releasing the boys, Britney’s assistant, Carla, makes excuses for the pop star. However, it soon becomes clear that there is a problem. At some point, 2-year-old Sean Preston is removed from the house, leaving ...

Vanessa Hudgens Discusses Nude Photo Aftermath
2008-01-04 09:00:17
A few months ago the Internet was treated to some nude photos of High School Musical’s own Vanessa Hudgens. Shortly after the details emerged that it was Hudgens herself that released the photos through some not too selective emails. Now we’re a few months down that road and Vanessa, while reluctant, is finally speaking out about those images, how they’ve influenced her situation, and even what her mother thought of it. In an interview with Seventeen magazine Vanessa says: I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me. I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. It was something that was meant to be private, and even though it isn’t anymore, I’d still like to keep it as private as I can. It was very traumatic, and I am extremely upset it happened. I hope all my fans can learn from my mistake and make smart decisions. So yeah, she screwed up and did a dumb thing, but I’m gl ...
