Interview with Curtis Hanson - Director of ?Lucky You?
2007-05-18 09:00:08
Just the other weekend “Lucky You” came out against strong opposition (Spider-Man 3), now I’m wishing I had gone to see this instead! If you missed “Lucky You” and are interested in seeing a little more “behind the scenes” angle then take a look at this interview from LX.TV where SuChin Pak sat down with LY’s director Curtis Hanson to discuss the film: ...
American Idol: Top 10 Events of Season 6 - Part 2
2007-05-18 08:00:25
It just wouldn’t be American Idol without all the big events throughout the season. Some of them were shockers, or nearly shockers, some were hilarious, and some of them I could have easily done without. Today we’ll going through the final 5 as part 2 of our Top 10 Events of American Idol Season 6. If you missed yesterday’s installment, you can go back and see Events 10-6 here. Here they are, the rest of our Top 10 Events of American Idol Season 6 Countdown: #5 - Blake Lewis’ Bon Jovi Remix I don’t try to hide my dislike for Blake Lewis’ musical performances, but that doesn’t keep me from recognizing how popular he is for his creativity. Through the season Blake began to display more and more of his beatboxing approach to the performances. Then, during Bon Jovi week Blake put on what could easily be considered the riskiest performance of the season with his remix of “You Give Love a Bad Name”. Although he used a comput ...

The Bachelor: Lt. Andy?s Life in the Military
2007-05-18 07:00:50
The Bachelor, An Officer and a Gentleman: A Wild Bluff Media Special Report ABC has made a big deal this year’s Bachelor being an ‘Officer and a Gentleman”. A lieutenant in the Navy to be exact. We got a very brief sanitized look at Lt. Andy Baldwin M.D.’s life in the Navy during this week’s episode. They have mentioned a number of times that Andy is part of a navy Special Operations Diving Unit but, what exactly does all of this mean? Wild Bluff Media with the help of our military advisers decided to see what we could figure our based on the clues we had. Obviously we have no access to his military records so this analysis was performed strictly on the information gathered from clips of the show and publicly available pictures and data on the internet. No one related to the U.S. Navy, ABC, or Andy Baldwin was consulted. In some instances are guesses may be wrong. This being the internet I’m sure you’ll let us know if you find errors. If you ha ...

Coming Soon: Resident Evil Extinction - Trailer & Details
2007-05-17 12:00:18
As much as I loved the first Resident Evil movie, not because it was that great but because it worked hard to meet details of the games, I’m not so sure about this third installment. The second movie was okay, but since the first one they’ve ditched the Raccoon City feel of the games and taken this all over the place. This third movie is set around the desert and looks to me to be more of a zombie, post-apocalyptic movie than a Resident Evil movie. Oh I’ll still see it of course, but more likely I’ll wait for it on DVD. Resident Evil: Extinction Plot: Alice, now in hiding in the Nevada desert, once again joins forces with Carlos Olivera and L.J., along with new survivors Claire, K-Mart and Nurse Betty to try to eliminate the deadly virus that threatens to make every human being undead…and to seek justice. Since being captured by the Umbrella Corporation, Alice has been subjected to biogenic experimentation and becomes genetically altered, with su ...
American Idol: Top 10 Events of Season 6 - Part 1
2007-05-17 10:00:21
It just wouldn’t be American Idol without all the big events throughout the season. Some of them were shockers, or nearly shockers, some were hilarious, and some of them I could have easily done without. Today we’ll take a look at the first half of our Top 10 Events of American Idol Season 6. Then tomorrow we’ll let you see the rest of what made this season of American Idol so entertaining. Here we go with our countdown, starting at #10… #10 - LaKisha Kisses Simon Somehow, after that chest rub, Simon managed to save some love to share around with the rest of the show. Right after LaKisha Jones’ redeeming performance of “This Ain’t a Love Song” during the second Top 6 Performance Show Simon told her he could kiss her after that. LaKisha promptly charged off the stage and planted a big kiss right on Simon’s lips. I think he enjoyed it! While I can’t encourage Simon to kiss all of the contestants, this display of af ...

The Bachelor: Is It Spoiled?
2007-05-17 08:59:47
The Bachelor, An Officer and a Gentleman If your checking out this site you are probably an internet savvy Bachelor fan. Therefore you have probably come across the story claiming that the lady Andy proposed has blown the finale by telling a reporter over a few drinks that she is the one. Just in case you haven’t heard the story, don’t worry, I won’t spoil it here. At this point, its still just a rumor anyway in my opinion. Neither ABC nor Andy have will confirm or deny it. There is always that chance that this is an internet hoax or a stalking horse for ABC. It wouldn’t be the first time false information was published on the internet for fun or purposefully leaked to gain publicity. Don’t believe everything you read on the internet (Unless you read it here of course!) What do I think? I think its probably true. Does that mean I won’t be watching Monday night? No, of course not. I’ll be watching Monday night. First of all, I’ll wan ...
Stephen King?s Best Rock Songs Ever
2007-05-17 08:07:33
My favorite author, Stephen King, has put out his list of Top 25 rock songs of all time. I couldn’t possibly pass up giving these a go and seeing what he thought. In the interest of space I’ve narrowed the list to his Top 10, but the rest are available on EW if you’d like. All included commentary comes from the King, not me. #10 - ”A BIG HUNK O’ LOVE,” Elvis Presley Almost eclipsed by Elvis’ screaming vocal is the rock era’s best barrelhouse piano. #9 - ”BIP BOP BOOM,” Mickey Hawks Under two minutes and still the greatest rockabilly record ever made. #8 - ”LET’S HAVE A PARTY,” Wanda Jackson That raspy, frantic vocal has never been equaled. Ms. Jackson makes Beyoncé look like Britney. #7 - ”NEW ORLEANS,” Gary U.S. Bonds Terrific recorded-in-a-bathroom reverb, insanely danceable backbeat. Earl Swanson’s sax is the Special Bonus Feature. #6 - ”RAMROD,” B ...
American Idol: Top 3 Results Show Recap - May 16, 2007
2007-05-16 21:06:57
Tonight on American Idol’s Results Show we’ll find out which contestants claims the #3 spot for this season and which two will move on to next week’s finale show. Earlier today I discussed my predictions on what to anticipate tonight and I’m standing by those expectations. Last night’s performances didn’t sway much from what we’ve grown to expect from each contestant over the season. Blake beatboxed, Jordin showed off her energy, and Melinda gave solid performances. Although there was not a musical coach this week we’ll still get some guest performers. Tonight those performers will be Elliot Yamin performing “Wait for You” and Maroon 5 will be here to sing “Makes Me Wonder”. Other than that and the one reveal results I guess we’re going to get hit with a lot of filler material. Let’s see how it goes. Well I guess it was unavoidable, we get lots of filler content tonight. The show takes a r ...

NBC Fall 2007 Television Line-Up Preview: Journeyman & Life
2007-05-16 12:00:54
Yesterday we took a look at two other new shows which will be part of the NBC fall 2007 line up: Bionic Woman & Chuck. Today I get to give you a peak at two other new shows for the fall 2007 line up: Journeyman & Life. First up is Journeyman. This is another drama and focuses on a man that is jumping back and forth through time, all the while affecting the people he meets. Wow, if only someone had already thought of this like maybe back from 1989 to 1993 and called it Quantum Leap. I loved that show back in the day, so this show has a lot to measure up against if it wants to pull me in. It does, however, star Kevin McKidd, who played Lucius Vorenus on HBO?s Rome, so if you liked him there and want to see more this is your chance (HBO’s Rome got canceled). If you’re still interested, here are the details on Journeyman from NBC.com: Dan Vasser thought he had it all: a loving wife, a great son and a steady job. But life suddenly throws him a curve ball. ...
Maxim?s Hottest Woman Chosen by Blind Men
2007-05-16 11:51:09
Maxim Magazine one of the world’s premiere men’s magazines and my personal favorite has announced their top 10 hottest women of 2007. After looking at who they picked as the number one hottest women in the world, I have to assume that she was selected by a panel of men who were completely blind! A couple of these women are super hot but are not top 10 worthy. Others, especially their #1 pick have no #1 Lindsay Lohan No way! I guess I’m just not into the drunken, crack-whore look. Why not add Paris and Britney too? #2 Jessica Alba Absolutely! #3 Scarlett Johansson Most definitely! #4 Christina Aguilera Yes!, Jessica, Scarlett, and Christina should have been 1, 2, and 3 #5 Jessica Biel Not any more. #6 Ali Larter I’m OK with Ali, I might have put her a little lower. #7 Eva Mendes Hot but, there’s no chance she’s top 10 material. #8 Rihanna Yeh, I like that. #9 Eva Longoria Close ...
American Idol: Top 3 Vote Off Prediction - May 16, 2007
2007-05-16 10:00:47
Last night’s performances by the Top 3: Blake Lewis, Jordin Sparks, and Melinda Doolittle were definitely some of the bests we’ve had all season, and they should be. We’ve reached the point where the strongest singers have been established and the fat has been cut away. Each performer was very consistent with how they’ve shown their strengths and unique abilities. Jordin Sparks continued to put a lot of energy into her three songs and I’m torn between her first and third performance for her best of the night. Her first performance, “Wishing On A Star”, was so well done but it was her third performance, “I, Who Have Nothing”, really got me. I’m wondering though if I liked the third song so much because I had already heard her perform this during the season. Either way, I’m confident that Jordin Sparks won’t be left standing in the center stage tonight. Just by judging from the votes placed here on our ...

Halo 3 Launch Date Announced
2007-05-16 09:20:25
Microsoft announced on Tuesday that Halo 3 will be hitting the shelves on September 25, 2007. Get your XBOX 360 ready as this will be the final installment in the trilogy. Microsoft is already grinning with what they expect to really dig into Sony’s Christmas sales. “This is going to be a critical holiday for us versus Sony, especially on the console generation side, and they don’t really have an answer for ‘Halo 3′,” Shane Kim, head of Microsoft Game Studios, said in an interview. The hype for this game has been building steadily. Hundreds of thousands of people have already signed up for the beta testing. Pre-orders have also been very encouraging for Microsoft. All I know is that now I definitely need to angle for a 360 and that this game better take longer than the second one. Halo 2 was awesome, but people were finishing it in a day. I had to pace myself and only allow one level or so a day and I still beat it way too fast. If you r ...
