New “Indiana Jones 4: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” Photo Released
2008-01-15 15:36:57
Spielberg has released another Indiana Jones 4 “The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” photo from the set to tease us along until its May 22, 2008 release. Despite the lack of description given along with the photo I’m fairly confident this is from the part of the movie where Indiana and Shia arrive at this year’s Golden Globes awards show. Check out the previously released photos for Indy 4 here. I’m expecting a real trailer any week now as we’re just a little over four months until the movie’s release. Dane Cook’s New Movie “Dead Already” Is Already Dead To Me
2008-01-15 12:00:24
Make no mistake. Dane Cook is not funny. Not even close. The fact that he keeps getting work in Hollywood, much less anywhere, is as much of a mystery to me as Uwe Boll’s ability to find projects. So when I hear of yet another Cook disaster vehicle it makes me shudder. Today is no different as I learned from an interview between MTV and Dane “Not Funny” Cook: Cook teased, saying he’s getting ready to give the Superfinger to crime in “Dead Already,” a buddy cop movie “in the vein of ‘Lethal Weapon.’” “It’s got a really interesting take-off from the typical buddy cop movie which has been done in so many ways. This definitely had an element that was like, ‘Wow, I’ve never seen that before,’” he said of the script, which he’s currently looking at as a starring vehicle. “You got some crazy stunts and action sequences, but you got some comedy in there too. We’ll see if we can get it off the ground, but I certainly would like to play ...
American Idol Returns Tonight; Can It Make A Star This Season?
2008-01-15 11:18:30
American Idol returns tonight on FOX (8/7c) with a two hour premiere and the big job of trying to turn out a mega star as its winner. Allegedly the list of Top 50 Spoilers was leaked, so we may or may not have an idea of who will be up for the coveted top spot and record deal. While winning American Idol is no easy task it seems to be the real challenge lately is turning that winner into a bona fide pop culture superstar. Sure, everyone involved wants another Carrie Underwood, but most would settle for a top billboard ranker that doesn’t get dropped from J Records after his or her first album. In recent weeks the news has hit that Taylor Hicks was recently dropped from J Records while Ruben Studdard quietly vanished from their line-up months ago. Then there’s Jordin Sparks who broke onto the billboard ratings in 10th place with less than half the sales (119K vs 298K, opening week) of her predecessor, Hicks. While that’s obviously still an impressive feat I&rsquo ...

One Tree Hill Season 5 Episode 2 “My Way Home Is Through You”
2008-01-15 11:00:09
One Tree Hill continues its return with the second episode in its fifth season tonight on The CW and boy, oh boy do they have everyone’s favorite guest star lined up. Kevin Federline is going to star in a multi-episode storyline as a, get this, “problematic musician”. That’s like asking Amy Winehouse to come on and play a bottomed out druggie. After witnessing Federline’s attempt at acting when he showed up on CSI I learned the best thing that can come from him is a cop punching him in the face. Sadly, I don’t think that’ll happen in tonight’s show, though it’d be awesome if that was part of every TV gig he got. Instead we’ll have to settle for Peyton trying to land ol’ Fed-Ex in part of her big plan to impress the boss and earn some credit so someone else can get stuck picking up lunch. “My Way Home Is Through You” One Tree Hill episode details: KEVIN FEDERLINE GUEST STARS AS A PROBLEMATIC MUSICIAN — ...
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Review
2008-01-15 10:30:31
After watching part 2 of the premiere last night, I now feel prepared to pass judgment on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Like everyone else in the world I loved the terminator movies. Who didn’t right? So I thought it was cool that they were going to try to bring it to television. Obviously you always run a risk when you do that because there is never the same production budget and you can’t do all the same things on television that you can in the theater (except maybe on HBO). I liked the way they connected the storyline between where the movies left off and the show picks up. If you didn’t see it the show begins in 1999 two years after the end of the last film. After a new terminator attack The characters jump ahead into the future (well, modern day for us, 2007) to shake off the pursuit of the robots and the authorities. Now in the present day John Connor can get on with his life and Sarah can continue to prepare him for the future. So far the story ...

Nicole Kidman to join Lost in Space cast?
2008-01-15 07:00:58
Oops, my bad. She just looks like she’s going to be on Lost in Space. Actress Nicole Kidman arrived at the Australian Premiere of ‘The Golden Compass’ in December at the State Theater in Sydney, Australia dressed in this metallic silver pants suit. Now I’m no fashion buff but even I know that dressing up like you’re part of a 1960’s sci-fi show is not OK unless your going to a comic convention. Oh wait, thats right, IT’S NEVER OK! Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Pre-Review
2008-01-14 17:51:48
I caught the first episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles last night. I was really looking forward to this series and yet at the same time I was worried. With the writers strike on you never know what the quality of the shows they will be allowing on air. They were also publicizing this one pretty heavily which is usually the hallmark of a show that the networks are concerned about. I was delightfully surprised to see that episode one at least lived up to my expectations. This was actually a pretty good show. The second part of the premiere airs tonight at 8/7c on FOX. I definitely plan on catching it. I’ll do a more in depth review tomorrow after I’ve seen the second half of the premiere. In case you missed part one last night you still have time to see it at FOX On Demand. Here is a preview trailer for tonight’s episode: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Series Trailer: Check out the rest of our TV Coverage. Feed Readers: click here to view ...
American Gladiators On NBC Continues To Entertain In Its Return
2008-01-14 12:00:19
I was excited months ago when I heard American Gladiators was returning to television and its arrival last week didn’t let me down. Nearly everything I loved about the original series was back in this version plus all the new challenges has made it a very satisfying show to watch. The big names of Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali was a great idea and thankfully doesn’t seem to take as much attention away from the show as I thought it might. There is definitely a lot heavier focus on the contenders themselves than before as we get more details and sideshow clips of them discussing their motivations and background. I guess this was done to get us invested in the contenders as those that will win will return for the semi-finals in a few months. As far as the challenges, some have stayed the same, some have been upgraded, and some just don’t make sense to me. Out of the completely new challenges I like the pyramid the best as that looks hard as anything. All one of the ...

Wednesday: Taylor Hicks made of won American Idol, but he’s still having a rough time as he was just dropped by his label, J Records. Thursday: Celebrity Apprentice is in full blast as it returned for its second episode, which thankfully relied less on its stars’ star power than the first week. People’s Choice Canned
2008-01-11 08:00:47
As you probably have heard by this point the Award’s Ceremony for the People’s Choice Awards was canceled due to the Writers Guild of America strike. Although to be honest I never really understood what the writers did on these shows anyway. To be honest the off the cuff comments are much better and the canned stuff the writers provide is awful. In fact I would say it is the worst party of these shows. The awards were announced in a taped event Tuesday night and hosted by Queen Latifa. The Golden Globes have been canceled and the Academy Awards are also questionable this year. Once again I will reiterate my biggest complaint about the WGA strike. Who is it hurting? So the People’s Choice Awards/Golden Globes/Academy Awards ceremonies were cancelled. I’m sure the networks lost some money, but the canned versions are still expected garner about half of the viewership of live ceremonies televised in the past. Are audiences up in arms over this? Not really. I m ...
Coming Soon: Drillbit Taylor - Trailer & Details
2008-01-10 12:00:40
I hope you’re not tired of Judd Apatow influenced movies ’cause here comes another one with “Drillbit Taylor”. While Apatow isn’t the director he helped ready the script which was turned over to his budding writers, Seth Rogen and Kristofor Brown. Rogen co-wrote Superbad, which I loved, and from the trailer it looks like a lot of his style can been seen in this one too. I’m glad to see Owen Wilson back in the saddle following his situation late this past summer. Next week I promise I’ll find something Apatow isn’t attached to, but these days that seems like a challenge. Drillbit Taylor - Details: Release Date: March 21, 2008 Genre: Comedy Starring: Owen Wilson, Josh Peck, Alex Frost Director: Steven Brill Expected Rating: PG-13 for crude sexual references throughout, strong bullying, language, drug references and partial nudity Drillbit Taylor - Plot: When two freshmen are tormented by a bully during their first day of high schoo ...

Hannah Montana: Concert Review
2008-01-10 09:00:35
I originally was not going to post on this but, with all of the controversy over Hannah Montana’s concerts I figured I’d throw in my 2 cents too. Monday night my wife and daughter went to go see Hannah Montana (a.k.a., Miley Cyrus) in concert in Washington, DC. The seats they had were fairly high up but they still had a great view of the stage. Since we only paid about $50 a ticket you can’t really complain too much. I have seen reports of protesters outside of her concerts protesting the high ticket prices. No one we knew who went to the concert encountered any of them though. My guess is the news made this out to be be much more than it was (as usual). The crowd was primarily pre-teen girls with their parents. Apparently there were a few boys scattered throughout the audience but not many. My guess is that most of them had sisters in attendance. This is obviously a typical crowd for a Hannah Montana concert as they had converted all of the men’s rooms in ...
