Age of Love: Episode 2 ?Meet the Kittens? Recap - June 25, 2007
2007-06-25 21:39:50
Tonight, in the second episode of Age of Love, NBC’s new Reality TV show, Mark Philippoussis, 30, will continue his quest for romance as he dates two different groups of women. The first group, Cougars, which we met last week are our “older women” with ages ranging from 39 to 48. The second group of women, Kittens, will be introduced to Mark and us and range from 21 to 27 years old. With Mark caught somewhere in between it’ll be an interesting season to see who he picks and if he can answer, “Does age matter?”
Wasting no time the show leaps right into Mark getting to finally meet the Kittens down by the poolside. What a perfect chance for them to show off their bikinis! Keep in mind the Cougars have no idea of what Mark is up to right now or that there is even a second group of younger women. So let’s run down our list Kittens: Lauren 27, Adelaide (really?) 26, Amanda 25, Mary 24, Tessa 23, and Megan 21. Here’s the Kittens ...

Tom Sizemore Gets 16 Months in the Pokey
2007-06-25 16:40:26
It looks like the California court system has finally got the guts to stand up to that bully “Fame and Fortune”. Actor Tom Sizemore, 45, has been sentenced to 16 months in state prison for violating his parole due to methamphetamines police found in his car.
Gee, can’t this guy catch a break? Wait, what’s that? Oh nevermind. The Associated Press reports:
Sizemore was convicted in 2003 of domestic violence involving his ex-girlfriend, former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss. He remained free pending an appeal.
In October 2004, he pleaded guilty to a felony count of possession of a controlled substance identified as methamphetamine and was placed on probation. The probation was revoked in 2005 when Sizemore was caught using a prosthetic device during a drug test.
His probation was later reinstated, but he tested positive for drug use last year and was given another three years’ probation, authorities said.
Nice, there’s a hit in there for each yea ...

2007-06-25 12:00:24
It’s another week of television shows coming at you and we’re here to help. Here’s a break down by night of what you need to be sure to catch and what’s going on this week, June 25 - 29, 2007. Lots of reality TV again this week along with a few series running through the summer. I’ve really been enjoying Pirate Master and Hell’s Kitchen. I’m also really getting pumped up for Big Brother 8 coming soon. Take a look and see what other shows you don’t want to miss this week.

Age of Love: Episode 2 ?Meet the Kittens? Preview - June 25, 2007
2007-06-25 10:00:51
Here we go with round 2 of NBC’s Age of Love starring Mark Philippoussis, 30, as the daring bachelor who must face off between two groups of women: the Kittens in their 20s and the Cougars in their 40s. Week by week he’ll send one of the ladies home until he’s made his final decision to select from one group. Last week we saw Mark come to the realization that he was on no ordinary dating show (The Bachelor has already been done!) as he was introduced to 40+ year old women, one after another.
The episode from last week went pretty as Mark only had to deal with the 7 Cougars. Spending some time amongst them the first night he got a lot of backgrounds and stories out of the ladies and he actually seemed to enjoy it. I’ve still gotta think that as a 30 year old it’d feel like you were spending the evening with your parents’ friends when there are 46 and 48 year old women there.
There was only one chance at a date before the first “send o ...

Pirate Master?s Hidden Treasure: The Island of Dominica
2007-06-25 09:00:37
With the swashbuckling antics of the crew of cutthroats keeping everyone entertained very few viewers have focused on the lush island which is serving as the backdrop for the premiere season of Pirate Master. The island nation of Dominica is probably one few Caribbean islands without endless lines of resorts up and down its beaches. Much of the island is protected as national wilderness.
Dominica natural beauty has earned it the nickname “Nature Isle of the Caribbean”. The island features lush mountainous rainforests with many beautiful waterfalls. Dominica is also the home of many exotic birds, plants, and animals. Mountainous, densely forested, and exotic birds. The island of Dominica is still volcanically active. The geothermal-volcanic activity provide visitors with numerous one of a kind attractions such as boiling hot springs, geysers, and black-sand beaches. The diving is said to be phenomenal. Divers can experience coral reefs and rare fish while diving in a ...

Hell?s Kitchen Preview: Season 3 Episode 4 - 6/25/07
2007-06-25 09:00:00
Last week neither of the teams did well during the dinner service. It was the red team which had the major malfunctions though. Joanna was making up some tasty appetizers with rancid crab meat. (Mmmm, mmmm.) Chef Ramsey had a fit about this. Jen was also on the chopping block after taking some spaghetti out of the trash bin, washing it in the sink, and then recooking it to serve it again. Fortunately neither of these yummy treats made it out of the kitchen. Joanna also had trouble with the hash browns during the breakfast for the troops and the risotto at dinner so it was her that Chef Ramsey sent packing.
We also lost Aaron last week after he was sent to the hospital after passing out in the kitchen. So this week we are down to 8 chefs. Tonight, The chefs compete in a blind taste test challenge, Chef Ramsey yells at people during the dinner service (Ooh, what a surprise. Bet you couldn’t see that one coming), and Bonnie reaches her breaking point.
Check out the rest of our Hell ...

Cameron Diaz is Insensitive, Stupid
2007-06-25 08:41:05
On a recent trip to the Inca city of Machu Picchu in Peru Cameron Diaz sported a satchel bag plastered with a political slogan of Mao Zedong, the former leader of the Chinese Communist Party. The slogan, “Serve the People” is especially offensive to the citizens of Peru as CBC detailed:
The words have particular resonance in Peru, where the Maoist Shining Path movement terrorized citizens during the 1980s to early 1990s with a deadly campaign of bombings and massacres. Nearly 70,000 people died during that period.
When Diaz was made aware of her blunder she quickly switched over to her “Heil Hitler” and “I Love Satan” tote bags instead. Then she issued the following statement to Associated Press:
“I sincerely apologize to anyone I may have inadvertently offended. The bag was a purchase I made as a tourist in China and I did not realize the potentially hurtful nature of the slogan printed on it.”

Eddie Murphy & Melanie Brown Baby Daddy Saga Concludes
2007-06-25 08:00:22
Eddie Murphy just can’t catch a break with this whole baby daddy thing with Melanie Brown. Let’s review. Eddie Murphy and Melanie Brown were dating back in the summer of 2006. A few months later they suddenly split and Murphy was spotted out with a new lady, leaving Brown single and pregnant. First Brown claimed he was the father, which he denied on camera while making a not-so-friendly comment about needing a blood test to prove that. So, once the baby was born Melanie added him as the father right on the birth certificate. Sounds like she felt pretty sure, right? A week later she named the newborn after Murphy as well: Angel Iris Murphy Brown. Two weeks later Melanie Brown decided to apply legal pressure and forced him through the courts to submit to DNA testing to prove whether or not Murphy was the actual father of little Angel.
Phew. Got all that? Good. Well the results are finally in and guess what… Eddie Murphy is the father of 2 month old An ...

Weekend Movie Box Office Earnings Round-up: June 22 - 24, 2007
2007-06-24 19:50:10
This wasn’t the week to include the word “mighty” in your movie title. The blockbuster hopeful Evan Almighty, which cost a reported $250 million (another places report $175M, big difference) to make, whimpered in at just $32.1 million. Compare that with the $57+ million Fantastic Four made the week before on its debut and you can consider Evan a dud. The reviews definitely weren’t heavenly on this one and so I’m not at all surprised to see it fall short of studio expectations and hopes. I was very pleased to see 1408 do so well as I didn’t expect it to overpower Evan, but taking second (just by a hair) isn’t too shabby. This Stephen King short story adaptation was pretty entertaining even though it might not have been the scariest movie I’ve seen. The third and final new release, A Mighty Heart, barely squeaked into the top 10 in the final spot with a meager $4 million. The reviews for this weren’t too uplifting, which ...

Entertainment Week In Review: June 18 - 22, 2007
2007-06-23 10:00:14
See what you missed over the past week, June 18 - 22, 2007, in entertainment news and reviews.
Monday: Julia Roberts and her husband, Danny Moder, welcomed their third child. Both the mother and newborn are doing very well.
Tuesday: Manhunt 2, the upcoming bloody video game, was banned from sale in the UK. Well now I’m interested.
Wednesday: More baby news with Christina Aguilera allegedly being three months pregnant. This would be her first child.
Thursday: Less than 2 weeks until Big Brother 8 starts so we’re taking a look at game styles used in the past seasons. Which approach works and which fail miserably?
Friday: Blockbuster is looking to only move forward with Blu-ray, dropping HD-DVD to the curb. Will this influence the format war, or is Blockbuster just a relic in the rental industry? Can you say Netflix?
Once again, a lot happened this week. Next week try to stay hip and popular by visiting Wild Bluff Media each day so you don’t miss anything el ...

1408: Movie Review
2007-06-22 20:54:40
1408
Director: Mikael Håfström
Starring: John Cusack, Samuel L. Jackson, Mary McCormack
Genre: Science Fiction/Fantasy, Suspense/Horror, Thriller and Adaptation
Rated: PG-13 for thematic material including disturbing sequences of violence and terror, frightening images and language.
Duration: 1 hr. 34 min.
Plot: Renowned horror novelist Mike Enslin believes only in what he can see with his own two eyes. But after a string of best-sellers discrediting paranormal events in the most infamous haunted houses and graveyards around the world, he has no real proof of life–afterlife. But Enslin’s phantom-free run of long and lonely nights is about to change forever when he checks into suite 1408 of the notorious Dolphin Hotel.
My review: As a big Stephen King fan I wasted no time getting to the theater today to see 1408. The movie is based on the short story from King’s collection, Everything’s Eventual, which probably worked out very well for it. With a only a fou ...

Indiana Jones 4: A First Look At Harrison Ford
2007-06-22 11:55:41
Wow, it has been a full 18 years since Harrison Ford has grabbed his trusty whip and donned his hat, but here he is in a first look as he reprises the role of Indiana Jones.
Straight from the film’s site IndianaJones.com:
Harrison Ford dons the familiar costume on Thursday, June 21, 2007, as the upcoming Indiana Jones adventure begins production under the direction of Steven Spielberg. The new Indiana Jones movie is set in the 1950s and stars Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett, John Hurt, Ray Winstone and Jim Broadbent. The Lucasfilm Ltd. production will be released by Paramount Pictures worldwide on May 22, 2008.
Well there has certainly been plenty of interest around this movie’s casting process. First they pick up their Indiana babe, ugh, Cate Blanchett, then there was the whole Sean Connery “Is He or Isn’t He?” issue there, which I was totally wrong on. Connery isn’t going to be back. I guess they’ll just be dropping the father character al ...
