The Dark Knight: First Look at Batman & Gear
2007-06-28 10:00:53
A month ago we were treated to a glimpse of Heath Ledger in his full makeup as The Joker. That didn’t last too long for me though and I’ve been quite ready for some more. Thankfully we’re getting just that now. Here is the first look we’ve been given of Christian Bale as he returns as Batman, The Dark Knight. His Batman outfit is newly redesigned though it looks to retain much of the original look. One of the big steps for this outfit is that it’s the very first Batman suit that has a separate head piece from the shoulders. That now makes more sense why Keaton would always spin around so much or give these strained angles to get a good view. I thought it was just him being dramatic, but it turns out none of the previous Batman actors could really turn their head! So they get all these great toys, but their peripheral vision sucks. Smart move Bruce Wayne. Well it wasn’t so much a design choice as it was just really, really hard for the ...
Pirate Master Preview - (Episode 5) 6/28/07
2007-06-28 09:00:58
Yo ho me hearty! Tonight’s voyage should be a good un’ with Capn’ Louie at the helm! Last week when Azmyth’s team lost I can’t say that I was sorry. I didn’t care for his egalitarian view of command and I hated his British accent. I’ll be interested to see how Louis does as captain. I think he was right last week. Louie is better at being a thorn in the captain’s side than he is a being captain. He is still harboring (Haha pirate pun!) a grudge against Joe Don and his allies. He managed to get rid of Cheryl last week although that was mostly her own doing. Getting angry at the folks about to judge you isn’t the smartest move ever. At least Louie can take comfort in knowing he made JD waste $7000 buying the royal pardon for nothing. Tonight, Louie’s officers, Vanessa and Sean, are arguing in front of the crew and ready to vote each other off. Joe Don will once again be a major player. With his bank roll from being capta ...

Big Brother 8: New Season, New Theme - Worst Enemies
2007-06-28 08:44:42
The Big Brother pieces are really starting to come together, finally! Here’s what we know so far: Big Brother After Dark will be available on ShoToo for audiences to catch live feed material on their TVs, a cast list was leaked and later discredited, pictures of the Alice in Wonderland themed BB House were released, and now we are finding out that this year’s theme will be: Worst Enemies. This theme was rumored back when the alleged cast list was whirling around the mill, but it turns out this part was true. So, supposedly, BB8 producers are reaching back into the pages of history to pull out worst enemies from the contestants’ school years (again allegedly , high school). This reminds me of Season 4 when we had the Ex-Factor theme which was supposed to pit ex-lovers against one another. That one kinda fizzled other than Scott’s temper tantrum that left him expelled after throwing chairs around in the backyard. I think I could see how this could work ...
Indiana Jones 4: Location Shooting in Hawaii
2007-06-28 08:00:55
Indiana Jones 4 is hot on its way to the theaters next May as filming for the next installment has just begun last week in New Mexico. There the town of Deming is being partially converted to appear as though it were Morocco in the 1950s. Soon the filming will jump over to the Hawaiian coast of Hamakua. I’m glad to see their going to keep Indy in globe trotting mode! Considering how good looking Hawaii is in Lost I imagine the filming crew will be able to take full advantage of the scenary for some pretty cool scenes. Hopefully it won’t just be scenes of Indiana Jones taking naps, reading books, and walking slowly down the beach as most 65 year olds would prefer that to dodging boulders and bullets. Last week we got our first look at Harrison Ford back in his Indy outfit. Thankfully he really doesn’t look that old in it, which has been my big concern for this movie. Speaking of too old, Sean Connery is still officially out of this sequel which was a decis ...
Beyonce Is A Rip-Off Robot/Artist
2007-06-28 06:00:34
Not much to say on this one as the videos speak for themselves quite well. Beyonce opened for the BET Awards and gee, her entrance sure does look familiar. Some might call it a complete rip off of Kylie Minogue’s 2002 Tour opener. As you can see in the video, Kylie rises onto the stage in a metal robot contraption that slowly breaks away to reveal her. Then there’s Beyonce’s BET Awards entrance which is totally different because she rises onto the stage in a metal robot contraption that slowly breaks away to reveal her. Oh, wait. Beyonce is probably home cursing that damn YouTube right now. First video is Kylie’s original and Beyonce’s knock off can be seen below it in the second video. Kudos to WWTDD for exposing this fraud. Jump to 4:57 remaining in the video below to see Kylie’s version. Jump to 7:15 in the video below to see Beyonce’s version. ...

Big Brother 8: Welcome To Your New Home, Houseguests
2007-06-27 20:19:01
Awesomeness! We finally get to peek inside with lots of pictures of the newly restyled Big Brother house for BB season 8! The show will remain in the same studio as the past two years, but as always there was a complete makeover on the whole thing. Last year was a little club-ish feeling to me and I definitely don’t get that kinda vibe at all here. Instead the producers have gone with an Alice in Wonderland approach. Um, really? That’s what all your marketing and big executive board meetings came up with? Wonderland? Yikes. Let’s hope things get better from here on! So the layout is all going to be the same. There’s the entrance which is all fancied up this year. The meeting area has fancy, schmancy couches with lots of pillows and bizarro wall hangings. A very similar kitchen, minus the purple kettles everywhere. You’ll also notice the Memory Wall, which displays all the guests, has 14 spots, so that’s our number of houseguests for thi ...
Live Free or Die Hard: Movie Review
2007-06-27 19:02:46
Live Free or Die Hard Starring: Bruce Willis, Justin Long, Timothy Olyphant, Maggie Q Director: Len Wiseman Genre: Action / Adventure / Thriller Duration: 2hr 10mins Rated: PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, language and a brief sexual situation. Plot: On the July 4th holiday, an attack on the vulnerable United States infrastructure begins to shut down the entire nation. The mysterious figure behind the scheme has figured out every modern angle — but he never figured on an old-school “analog” bug in the “digital” plan: John McClane. Yippee Ki Yay! My review: Needless to say I’ve been excited about this movie since I heard it was in development. I grew up on Die Hard movies and couldn’t wait to get another installment of these great action movies (well, calling the 2nd in the series “great” is a stretch, but you get it). Live Free or Die Hard, the fourth John McClane adventure action movie is no let down for the ...
Last Comic Standing: Plenty of Laughs; Worth a Watch
2007-06-27 12:00:20
Season 5 of Last Comic Standing started two weeks ago on NBC (Wedesdays at 9PM) and I completely missed it that first week. Lucky for me they replayed the first episode along with the second one the next week. I had never gotten into this show before despite always enjoying watching stand-up routines on Comedy Central, so I was sure if I’d really enjoy this or not. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how entertaining it was. All three judges come from past seasons of the show as actual contestants. I had never seen that before in any of these competition reality shows, but I think it worked out very well as each of them have very realistic expectations and understandings of the situation. The comedians themselves were a mixed bag, of course. Thankfully they spent more time on the good ones, but were sure to pepper in there a few stinkers through the hour. The past could of episodes have focused on the recruitment process as the judges go from city to city looking ...
Live Free or Die Hard: Opens in Theaters Today; Yippee Kay Yay!
2007-06-27 10:00:17
Well hot damn. Live Free or Die Hard (preview) opens up in theaters today well ahead of the weekend. I’ll be on my way to seeing it this afternoon and you can expect a review of it later this evening. I’m pretty psyched about this one, so I’m really hoping to not come home disappointed. If you need a few more reasons to get pumped up about it as well you can check out the sneak peek clip below from the movie, then take a look at Bruce Willis and Justin Long’s interview. But wait, there’s more! You’ve even still got a few more days to sign up to win a trip from Arby’s to L.A. to meet with a stuntman. ...
Flash is Back!
2007-06-27 09:00:46
Later this summer we will see the return of one of the most popular science fiction characters of all time, Flash Gordon. Set to premiere August 10, 2007, Flash Gordon series will be the SCI FI Channel?s newest original action-adventure series. Here’s how the SCI FI Channel’s press release described the new series: “SCI FI?s contemporized version of Flash Gordon follows the all-new adventures of Flash (Johnson) and his companions, Dale Arden and Dr. Hans Zarkov. Ordinary people thrust into extraordinary circumstances, they find themselves as Earth?s last line of defense against the forces of the merciless dictator Ming… Flash’s father was lost years ago in a science-lab accident, and taken through a rift that deposited him on another world?Ming’s world. This chance chain could result in the destruction of Earth.” I’ll be interested to see how they interpret this version of Flash Gordon. SCI FI?s new version attempts to put a R ...
Germans to Tom Cruise and Film Crew: Nein!
2007-06-27 08:00:59
The German government has denied permission to Tom Cruise and his current movie production team for access to military bases due to Cruise’s affiliation with The Scam “Church” of Scientology. Cruise was in Germany to film scenes for his upcoming WWII which deals with an attempt on Hitler’s life. Turns out the German government is a bit wiser and tougher than the U.S. government when it comes down to blocking these Scientologist clowns from operating as they’d please. According to the Associated Press, “Germany doesn’t recognize Scientology as a church. It says Scientology is a money making venture that masquerades as religion.” No kidding. Oh boy, this must really got Tom’s thetans all worked up! ...

My review: It’s been a long time since I watched Æon Flux on MTV, but I remembered it being interesting and unique, so I t ...

The Price is Wrong for Rosie O?Donnell
2007-06-26 08:00:27
In what same may consider a blessing for televisions and viewers everywhere, it looks like Rosie O’Donnell will not be taking over at the Price Is Right following Bob Barker’s recent departure after 35 years. Last week Rosie reported that she was going to sit down and talk with the show’s producers on Friday. Unfortunately Fortunately, it looks like it won’t be working out like she had hoped. Rosie left a video message on her website detailing the results: “Here’s the thing. I don’t really need a job. I’m in a weird position. I don’t need the money. I know you’re not allowed to talk about money in America, but I’m just saying I don’t.” That’s nice Rosie. Once again it’s the “Heteros” and American society repressing your desired way of life. Actually, there’s no problem talking about money in America. I think the issue is that America doesn’t like you talking ...
Hell?s Kitchen Recap and Review: Season 3 Episode 4 - 6/25/07
2007-06-25 22:27:58
center> Vinnie was hammering Jen over the debacle in the kitchen Last week when Jen pulled the spaghetti out of the trash. While Jen made a huge error in judgment, Vinnie of all the chef’s has no place to say anything as he is likely to be the next one going home. Challenge Tonight’s challenge was interesting. Each of the chefs was blind folded and had chef Ramsey place three seperate foods in their mouth one at a time. The team which identified the most food correctly wins the challenge. Chef Ramsey did this because he wanted the chefs to push their palettes to the extreme. When he said that, I thought it was going to be like watching an episode of Fear Factor instead of Hell’s Kitchen. Unfortunately, the most unusual things the chef’s had to eat were venison and bok choy. Most of the food was pretty mundane things like American cheese, boiled carrots, and pears. Never the less it was interesting to see how many items the chefs got wrong. Out of the 10 i ...
