Hell?s Kitchen Recap and Review: Season 3 Episode 6 - 7/9/07
2007-07-09 21:15:47
Tonight’s episode began with Melissa switch to the blue team. She immediately started in with, “Let me tell you something…” Rock just seems amused by having Melissa on the team. He isn’t worried at all. Jen cam eclean to that she isn’t just a pastry chef. She had worked as a chef at a number of restraunts in Philadelphia. Challenge Each team had to prepare three lobster dishes which were original and creative. Bonnie hates lobsters: touching them, killing them, etc. But she did it. Julia had some trouble as lobster isn’t usually served at the diner. Josh was not allowed to touch anything in the kitchen the Lobsters as he could not tell the difference between lobster and scallops during the taste test challenge. He “coached the hell out of Melissa” though (Rock’s words), and she actually took direction from him. In the end though, her citrus lobster salad lost to Bonnie’s grilled lobster. Rock’s buttermilk ...
Don?t Miss TV: July 9 - 13, 2007
2007-07-09 14:00:15
It’s another week of television shows coming at you and we’re here to help. Here’s a break down by night of what you need to be sure to catch and what’s going on this week, July 9 - 13, 2007. Lots of reality TV again this week along with a few series running through the summer. This week the big reality TV bomb drops for me with the start of the eighth season of Big Brother. Oh yes, Big Brother 8 is now in full swing with shows 3 nights a week. Awesome. I’ve really been enjoying Age of Love, Pirate Master, and Hell’s Kitchen. Take a look and see what shows you don’t want to miss this week. Monday: Age of Love: 8-9pm on NBC; Go Play with Someone Your Own Age; Mark has simultaneous dates with one woman from each group, but he must split his time between the two tables. Later the women plan a date for their rival group that emphasizes the age difference between them. Check out the rest of our Age of Love coverage. This is a reru ...
Age of Love: Episode 4 Preview - July 9, 2007
2007-07-09 12:00:31
Tonight on Age of Love we’ll continue our journey with Mark Philippoussis, 30, as he tries to discover if age really matters when it comes to love. Last week we saw the heat get turned up on all parties as the Kittens felt the pressure of the Cougars and Mark once again found himself caught in the crossfire. A surprising elimination round sent Lynn and Adelaide home while the annoying Mary somehow survived. Adelaide was overly confident following her smooch with Mark and was caught completely off guard when Mark informed her of his change of heart. Lynn’s departure was semi-surprising as Maria had declared her intent to walk off only to have a change of heart of her own. With only 8 ladies left, 4 Cougars and 4 Kittens, things should get even more intense. This week there are two dates (one will be like last week’s duo date fiasco, and the other a solo) at stake. First the ladies will have to compete in a triathlon for the chance to go out on a private ...
Hell?s Kitchen Preview: Season 3 Episode 6 - 7/9/07
2007-07-09 11:29:28
History was made on last week’s episode of Hell’s Kitchen when the chef’s catered a wedding. Fortunately for the lovely couple Chef Ramsay seems to have a heart and for the first time this season both kitchen’s actually managed to complete a dinner service. It was an episode of firsts as the men actually managed to win a challenge and a dinner service as well! Results I was a little disappointed in the end though when Chef Ramsay did not eliminate Melissa after she repeatedly screwed up and drove her team to the brink of insanity with her incessant nagging. I was completely annoyed with her and I only had to watch her for a few minutes at a time between commercials. He should have sent her packing instead of foisting her off onto the blue team. The guys finally got their act together and now they have to deal with her. It doesn’t seem quite fair. Although, I doubt they will put up with her nonsense the way the women did. The only thing I can figu ...
Big Brother 8: Here?s To You, Mrs. Robinson, And Your Alliance
2007-07-09 10:52:00
Foreword: Big Brother Season 8 is now in full swing and to avoid missing any current details you’ll want to check out the online, uncensored live feeds (14 day free trial) and see what is going on right now. Last night on BB8 we saw the first major alliance begin to take form as Kail, Mike, Nick, and Zach formed what has become known as Mrs. Robinson and her boys. If you’re not familiar with The Graduate it’s definitely worth renting and/or owning as I still get some good chuckles from the very young Dustin Hoffman. Things may not have gone too smoothly for Mrs. Robinson there, but how are things looking for this new Robinson and crew? Let’s take a look at each piece of the Big Brother pie. Kail, aka Mrs. Robinson: So far Kail has impressed me with what she’s shown. Usually the “older gal” doesn’t have a very integral role in this summer show, but that looks to change this time around. We’ve learned that Kail is a suavy bus ...
Avril Lavigne Sued Over Her ?Girlfriend?
2007-07-09 10:00:30
It looks like Avril Lavigne could finally have a good reason to dress in all black and look pouty. Rubinoos bandmembers Tommy Dunbar and James Gangwer have sued Lavigne over the song “Girlfriend” from her latest album, The Best Damn Thing. Apparently Dunbar and Gangwer feel the best damn thing she could have done was come up with her own lyrics as “Girlfriend” treads perhaps too closely on some of their lines. E! Online compares the two songs: “Hey, hey, you, you, I wanna be your boyfriend,” goes the Rubinoos’ track, while Lavigne, of course, opines, “Hey, hey, you, you, I don’t like your girlfriend,” among other “hey, hey, you, you” attention-getting devices, including “I want to be your girlfriend” and “I know that you like me.” Avril Lavigne struck back from her website with this: “They claim that a small part of the lyrics are the same and are saying that I took these ...
Transformers: Movie Review
2007-07-09 08:00:29
Transformers Starring: Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, Megan Fox, John Turturro, Jon Voight Director: Michael Bay Genre: Action/Adventure, Science Fiction/Fantasy and Adaptation Duration: 2hr 20mins Rated: PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi action violence, brief sexual humor and language. Plot: The Earth is caught in the middle of an intergalactic war between two races of robots, the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons, which are able to change into a variety of objects, including cars, trucks, planes and other technological creations. My review: Go back and read that plot above. Now forget it. See kids, now everyone can pretend to be director Michael Bay. Some how Transformers manages to put off being a story of an “intergalactic war between two races of robots,” for all but the last 20-30 minutes of the movie. What proceeds that delayed arrival of nearly all robot confrontations is a roughly two hour commercial for GM and its family of automakers. The centered ...

Monday Morning Helper: Zombie Rampage - Flash Game
2007-07-09 06:00:00
Mondays are rarely fun, so here’s a Monday morning helper to change that. Zombie Rampage is a simple, but very fun flash game where you’ve got to defend your base (and yourself) from the onslaught of zombies. You build up points which are used to buy new guns and heal up. This game, along with the trailer I saw again this weekend, has me really looking forward to I Am Legend coming out this winter. ...

Tonight on Big Brother 8 we’ll find out how our house guests are adjusted to their new home and new roommates as well as Kail’s decisions for nominations this week as she is the HoH. On last week’s season opener we saw Kail nudge out Eric for the win as HoH, a decision made by the 3 “worst enemy” twist characters. The other big reveal was Eric as our America’s Player and tonight we’ll get our first swing at influencing his behavior. Read on to see how it all played out tonight on BB8. The show opens with a look at how each of the three contestants reacted to the news of their personal “worst enemy” joining them in the house. First up was Carol who declares, “I honestly don’t know what was going through ...
Weekend Movie Box Office Earnings Round-up: July 6 - 8, 2007
2007-07-08 17:42:48
Records were broken this weekend for movie earnings as the audiences turned out in masses for Transformers. Sadly, I was one of them. My review goes up tomorrow, but I’ll tell you know, I was not impressed. Transformers turned out to be a movie about a boy and a girl he likes, which may or may not have involved an intergalactic robot war. Regardless of its hack quality, Transformers broke some serious records this past week by earning a full $152.5 million since it opened this past Monday. This broke the record for highest first week earning by a non-sequel since Spider-man. However, if you adjust for inflation Spider-man still wins with ~26 million viewers its first week versus Transformers’ ~22 million. The other new movie this weekend, License to Wed, wasn’t making any Hollywood magic of its own as it coasted into 4th place with a respectable $10.4 million. Not bad considering the wretched reviews it received (a terrifying 9% approval rating over at ...

2007-07-08 08:00:41
Foreword: Big Brother Season 8 is now in full swing and to avoid missing any current details you’ll want to check out the online, uncensored live feeds (14 day free trial) and see what is going on right now. The season may just be getting started by Big Brother waits for no one. Last week in episode 1 of Big Brother 8 we were introduced to the guests, some of us picked our favorites and not-so-favorites, the “worst enemies” was revealed to the guests, and the first HoH of the season was crowned. Congratulations to Kail on her win. Let’s see if it gets her into trouble this week. Spoiler Free Zone ahead: We may know what’s going on with the live feeds, but for now we’ll keep this from ruining any broadcast surprises. Tonight on Big Brother 8 we’re going to finally start getting some time with our new house guests. Last episode was such a whirlwind of action where everyone was still trying to put on a good facade for one another that we d ...

Entertainment Week In Review: July 2 - 6, 2007
2007-07-07 10:00:21
Here are your entertainment news and reviews highlights from this past week: July 2 - 6, 2007. Monday: Wow. Cameron Diaz has been keeping plenty busy. Apparently when she’s not insulting South American countries she occupies her time with other women’s husbands, like Mindfreak’s Criss Angel. Tuesday: Transformers came out in theaters to very strong reviews. Have you seen it yet? Wednesday: 4th of July! Thursday: Rejoice. Big Brother 8 started up with its first episode of the season. 14 houseguests and $500,000! Friday: JJ Abrams released a frustratingly vague “trailer” for his unnamed new movie, which currently goes by “Cloverfield“. Could be a Godzilla remake. Hmm… Once again, a lot happened this week. Next week try to stay hip and popular by visiting Wild Bluff Media each day so you don’t miss anything else along the way. All the other kids are doing it. You do want to be cool, don’t you? ...

Big Brother 8: First Impressions of the New Season - Part 2
2007-07-07 08:00:45
Foreword: Big Brother Season 8 is now in full swing and to avoid missing any current details you’ll want to check out the online, uncensored live feeds (14 day free trial) and see what is going on right now. Picking up where we left off yesterday with our first impressions of the Big Brother 8 house guests it’s now time to take aim at the second half of the bunch. You can jump back to Part 1 of our first impressions if you missed it yesterday. Jen: Curvy-Jen, 23, is definitely satisfied with herself and she’s ready to share that satisfaction. At the circle greet and meet we got an earful of all her successes. I’d like to know more about this Beverly Hills estate she manages. What sort of estate manager also has to be a nanny, actress, model, and host? Nothing wrong with being a nanny, but if you have to have 5 jobs at 23 then you’re likely not doing any of them very well. Jen has already deemed the male offerings of BB8 as insufficient for her ne ...
JJ Abrams New ?Secret? Project: Cloverfield
2007-07-06 15:55:50
One of the trailers rolling before Transformers is for a new, secretive move coming out from director JJ Abrams and written by “Lost” writer, Drew Goddard. You can barely tell anything from the trailer as it starts during a party that turns quickly to some sort of onslaught from a roaring, fire inducing, car throwing creature or creatures. Wow. Wait a second. You mean the writers of Lost have created a mysterious, unseen beast that roars loudly and panics nearby people? These guys are ripping themselves off genius. Either way, this Godzilla or Lost Island Beast movie will be coming out January 18, 2008. That’s right, just before the return of the next season of Lost. Well done JJ. You can even check out the expansive movie website: 1-18-08. ...
