Weekend Movie Preview: Trailers & Details July 27 - 29, 2007
2007-07-27 10:00:21
Now here’s a full movie weekend for us with lots of options. The Simpsons is going to be the big draw of the weekend and is likely to make a good bit of money. If cartoons aren’t your thing there’s the more mature themed movie, No Reservations with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart. There’s also a non-cartoon comedy Who’s Your Caddy starring Outkast’s Big Boi. If coke’d out drunk drivers are more your thing then there’s another movie starring a once promising young actress that seems intent on killing someone else before herself. My weekend movie plans include seeing The Simpsons as well as catching last weekend’s limited release Sunshine that will be going wide release this weekend. Here are all your movie details & trailers for this weekend, July 27 - 29, 2007. The Simpsons Movie Starring: Dan Castellaneta, Nancy Cartwright, Hank Azaria Director: David Silverman Genre: Animation / Comedy Duration: 1hr 25mins Ra ...

The Dark Knight Teaser Trailer
2007-07-27 08:19:57
Freakin’ awesome! This is a really low quality video, but no worries as the video quality is pointless and you’ll just be interested in the audio. It’s just Bruce Wayne and Alfred talking then Joker throws in a line at the end. Summer of 2008 just won’t get here fast enough. “Some men just want to watch the world burn…” Update: Okay, a higher quality version is now available. Enjoy! For more The Dark Knight goodies, check out: Batman’s new ride and Heath Ledger as The Joker. Big Brother 8: Where Mike Went Wrong + CBS Interview
2007-07-27 08:00:01
Last night on Big Brother 8 we saw Mike take an early exit from the game in what was the first really dumb move of the game. In his attempt to prove his trustworthiness Mike stuck out his neck and drew the fire of Dick. Unfortunately for him the fire was heavier than he anticipated and Mike quickly became the new target of his fellow house guests. The voters were just a little less divided than the past two weeks with two votes against Kail, who stayed, and seven against the departing Mike. So what lead to Mike’s downfall, other than the obvious event? Let’s take in a look in our usual “three strike” approach. First strike against Mike’s game play was his most recent, and unfortunately biggest misstep. During Tuesday’s Power of Veto competition Mike allowed himself to be talked into fiercely supporting Kail against HoH Dick. Mike’s first strike here isn’t so much that he pissed off Dick, but rather that he decided undying loyalty ...
So You Think You Can Dance Controversy
2007-07-26 22:57:09
So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) is always one of the summer’s top rated reality shows. SYTYCD is to dance what American Idol is to singing. Contestants some on and compete to be the best dancer. Last night’s performance show caused a bit of a stir with the viewing public. At the beginning on tonight’s results show, they had apparently received enough negative feedback that the producers felt they needed to address these issues. Mia Michaels was up first. During last night’s show she wore a U.S. Marine Corp. dress blue jacket. Ok, no big deal. It seems that on the sleeve of said jacket the insignia was sewn on upside down. She had borrowed the jacket from a friend and didn’t even know it was an a USMC jacket, never mind that the patch was sewn on upside down. She basically just thought it was a cool fashion accessory. She made it clear that she was not trying to make any sort of political statement by wearing the jacket. Mia apologized if anyone ...
Big Brother 8: Week 3 Eviction Recap - July 26, 2007
2007-07-26 21:58:25
Foreword: Big Brother Season 8 is now in full swing and to avoid missing any current details you’ll want to check out the online, uncensored live feeds (14 day free trial) and see what is going on right now. I was a little surprised to discover that many of the house guests seemed to feel like Mike should be the one to go home because he had proven to be the stronger player while Kail is falling apart. I guess I ought to spend more time watching the 24/7 live feeds. Dick flipped flopped back and forth over who should go. Kail and Mike tried not to campaign against each other too hard because they were friends and didn’t want to appear too traitorous if they stay. America’s Player: Eric’s assignment this week was to try to get Kail evicted. Notice that Big Brother changed it so that he didn’t just have to cast his vote for America’s choice. He was actually responsible for getting that house guest evicted. That’s a tough thing to do especi ...
Coming Soon: The Invasion
2007-07-26 12:00:47
At first I was a little annoyed when I saw the trailer for The Invasion as its clearly a remake of an already great horror movie, Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I have a hard time accepting remakes of films I consider classics, but considering the 1978 version with Donald Sutherland was actually a remake of the 1956 original I guess I can’t be too upset. Though I’m a little concerned with the plot “twist” from the original storyline that our main character, played by Kidman, believes her son is the key to reversing the situation. Now what I loved from the 1978 version was the complete lack of hope. There was no “we can stop it if we do so and so” it was purely a waiting game. Sooner or later “it” would get you and you’d be one of them. Hopelessness is a key element to a great horror film, at least for me, so if that’s removed I’m not sure if this will elicit the same reaction. Despite my concerns I still bel ...
Big Brother 8: Kail or Mike, Which Will Go?
2007-07-26 11:00:12
Following a heated Power of Veto competition where we saw Kail fail, Mike ruffle Dick’s feathers, and the Queen of Oblivious Jen win things began to shift. What went from Dick being full force behind eliminating Mrs. Robinson from the game has now gone back on his original game plan. Dick is now viewing Kail as a minor hurdle and instead wants to oust Mike over his behavior. Yikes. Way to play the game with a little strategy there ED. So with Dick leaning towards Mike instead of Kail where does that land us for Thursday’s evictions? Well the house seems to have changed plans along with Dick and are now considering keeping Kail over Mike. Personally, I’d definitely take this chance to get rid of Mike. He’s just too nice and likable to let survive. Enough people are ticked off with Kail that I’d get the quiet guy now. I see Mike turning into the next Drew given the chance this season. He plays second fiddle to the trouble makers and smiles big ...
Heroes: Season 1 Coming to DVD - Deleted Scenes & More
2007-07-26 10:00:03
Heroes on NBC proved to be quite a pleasant surprise for me as I quickly picked it up following the disappointing start to 24. Having all the episodes online really helped get me into the story as I didn’t start watching until around episode 7. While you can always go back and watch those in the tiny window on your computer a better option is coming your way. Heroes - Season One is coming out on DVD and HD-DVD (awesome) at the end of next month. If you’ve missed this show so far this is the perfect time to catch up on what has been the most exciting and interesting drama I’ve seen on TV in years. I’m very anxious for the new season to start up so we can figure out just who survived the final episode and who didn’t. Considering how many characters were routinely knocked into oblivion I wouldn’t be surprised if more of them died than I’m expecting. I love it when a show/story isn’t afraid to dispatch a few characters along the way ...

Big Brother 8: Week 3 Eviction Preview - July 26, 2007
2007-07-26 09:00:55
Update: Check out our recap of tonight’s eviction to see who went home. Spoiler Free Zone ahead: We may know what’s going on with the live feeds, but for now we’ll keep this from ruining any broadcast surprises. Tuesday night’s episode was pretty rough. Dick was out of control. He was on a total power trip and pissing all of the other house guests including his daughter off. HoH or not this is not the best strategy for long term survival in the Big Brother house. Dick was out for Kail’s blood for betraying him. She ended up losing the Power of Veto competition because Dick had done his best to shake her up as much as possible before the competition started. The only reason Jen won was because Mike made Dick so made that Dick threw the competition just so that Jen could save herself and put Mike up in her place. So the question is who will the house guests send home tonight, Kail or Mike. Frankly I still think Kail is headed home. I don’t ...
Jessica Alba Cashes Out To Singlehood
2007-07-26 08:00:35
After two years Jessica Alba and Warren Cash have split up, says US Magazine: Sources tell Us that Alba, who was abroad over the weekend promoting Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, called Warren on July 22 and told him, “I’m not in love with you anymore.” Within hours, Alba had dispatched an assistant to the L.A. home they shared to pack up Warren’s belongings and move him out. The couple met in 2005 on the set of Fantastic Four with Warren behind the scenes as the director’s assistant. From the onset Alba had expressed strong feelings for Cash, stating she could see herself settling down with him. And why wouldn’t she when he’s as witty as this: “The first week that we kind of got together, he gave me a note and signed it with a dollar sign, because his name is Cash. It just said, ‘I really, really like you.’ And that was exactly how I felt at the time.” Wow, killer moves. What the hell is wrong with Hollywood? Fi ...

Assassin’s Creed Video Game Preview Trailer
2007-07-25 10:00:08
Sony is going to continue to feel upset over losing their exclusive rights to Assassin’s Creed. Creed, currently still under development by Ubisoft Montreal, looks to be an incredibly impressive and hopefully engrossing game. The game is scheduled to release some time in November 2007 with the 9th being an initial target. More details from Wiki: The game takes place during the Third Crusade, in the year 1191. The player assumes the role of Altaïr (??????, Arabic, “The Flyer”), a member of the Hashshashin sect (the original “assassins”), whose objective is to slay the nine historical figures who are propagating the Crusades. As the player finds and kills these targets, their conspiracy is unveiled. The player will be able to travel through three cities: Jerusalem, Acre and Damascus. The producers of the game take pride in how Assassin’s Creed is historically accurate. The locations in the game are distinctive models of the cities. All ...
MTV’s The State on DVD, Eventually
2007-07-25 08:00:36
Few things from MTV have ever been so good as The State and now, thankfully, we’ll be able to enjoy it all over with the announcement of its DVD release. The State was a sketch comedy show which ran on MTV from 1993-1995. If you’ve watched Reno 911 on Comedy Central you’re likely to recognize The State cast members Thomas Lennon and Kerri Kenney-Silver. There was also my personal favorite, Michael Ian Black who has gone on to plenty of other great roles. And to think, there used to be a time when MTV played shows other than “Date My Mom” and “My Super Sweet 16.” Feed Readers: click here to view the video Find product details and reviews for LCDs, Plasma TVs, stereo equipment, and more: Audio Video ...

Wolverine Spin-Off Has A Director
2007-07-25 08:00:22
The X-Men movie spin-off Wolverine looks to have finally settled on a director to tell the tortured past of our adamantium hero, Logan. Hugh Jackman has been signed on for awhile now to return to his role, but the director selection processed seemed to drag on. While Len Wiseman (Underworld) and DJ Caruso (Distrubia) has been considered the for job it finally instead went to Gavin Hood, director of 2005 Oscar winner Tsotsi. While it was a foreign film that I never saw I’m fairly confident in my guess that it was not a remake of Tootsie. Filming is scheduled to begin this fall with a planned release sometime in 2008. Wolverine seems like a perfect summer blockbuster release to me, but they’d have to really start moving fast to make that cut off. The storyline is rumored to look back on Wolverine’s history and should provide plenty of insight to his “development” under the program Weapon X. That should make for one heck of a dark movie. Just the ...
Big Brother 8: Week 3 Power of Veto Recap - July 24, 2007
2007-07-24 21:47:51
Foreword: Big Brother Season 8 is now in full swing and to avoid missing any current details you’ll want to check out the online, uncensored live feeds (14 day free trial) and see what is going on right now. The focus of tonight’s show was the efforts made by the two nominees, Jen and Kail to get themselves off of the block. Jen tried to talk to Dick and explain to him that she wasn’t one of the Mrs. Robinson alliance. Dick really didn’t care because she tried to get him evicted anyway. There was a brief intermission in the plotting while Zach streaked to the pool naked, at which point everyone else stole his towel and locked him out of the house. Jen went to visit Kail to discuss the PoV competition. Kail told Jen not to pick Mike, Nick, or Zach because they could win, and would not use it because they were in danger themselves. Mike came in and said that he would play and would use the PoV to take Kail off the block if he won. Dick and Kail had a hear ...
