The Bachelor 11 Week 1: The Sexiest Bachelor Yet!
2007-09-24 22:19:13
Tonight the 11th season of The Bachelor got underway. Brad Womack, this season’s bachelor, has already been described as the sexiest bachelor yet. Tonight Brad gets to meet the 25 bachelorettes before sending 10 of them home. One of the bachelorettes will receive the First Impression Rose and be safe before the Rose Ceremony. Introductions The girls were drooling before they even got out of the limo. You could tell that Brad was a night club owner who is used to pressing the flesh and meeting lots of people. I can’t say he is the smoothest operator I’ve ever met. Like Andy from last season when he met the girls he seemed kind of stiff. Several of the girls tried to make an early impression as they got out of the limo. Some of my favorites were DeAnna tried to speak Greek to him, Rigina introduced herself as Miss Brownsugar, and Erin told him she broke her face playing football. while I like the idea of the girls trying to make themselves stand out early on, I&rs ...
Dancing With The Stars 5 Week 1: Ladies Night!
2007-09-24 20:52:38
Welcome to Season 5 of Dancing With The Stars! This season is the biggest season yet with a full dozen stars dancing for their lives. The first surprise of the season was the absence of Samantha Harris. She recently had her baby and so former DWTS champion Drew Lachey was called on to fill in for Samantha until she returns later in the season. After a little chat between Drew and Tom Bergeron we got to see a pretty cool routine performed by all twelve of this seasons pro dancers. I noticed that this routine featured pretty heavily last season’s champ Julianne Hough and her brother Derek. After that performance they introduced this seasons couples and then jumped right in to the competitive performances. I was surprised at how quickly they got into the dancing especially since the had a full hour and half and only 6 performances (not that I’m complaining mind you). I apologize if my writeup is a little spotty tonight, I was trying to watch while getting checked after ta ...
NBC Premieres with Live Blog Chats: Tim Kring, HRG, & More
2007-09-24 17:00:29
Are you getting ready for all the premieres tonight? While I’m most excited for the start of Heroes season 2 I’m definitely going to be watching Chuck before hand. To keep all the excitement going NBC is doing something extra which sounds pretty cool. Each of the shows will be hosting live blog chats after their premiere and it’s the hosts that should be of particular interest: Heroes’ liveblog will be hosted by series creator Tim Kring and star Jack Coleman (aka Noah Bennett aka HRG): http://blog.nbc.com/heroes/ Chuck’s liveblog will be hosted by Josh Schwartz, the pilot’s writer: http://blog.nbc.com/chuck/ Journeyman’s liveblog will be hosted by executive producer Kevin Falls: http://blog.nbc.com/journeyman/ If those aren’t your thing then you can always check out the preview video clips from tonight’s season opener of Heroes: Feed Readers: click here to view the video Advertise on Wild Bluff Media with RSS ads and on-si ...

Don’t Miss TV: September 24 - 28, 2007
2007-09-24 12:00:14
With the return of the fall season comes our Don’t Miss TV guide as well following its summer vacation. Lots of new shows to take in but we’ll likely know quickly which ones are worth following and which ones will get dumped by the networks. While everyone here at Wild Bluff Media tries to watch as much as possible we don’t see them all, so share your opinions on what’s good and what’s not. At this point it looks like NBC is the only one offering something interesting with its new shows (Ahem, CBS, I’m looking at you with your vampire cop show, Moonlight. Ugh.). Take a look and see what shows you don’t want to miss this week with our WBM TV guide. Monday: Dancing with the Stars: 8-9:30pm on ABC; The fifth season premiere features six female contestants: Melanie Brown, Sabrina Bryan, Jennie Garth, Josie Maran, Marie Osmond, Jane Seymour. Prison Break: 8-9pm on FOX; After Michael gets bad news from Linc, he sets out to find a prisoner na ...
The Bachelor 11: Week 1 Preview - Sept. 24, 2007
2007-09-24 10:30:55
The 11th season of The Bachelor gets kicked off tonight on ABC following the Dancing With The Stars Season Premiere. This season’s bachelor is supposed to the the sexiest bachelor yet, although I certainly don’t feel qualified to comment on this (Oh the things I do for our readers). Brad is a self made man from Texas, who made his way working in the oil fields before opening a chain of bars with his two brothers. Check out the link to one of the bars, Chuggin Monkey website. I said it in our Season preview article but, I’ll repeat it here. If I were a woman (and granted, I’m not), I’m not sure this is the sort of place I’d want my prospective husband hangin’ around every night. Once again though, being male, I could be totally off base. I’ll be interested to see the comments from our female readers on how sexy they think Brad is and what they think of his profession. I also wonder if any of the bachelorettes will have the nerve to ca ...
Dancing With The Stars 5: Women’s Performance Preview - Sept. 24, 2007
2007-09-24 10:00:46
Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) Season 5 premieres tonight on ABC. Season 5 is the biggest DWTS season yet. This season there will be twelve couples, six with female stars and six with male stars. Don’t forget DWTS will be on three nights this week, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. In addition to introducing all twelve couples, the women will be performing either the Foxtrot or the Cha Cha Cha. Tomorrow night the men will get their turn to perform the same dances. Both tonight and tomorrow night’s shows will be an hour and half long. Then on Wednesday night during the results show, following a special performance by Dolly Parton (I’ll probably change the channel during this part), we will have our first losers of the season. Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris will be back this season as well as everyone’s favorite dance judges, Len Goodman Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba. I actually wasn’t sure if Samantha would be back as she was pregnant at the ...
Britney Spears Charged With Hit and Run & Having No License
2007-09-24 08:00:28
Britney Spears is going through lawyers like cans of Blue Ribbon these days and it doesn’t look like it’ll get better anytime soon. Just days after being ordered to submit to weekly drug test Spears was charged on Friday with two misdemeanors: hit-and-run causing property damage and driving without a valid California license. The hit and run situation came back in early August when Spears managed to swipe into a Mercedes-Benz as she pulled into a parking lot. Britney got out to check the damage, swung her door loudly into the already damaged car, and then wandered right back past without ever stopping to check what she had done. The owner of the Mercedes, Kim Robard-Rifkin, had been optimistic at the start saying that she fully expected Spears to step up and do the right thing. Sure, why not, considering everything we know about Britney that seems likely. Her hope didn’t last long as Robard-Rifkin filed a police report a few days later after hearing nothing ...

Weekend Movie Box Office Earnings Round-up: Sept 21 - 23, 2007
2007-09-23 13:58:33
The weekend earnings are in and just as I expected Resident Evil: Extinction toppled the crowd with an impressive $24 million on its debut weekend. Not bad considering it was yet another zombie tag along that followed the same downward trajectory of the second installment. That’s alright though as I’m glad the Dane Crap Cook movie didn’t earn the top place and will hopefully be yet another lesson for the studios to stay away from him. Sorry Jessica (this time Alba), but even you can’t overpower the stench of that guy. Yet another stinker, Sydney White, thankfully turned out not to be a floater and showed up in the #6 spot. I’d recommend passing on all three of these new releases and catching 3:10 to Yuma, Shoot ‘Em Up, or Superbad (see that one again if you have to). Here they are, your box office movie earnings for this weekend: September 21 - 23, 2007. If you missed any of the background on the new releases check out our Weekend Movie Pre ...

2007-09-22 12:00:55
Here are your entertainment news highlights from this past week: Sept 17 - 21, 2007 Monday: Stuart Townsend announced his “marriage” to Charlize Theron, which is funny because they’re not actually married. Tuesday: Big Brother 8 came to a close this week and the Donatos took home all the marbles. Wednesday: Courtroom updates with Phil Spector and OJ Simpson shows one is deadlocked and the other is bailing. Thursday: Survivor China got started this week and the castaways have all your usual quirks, but will the new setting change the game? Friday: Blade Runner is being re-released with a new director’s cut. Will these changes ruin or revive this classic? Once again, a lot happened this week. Next week try to stay hip and popular by visiting Wild Bluff Media each day so you don’t miss anything else along the way. Weekend Humor: Fact Checker Unit & Bill Murray - Video
2007-09-22 10:00:51
I usually try to post shorter funny clips, but I especially enjoyed this video from the Funny or Die website so I’ll make an exception. This time around the Fact Checker Unit (FCU) has a big mission, and it involves Bill Murray. I’m a huge Bill Murray fan, golf cart in Sweden or not, so I might have been a little biased on this one. Resident Evil - Extinction: Movie Review
2007-09-21 14:26:27
Resident Evil: Extinction Starring: Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Oded Fehr Director: Russell Mulcahy Genre: Action / Horror / Sci-Fi / Thriller Rated: Rated R for strong horror violence throughout and some nudity Duration: 1hr 35mins Plot: Led by the tough, sharp-minded Claire (Larter), survivors of the Raccoon City catastrophe travel across the Nevada desert, hoping to make it to safety in Alaska. Their chances are improved when Alice (Jovovich) joins the caravan and their fight against the Umbrella Corporation. Check showtimes and buy tickets now to Resident Evil: Extinction My Review: Resident Evil Extinction turned out to be pretty much on par with its previous installment, Apocalypse, as we follow along with a super-human Alice, Milla Jovovich, who smashes zombies in her pursuit against the evil Umbrella Corp. I enjoyed this a little more than the previous one though the story seemed to have deviated more than usual from its origin. While the beginning and end tied in Umbrell ...
Weekend Movie Preview: Trailers & Details September 21 - 23, 2007
2007-09-21 10:00:10
Hmm, not the best weekend for movies here. You’ve got 2 comedies that hardly look like comedies and you’ve got an action movie that’s gonna be a stinker, but you can bet I’ll still go see that last one anyways! I’m ticked off about Good Luck Chuck because I’d happily pay good money to go see Jessica Alba do whatever it is she does, but they had to go and throw in that awful Dane Cook piece of crap. He’s not funny. Why they tried once again to pair him up with a young, pretty face is beyond me after the bomb that was Employee of the Month. The only thing he’s ever done well was Mr. Brooks as that was because he wasn’t attempting a funny role. Then there’s Sydney White with yet another sad attempt at the harsh life of college living. It looks terrible, don’t bother. Then there’s the trilogy completer with Resident Evil Extinction. Now admittedly this one doesn’t look too great, but the first two d ...

Blade Runner is Back!
2007-09-21 08:00:45
On December 18th Warner Bros. is re-releasing one of the greatest Sci-Fi flicks of all time on DVD, Blade Runner! Blade Runner, The Final Cut, is supposed to be the ultimate version of Ridley Scott’s classic movie. In Blade Runner, the main character Deckard, played by Harrison Ford, is called out of retirement to hunt down and terminate four replicants (i.e., androids) who have returned to Earth to hunt down and kill their creators. During his investigation he falls for Rachel, the beautiful assistant of Tyrell, the androids number one target. Of course, Rachel turns out to be much more than a simple assistant. The supporting cast including Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and James Edward Olmos. Warner Bros. is actually releasing several versions of the DVDs. You can get the Final Cut 2-Disc Special Edition, the 4-disc Collector’s Edition, or the 5-Disc Ultimate Collector’s Edition! The difference between these is mostly how many discs of bonus material you get. For exam ...
Survivor China: First Impressions of the New Season
2007-09-20 21:38:01
Survivor launched its umpteenth season tonight and this time the castaways have landed in China with all the crazy personalities in tow. The mix of 16 contestants doesn’t seem to far from the usual mix. You’ve got the older guy, the princesses, the conservative, the gay, and a slew of everyone in between. The teams lined up in their determined order and I think we’ve got two unevenly matched groups already. Fei Long, the Red Team seems to have a mental lead over the Yellow Team, Zhan Hu. I won’t be surprised to see them continue to dominate for at least another few weeks into the season. My favorite player so far would have to be James from the Red team. We didn’t get to see much of him, but he’s not obnoxious and has a great work ethic. He expressed his concerns over shyness, but says he wants to win over the group with his hard work. He’s already demonstrated his usefulness in challenges as he was the runner for this week’s ...
