The Bachelor 11 Week 2: Betting and Beaches
2007-10-01 22:30:47
Last week Brad had to send home 10 girls. Of the original 25 only 15 remain. In tonight’s Rose Ceremony, Brad will have to send home three more girls. Brad went on two group dates with the girls, first to the race track and then to the beach. Group Date 1: The Race Track McCarten, Jade, DeAnna, Lindsey, Hillary, Kristy, Mallory Brad spent most of the date in a luxury box with the girls betting and watching the races. When he went for a walk down to the track with Hillary the other girls were watching them with binoculars closer than they had watched any of the races. Brad held Hillary’s hand and they walked around with their arms around each other. Brad gave DeAnna a rose during his one on one time with her. He really likes her and he has since the first night. After he gave her the rose the rest of the girls on the date crashed the party to keep it from getting too serious. During their date Brad received a call from Michele on his cell phone. She was in the hospital. ...
Dancing With The Stars 5 Week 2 Performance Show
2007-10-01 21:30:50
Here we go, round 2! After last week, we have a number of couples who need to show the judges and us they deserve to stay in the competition. Tonight the couples will be dancing either the quickstep or the Mambo. Let’s see who’s going home tonight! Melanie Brown & Maksim Chmerkovsky Dance: Quickstep Mel B said she wanted to use this dance to show America that she could be a classy lady, “From Scary Spice to Lady Spice.” Now knowing Mel B’s past history I wouldn’t quite go that far but, she and Maksim did a really good job tonight. The judges were all very impressed with her especially her posture through out the routine. Carrie Ann was the only one of the three who even had the slightest criticism. Bruno described her as a combination of Lena Horn and Ginger Rogers. Carrie Ann Inaba: 7 Len Goodman: 8 Bruno Tonioli: 8 Total: 23 Mark Cuban & Kym Johnson Dance: Mambo Mark is trying really hard and working really hard but I’m not sure ...
Britney Spears Loses Custody of Kids; Still No Sign of Dignity
2007-10-01 19:31:24
While it was rumored to happen two weeks ago a judge finally ruled that Britney Spears has to give up her kids. Britney Spears must hand over custody of her sons to Kevin Federline this week “until further order of the court,” a judge ruled Monday after a closed-door hearing. L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon gave no reasons in his written decision, issued after lawyers met with him in a private session requested by Federline’s lawyer. The ruling says that Federline gets custody starting Wednesday. But the ruling came after the filing of misdemeanor charges against Spears – hit-and-run and driving without a valid California license – and claims by her ex-bodyguard that she used drugs and is a danger to her children, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1. Gordon also previously found that Spears is a “habitual, frequent and continuous” user of alcohol and controlled substances, and ordered her to submit to random twice-weekly testing. Wh ...

Don’t Miss TV: October 1 - 5, 2007
2007-10-01 12:00:07
With the return of the fall season comes our Don’t Miss TV guide as well following its summer vacation. Lots of new shows to take in but we’ll likely know quickly which ones are worth following and which ones will get dumped by the networks. While everyone here at Wild Bluff Media tries to watch as much as possible we don’t see them all, so share your opinions on what’s good and what’s not. Take a look and see what shows you don’t want to miss this week with our WBM TV guide. Monday: Dancing with the Stars: 8-10pm on ABC; The second round of competitions launch tonight and includes the mambo and quickstep. Chuck: 8-9pm on NBC; A top scientist attempts to remove all the secrets from Chuck’s brain, but is mysteriously killed. Sarah goes undercover at a hot dog joint to keep an eye on Chuck. Prison Break: 8-9pm on FOX; Someone slides an envelope containing a photo of Sara and LJ under the door of Linc’s room, which may contain clues ...
The Bachelor 11 Week 2: Preview
2007-10-01 10:30:30
Last week, Brad send home 10 of the 25 original bachelorettes. Tonight will be our first real opportunity to get to know both the girls and Brad and for them to get to know each other. From the previews it looks like the bachelorette house is exceptionally catty this year. There is always one girl who all of the others hate but, this season it looks like there is a lot more friction in the house than usual. I’m not sure how far into the season this occurs but, another one of the bachelorettes will be taking a trip to the hospital. Last season Devon trashed her ankle while doing The Bachelor Bootcamp. I couldn’t tell which bachelorette it was but they seemed to be taking her out of the bachelorette house, maybe off of the stairs. It probably wont be this week because ABC will really play that up in their promo spots to get as many viewers to watch as possible. Unfortunately there is nothing like an injured contestant to boost ratings. I saw someone made a comment la ...
Dancing With The Stars 5 Week 2 Performance Preview
2007-10-01 10:00:15
Last week we lost the first of our Twelve Stars. Josie Maran and her partner Alec Mazo had the lowest combined score. I wasn’t convinced that Josie actually did that much worse than some of the other stars but since the fans didn’t step up to save her either, she probably should be going home. Josie & Alec Tonight, I am expecting great performances again by Sabrina & Mark and Helio and Julianne. These two couples were awesome last week and expect them to be strong throughout this season’s competition. I also think the Floyd & Karina will step it up and dramatically improve this week. You may remember that Apolo and Julianne had the same problem last season. Their first performance was not good at all. Then they came back strong the second week and ended up winning it all. Now mark Cuban on the other hand I do not have high hopes for. I really think that he will be another one of this seasons early casualties. Wayne Newton is another dancer who coul ...
You’re Not Alone; Jackie Chan Didn’t Like “Rush Hour” Either
2007-10-01 08:00:24
Jackie Chan may have broken into mainstream Hollywood with “Rush Hour” back in 1998, but in the nearly ten years since and two additional films Chan still doesn’t get it nor does he like any of them. On his personal blog this weekend Chan explained his motivations for all three, saying the first was to test American waters, the second was for the $$, and the third was for the fans. Considering Chan had already wow’d us with Rumble Bronx three years earlier I don’t understand what he means on the first one. At least he’s honest about the follow-ons though. The Associated Press reports: “Nothing particularly exciting stood out that made this movie special for me … I spent four months making this film and I still don’t fully understand the humor,” he said, adding the comedic scenes may be lost on Asian audiences. So Jackie, tell us what you think of your upcoming movie. More good stuff right? Something worth our $10 ...
The Kingdom: Movie Review
2007-09-30 16:48:14
The Kingdom Starring: Jamie Foxx, Chris Cooper, Jennifer Garner Director: Peter Berg Genre: Drama and Thriller Rated: R for intense sequences of graphic brutal violence, and for language. Duration: 1hr 50mins Plot: An FBI agent (Foxx) and his team are dispatched to a formerly off-limits Middle Eastern kingdom to find those responsible for a bombing that claimed the lives of American workers in Riyadh. Check showtimes and buy tickets now to The Kingdom My Review: While The Kingdom tries hard to reach its audience on a higher level than just a “good guys vs bad guys; shoot ‘em up” it fails to do so. One of the most interesting parts of Kingdom is during the credits intro as there is a 5 min history lesson starting from the birth of the Saudi nation and highlights important events as it builds toward the present. After that’s over you won’t really learn anything more because it’s mostly Foxx being cocky and demanding things in the foreign country. ...
Weekend Movie Box Office Earnings Round-up: Sept 28 - 30, 2007
2007-09-30 15:14:13
Wow, now this one surprised me a lot. The Game Plan, starring The Rock and his on-screen bastard child, stole the spotlight from The Kingdom. While they both earned okay amounts I think this will no doubt come as a disappoint to Kingdom’s studio which put a lot of money into marketing. I just got back from watching The Kingdom and I don’t think word of mouth is going to pick it up a lot of business on its second week around. My review will be up later, but I’ll tell you now that while it did have an exciting fourth quarter the rest came up rather lackluster for me. The other new release, Feast of Love, came in at 11th place and that’s not surprising considering I never heard of it before Friday. Everyone weekend I say I hope next weekend’s movies will be better, and yeah, I’m thinking it again this time. Here they are, your box office movie earnings for this weekend: September 28 - 30, 2007. If you missed any of the background on the new r ...
Entertainment Week In Review: September 24 - 28, 2007
2007-09-29 12:00:49
Here are your entertainment news highlights from this past week: Sept 24 - 28, 2007 Monday: Britney Spears was charged with a hit and run and having no valid license in California. Charges for her crimes against humanity are still pending. Tuesday: A stunt crew accident on the set of Batman: The Dark Knight had fatal results. Which raises the question, just where was Batman to help anyway? Wednesday: UK’s comedy duo, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, are teaming back up for another comedy, “Paul”. Subsequent sequels are suspected: “Peter” and “Mary”. Thursday: Phil Spector and his hair escaped court through a deadlock jury though the DA promises a retrial. I don’t blame the jury though, deciding whether his best look was curly or straight is a tough call. Friday: South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker are bringing some Canadian humor to the U.S. with “Kenny vs. Spenny”. Hey, what’s that all a-boot? Once again, ...

Weekend Movie Preview: Trailers & Details September 28 - 30, 2007
2007-09-28 10:00:02
After a disappointing set of movies last weekend I’m looking for to The Kingdom coming out. The other wide releases, The Game Plan and Feast of Love, aren’t really interesting me, but family and romance films may be what you’re looking for. Then again a family comedy about a bastard child doesn’t strike me as the best idea for a kids movie. There are several more limited releases coming out (The Darjeeling Limited and Lust, Caution), but good luck finding those in your area. What are your movie plans for the weekend? Check these out and see what looks good to you. Here are all your movie details & trailers for this weekend, September 28 - 30, 2007. The Kingdom Starring: Jamie Foxx, Chris Cooper, Jennifer Garner Director: Peter Berg Genre: Drama and Thriller Rated: R for intense sequences of graphic brutal violence, and for language. South Park Creators Importing Canadian Comedy
2007-09-28 08:00:38
While South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker may have just inked a deal for three more years of South Park they haven’t decided to settle on just one project. Staying within the Comedy Central family Stone and Parker are in the works to bring down some Comedy from our northern neighbors. An initial deal for 10 episodes with Comedy Central will introduce the U.S. to Kenny vs. Spenny, which is billed as a mix between challenges and stupidity. Sounds good so far! Tell me more E!: The award-nominated Amazing Race-Jackass hybrid, currently heading into its fourth season on the Canadian cable network Showcase, features best friends Kenneth Hotz and Spencer Rice as they try to outdo each other in various oddball yet exacting competitions, ranging from who can go the longest without sleep to the more existential, “Who is the sanest?” The fun doesn’t stop there, though—the loser is then forced to do something humiliating and/or gross at the winner&rsq ...
