The Darjeeling Limited: Sneak Peek Movie Review
2007-10-05 12:00:21
The Darjeeling Limited: Release Date: Sep 28, 2007 (Limited) Genre: Adventure / Biography / Comedy / Drama Starring: Jason Schwartzman, Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody Director: Wes Anderson Rated: R for language Duration: 1hr 31mins Plot: Following the death of their father three brothers (Wilson, Brody, and Schwartzman) go on a life-altering trip to India. My Review: Soaked in colors, drenched in characters, splashed with music, and swimming in the artful direction of Wes Anderson “The Darjeeling Limited” is sure to please longtime fans of this director while nearing close enough to mainstream to likely pull in a few newcomers as well. Although I had clearly underestimated the drawing power of Anderson I was still lucky enough to barely squeeze in to a screening of his new film earlier this week and it proved to be well worth the trip. Despite never having traveled through Anderson’s vision of a spiritual journey across India this movie carries a familiar theme of its ...
Weekend Movie Preview: Trailers & Details October 5 - 7, 2007
2007-10-05 10:00:13
Are you ready for the weekend? Yeah, me too. This time around we’ve only got a couple of options, but they’re certainly balanced out for kids and adults. First up is Ben Stiller’s “The Heartbreak Kid” featuring him as a commitment-phobic guy who falls into a bad relationship. Yeah, I know. But before you write it off this is actually getting decent reviews. This was almost made with Jason Bateman and Amy Phoeler, which might not have made as much in the box office, but after Arrested Development Bateman is, without a doubt, a top notch comedy option. Ah well, we’ll have to settle for niche actor Stiller instead who I’m sure will do it well, just not any differently than all the rest of his films. Over on the kids’ end of this weekend you’ve got The Seeker which looks like a crappy 80’s movie and features a kid who discovers he has super powers and is overly important to fighting evil. For reasons to avoid this one ...

30 Rock Season 2 Premiere Tonight - Live Blog with Tina Fey
2007-10-04 13:00:22
Tonight’s return of 30 Rock with its second season (and guest starring Jerry Seinfeld, mind you) is going to be awesome. Fact: The best way to get ready for an hour long episode of The Office with Dwight is to watch 30 Rock right before it. To celebrate 30 Rock’s season premiere I called in a personal favor with Tina Fey and Jack McBrayer (Kenneth) and they’ve agreed to chat live immediately after the show (show starts 8:30pm; live blog starts 9:00pm EST). Yeah, I’m just that important and powerful! 30 Rock Live Blog with Tina Fey & Jack McBrayer: http://blog.nbc.com/30rock/ Here are a few clips from tonight’s episode to get you warmed up: Feed Readers: click here to view the video Thirsty? Survivor China: Can Zhan Hu Break Their Slump?
2007-10-04 12:06:26
After two straight weeks of losses in the Zhan Hu (Yellow Tribe) I’m wondering what it’s going to take to snap out of this slump. Following week #1’s loss the dysfunctional team tossed out their chicken farmer as the “safe” pick considering he stood out the most from the group. I considered that a dumb move since Chicken’s experiences could be a strength despite what he may have been lacking in speed or agility. Even after cutting what they thought was dead weight we witnessed yet another failure in the immunity challenge and this time it was worse than the first round. Issues are running even deeper than that here and the leadership is likely to blame. Dave may consider himself the leader in the tribe but he’s letting everyone around him down with his ego-centric versus team-centric approach. Not that Peih-Gee is a much better option considering all she seems to do is order others and stroke Dave’s ego. Clearly something need ...
Coming Soon: There Will Be Blood - Trailer & Details
2007-10-04 12:00:51
Paul Thomas Anderson (Magnolia, Punch Drunk Love, Boogie Nights) has teamed up with Daniel Day Lewis, one of the most impressive actors, to big this adaptation to the big screen. Lewis stars as a “soulless” turn-of-the-century oil prospector who will stop at nothing to monopolize the region’s oil potential. The title seems to imply a little more violence than I’m expecting from this, though there should be plenty of cut throat throat cutting as the plot implies. After such a lull of silence from Anderson I’m looking forward to see what he’s offering up to audiences here. There Will Be Blood - Details: Release Date: 26 December 2007 Genre: Drama Starring: Daniel Day Lewis, Paul Dano, Ciarán Hinds Director: Paul Thomas Anderson Rating: Rated R for some violence There Will Be Blood - Plot: A sprawling epic about family, greed, corruption, and the pursuit of the American dream. Set in the booming West coast oil fields at the turn of the 20th ce ...

Grindhouse - Death Proof: Movie Review
2007-10-04 10:00:36
Death Proof Director: Quentin Tarantino Starring: Kurt Russell, Rosario Dawson Genre: Crime / Action Rated: Unrated Duration: 1hr 54mins (extended version) Plot: Two separate pairs of voluptuous women are stalked at different times by a scarred stuntman who uses his “death proof” cars to execute his murderous plans. Check Prices for Death Proof on DVD My Review: Death Proof isn’t Kill Bill, it isn’t Pulp Fiction, but it is definitely Quentin Tarantino. Coming off a disappointing run in the domestic box office as a coupled feature along with Planet Terror, Death Proof was released separately overseas as well as the recent DVD release. Not only was it released as a standalone version but DP was also extended out an extra 30 minutes, which was credited with making the film much more complete. This extended, international release is what you’ll find on DVD with no option to watch the original theatrical version. I missed this in the original release as I ...
Jon Stewart Launching New Comedy Series with Demitri Martin
2007-10-04 08:00:41
Following the amazing success of Jon Stewart’s spin-off program, The Colbert Report, Stewart is going to find out if lightning can strike twice. While he previously went for a similar formula of a “fake news” format this time around it’ll be closer to The Chapelle Show as a variety show with Demetri Martin leading the mix. The sketch-variety show “Important Things With Demetri Martin” is slated for the second half of 2008; anywhere from six to 10 episodes will be executive produced by Stewart and Martin, who has been a featured contributor on “Daily Show.” “Martin” is the second series Comedy Central has ordered from Stewart’s Busboy Prods. since they struck a first-look deal in 2005. “The Colbert Report” was their first collaboration. Martin has worked with Comedy Central in various other capacities, including his first comedy album, “These Are Jokes”; a stand-up tour; and a primetime spec ...
Dancing With The Stars: Kym Johnson Photos - Part 1
2007-10-03 12:00:26
Kym Johnson is one of the most recognized professional dancers on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. This Australian born dancer first made her debut on the Australian version of the show before winning over U.S. audiences. Over her three seasons on DWTS, Kym has performed on Dancing With The Stars she has had some difficult pairings before including the likes of Jerry Springer. However, this season Kym faced her toughest partner yet Mark Cuban the eccentric billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks. Despite Kym’s best efforts and his, Mark just isn’t a dancer. Since we probably won’t get to see her for very long this time I thought we would give her a little tribute with this photo gallery before we say goodbye to her until next season. Don’t Forget Baseball Playoffs are on TBS!
2007-10-03 10:00:37
If you follow Major League Baseball (MLB) the playoffs start tonight. Don’t forget this year the post season games are being carried on TBS and sometimes TNT, NOT ESPN. I wanted to remind all of you baseball fans because as of last night, TBS and TNT had not updated their listing to reflect the game schedule so if you were looking on the TV Guide channel, Tivo listings, etc. you wouldn’t see them. Apparently the Turner broadcasting empire may need a year to smooth out their sports coverage. They were supposed to have the problem fixed by today. Here is the schedule for tonight: COL vs. PHI 3:00 PM LAA vs. BOS 6:30 PM CHC vs. ARZ 10:00 PM The other American League series between the Yankees and the Indians doesn’t start until tomorrow night. The full schedule is available at MLB.com. Thirsty? 30 Rock Season 2 Returns with Jerry Seinfeld
2007-10-03 08:00:16
30 Rock fans, it’s time to rejoice. Season 2 of 30 Rock will launch tomorrow night following a great summer for the series as it pulled some impressive Emmy wins. To top it all off Jerry Seinfeld will be joining the cast, just for one night though, so enjoy it while it lasts. The whole premise of his return sounds very funny and right in line with the comedy style delivered all last season: The cast returns from the summer break and Liz gets right back into her fights with Jack. Jenna sees her waistline widen after starring in the play, “Mystic Pizza: The Musical!”. Seinfeld appears as himself in a bid to block Jack’s plans to insert clips from episodes of Seinfeld in low rating shows to boost audience numbers. This premiere tacked onto the front of an hour long The Office is going to make for a great Thursday night. Here’s a promo video for the upcoming episode: Feed Readers: click here to view the video Audio Video: Find product details a ...
Dancing With The Stars 5 Week 2 Results Recap
2007-10-02 21:06:40
Tonight we lose this season’s second couple. At the end of last night’s performance show there were at least two couples who should be safe no matter what, Sabrina & Mark and Helio & Julianne. These two couple’s were in a different league from the rest of the dancer’s last night. So it was no surprise when Helio & Julianne received this weeks Judge’s Encore. Here is a another look at the standings based on the judges score: Judges Leader Board Helio & Julianne: 27 Sabrina & Mark: 26 Marie & Jonathon: 24 Mel & Maksim: 23 Albert & Anna: 21 Jennie & Derek: 21 Cameron & Edyta: 21 Floyd & Karina: 21 Jane & Tony: 21 Mark & Kym: 18 Wayne & Cheryl: 15 The big news tonight was about Jane Seymour. After the show last night, Jane Seymour found out that her mother had passed away back in England. Jane obviously missed the show this evening but, she is safe and will be back dancing next week. I was surprised ...
NBC Giving Online Series A Try With New Soap “Coastal Dreams”
2007-10-02 12:00:34
