Drew Lachey To Host ABC’s DWTS Spin-Off: Dance War 2007-10-25 08:00:29 Worried about what you’ll do between the seasons of Dancing With The Stars season 5 and 6? Well worry no more because ABC has just announced that they’ll be bridging those few short months with a spin off from DWTS called Dance War. ABC wastes no time milking this one to its end, do they? The show doesn’t sound like such a bad idea though as it looks to bring two of the judges from DWTS from behind the judges’ table and make them put their money where their mouth is. BuddyTV provided these details: Dance War will premiere Monday, January 7 at 8pm, occupying the time slot currently held by Dancing with the Stars. After it’s final performance show on November 26, the network will fill the hour during December with various holiday specials. Phenomenon: The Premiere 2007-10-24 20:23:18 Phenomenon is a reality show where illusionists will get a chance at becoming the next big thing in magic. 10 mentalists will compete to be the Phenomenon. To be honest before I saw the show, I thought they were magicians. Mentalists do not pull rabbits out of hats or saw women in half. They perform mind tricks. Guessing which card you picked or the name written on a piece of paper. Obviously these guys will be doing tricks a little more advanced than this but you get the idea. The judges for the series are Uri Geller (you know, the spoon bending guy) and Criss Angel (a.k.a., Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos). To assist the mentalists in addition to volunteers from the audience are Rachel Hunter, Ross Matthews, and Carmen Electra. Each mentalist will perform every episode. Phenomenon Premieres Tonight On NBC 2007-10-24 17:05:23 In case you’ve decided to not take my advice and watch Pushing Daisies there’s another option tonight at 8pm with the premiere of Phenomenon on NBC. Phenomenon is a reality show where illusionists will get a chance at becoming the next big thing in magic. Considering David Copperfield’s recent life troubles this is good timing! The series will bring together Uri Geller and that other guy known as Criss Angel (real name: Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos) as the hosts. The Biggest Loser: Dirty Water Tricks 2007-10-24 12:00:53 This is not one of the shows which we typically cover but I caught the episode last night and saw something which I found very disappointing. Now as I’ve said I’m not a huge fan of this show but I do think that it does a lot to help people Unlike most reality shows the goal of this show really seems to be to help people. Sure they exploit them a little in the process but over all I think these folks walk away from the show better people than when they walked in both physically and mentally. That’s why I was really disappointed by what I saw last night. Okay, Mulder would probably stick with the original line, “the truth is out there,” but either way I’m still thrilled to hear there is some real progress being made in X-Files land. Three months ago I told you about the rumors that an acceptable script, penned by series creator Chris Carter, was floating around and both original leads were attached to the project. Are You Watching Pushing Daisies On ABC? You Should Be! 2007-10-24 08:00:08 After several disappointing Wednesday nights of watching Bionic Woman I decided it was time to try something new. Looking across the evening schedule I saw something new that I knew nothing about, Pushing Daisies. That turned out to be the best TV decision I’ve made all Fall. Despite coming in on the third episode of the series I was immediately greeted by a short background synopsis that brought me right up to speed and from there I never looked back. Pushing Daisies comes across as Tim Burton meets Roald Dahl with its poetic narration, larger than life characters, elaborate and colorful settings, and it’s all topped off with a lovable but distinctly burdened main character, Ned. Dancing With The Stars 5 Week 5 Results 2007-10-23 21:07:37 Tonight we had two couples who were obviously in jeopardy, Marie & Jonathon and Mark & Kym. Marie of course had a chance for the sympathy vote after she fainted last night. Which might make you believe Mark & Kym were headed home but the audience had consistently saved them week after week. To be honest though mark & Kym have been improving noticeably each week. Realistically all of the bottom four teams should have gone in to tonight being worried. I’m surprised this didn’t make it into the main Fall lineup, but maybe that tells us something about what to expect. As a huge fan of the series I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. However, the Orlando Sentinel mentions some concerns of their own: “Sarah Connor Chronicles” picks up where “Terminator 2″ left off. Most of the performance were hot but there were a few that were only luke warm. Heroes Episode 2.05 “Fight or Flight” Preview Video 2007-10-22 12:00:54 Tonight on Heroes the cast continues to expand as newcomer Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars) joins the story. She’s after Peter but we don’t know yet why or who is her employer I’m kinda interested in seeing how Matt handles hunting down his father. Other than his seemingly odd gay couple role (Matt and Suresh sharing an apartment and fighting over how to raise/handle the little girl is just too humorous for me to not run a gay parallel.) I haven’t ever had much interest in Matt’s character. That’s partly because Greg Grunberg is one of the most boring actors in the cast for me. Hopefully that’ll change this season though. I’m also disappointed in how little time we’re getting with the core characters as the new ones are taking up so much screen time.
