Coming Soon: Iron Man - Trailer & Details
2008-01-31 12:00:40
A lot of these comic book adaptations have been great. A lot of them have definitely not. I think it’s easy to see which way Iron Man is going. This is going to be a great movie. Robert Downey Jr. is awesome and is the perfect match for Tony Stark. Having Favreau on board as the director is definitely keeping things moving in the right direction. As long as things go well with this first outing you can expect a full trilogy installment as all leading actors have signed 3 picture deals for this one. Awesome!
Iron Man - Details:
Release Date: 2 May 2008
Genre: Action / Adventure
Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard
Director: Jon Favreau
Expected Rating: PG-13 for violence, language
Iron Man - Plot:
Inventor Tony Stark (Downey) dons his most powerful creation, a high-tech suit of armor, to fight Mandarin, a dark-minded scientific genius bent on spreading his influence worldwide.

Lost Season 4 Premieres Tonight On ABC, “The Beginning of the End”
2008-01-31 08:00:58
Tonight on ABC at 8pm the fourth and third from the last season of Lost will premiere in a 2 hour event. Last season left us off with plenty of cliff hangers. We saw Jack radio to an offshore ship for help, Charlie drowned, Locke came back from the near-dead, and Ben promised us everyone on the island would die by the hands of those on that ship. Ohhhh, I’m ready to go and even willing to forget about most of season 3 (ping pong? ping pong?!). Here’s the blurb on tonight’s episode, “The Beginning of the End”:
As the fourth season begins, the castaways await rescue by the people with whom they have made contact, but are troubled by Charlie’s final warning about them. Michael: Harold Perrineau. Christian Shepherd: John Terry.
So they’ve noted Michael’s return to the series tonight. Will that be as another flashback or will he have ended up back on the island? It’d be nice to have him around again and would make a nice “we ...

Britney Spears Rushed To Hospital By Police
2008-01-31 07:15:01
When I first read this morning that Britney Spears had been taken from her home by police and rushed to hospital overnight I figured this had to be a recycled headline from the other week. It wasn’t. Britney has managed to get herself, more or less, committed for psychiatric review twice in the same month. E! News reports:
For the second time in a month Britney Spears has been taken from her home and forcibly admitted to a hospital.
Manager Sam Lutfi alerted Spears’ psychiatrist, who made the call to get her in care, according to the source. Lutfi was said to be key in making it happen, even over the objections of the singer’s recently reunited mother, Lynne.
“The scene inside the house was chaos,” the insider continued. “Lynne was shouting at police, she didn’t want them to take Britney away at first. It was a zoo.”
I’m willing to guess the “it was a zoo” comment wasn’t just a metaphor either. I can just imag ...

Big Brother 9: CBS Warms Us Up With Some Big Tears
2008-01-30 21:00:51
Oh Big Brother, how I’ve missed you and your house full of neurosis. With less than 2 weeks to go Big Brother 9 is closer than ever and CBS is doing everything it can to start pulling at those heart strings. Sona, over at the Big Brother 9 Net Forum, found this great video from CBS themselves and it’s filled with the best tears from Big Brother 8. I can’t believe I had started to forget just how bad Waaahmber was and even how good Eric was at the fake tears to fool Kail. I did not, however, forget Jen’s breakdown over her photo on the memory wall.
So what are the chances we’ll get as many nut jobs this year on Big Brother 9 as the last time around? Personally, I have complete faith in those casting directors and am expecting nothing but the best from Chenbot and crew this season.
CBS is generous though and thoughtfully shared another video all about getting “Grounced”, which I completely missed last season. That second video can b ...

American Idol Season 7 Miami Auditions Recap - Jan 30, 2008
2008-01-30 20:15:44
Tonight, American Idol welcomed us to Miami with the Miami Vice theme song. I wonder why Ryan was wearing socks. I liked Omaha’s Crop Circle better. Miami’s turn out was just as strong as Miami’s with over 10,000 singers in line looking to be the next American Idol. Simon and Randy liked the way Paula turned out. Her tiny leopard print skirt got both of them excited. Simon actually called it ‘very slutty’ (Tactful as always Simon). Randy definitely had the Miami Vice thing goin’ on. He was sporting the fire engine red loafers with no socks.
Shannon McGough the belching butcher the outfit she selected was frightening. She looked like she picked through Madonna’s dumpster. She was shocked when the judges told her she really couldn’t sing. Randy went so far as to call her tone deaf. Yikes. Thats bad when it comes from Randy.
The first Hollywood bound hopeful was Robbie Carrico the former boy bander who was now supposed to be a rocker. Even ...

TV Round Up: Quick Bits On “Last Comic Standing” & “Smash Lab”
2008-01-30 12:00:36
Considering what a mess TV seems to be in these days it’s hard for me to keep up with anything other than American Idol and the pending early return of Big Brother 9. That’s not to say there isn’t anything else worth watching out there, just that I’m lazy. Yes, you heard me. I’m too lazy to watch more television. In fact, I’ve trained my dogs to type up these posts for me. Good dogs. No, don’t type that, I was talking to you. No, stop. Oh forget it. Anyways, here are some blurbs and videos to keep you occupied amidst this season of unscripted television.
First up, the return of Last Comic Standing, which I really enjoyed last season, is getting closer and that means it’s time for the auditions. Unfortunately there are a lot of bad comedians out there and you’ll have to sit through those. The good news is there have been lots of really funny folks too. If you’re up for auditioning then check out NBC’s official ...

American Idol Season 7 Miami Auditions Preview - Jan 30, 2008
2008-01-30 10:00:04
Randy, Simon, and Paula have been rollin’ out the golden tickets to Hollywood. Last night we saw them hand out another 19 in a single day audition in Omaha Nebraska. Based on what they showed us last night those 19 seemed pretty strong. I’m looking forward to when the show transitions to Hollywood to see how all of these American Idol aspirants handle the pressure. This season I have noticed an increase in the number of auditions with a I wonder if Carrie Underwood’s success has motivated more country singers to try out or if it has influenced the producers and the judges to take more potential country stars. I seem to recall in the first few seasons Simon washing people out during the auditions because they sounded too country and not pop enough. Auditions held in Nebraska, South Carolina, and Texas would likely to produce more country singers anyway than say California. I want to see how many country singers make it to the final twelve. I’m betting on at le ...

American Idol’s Nebraska Crop Circle
2008-01-30 09:30:26
Remember the Welcome to Omaha Crop Circle with the American Idol logo you saw at the start of last night’s audition show? I’m not sure how you could miss it. It was 5 acres across! The welcome, dubbed by American Idol as Omaha’s “Big Reveal” was officially extended Tuesday night from hundreds of feet in the air during the national broadcast of American Idol’s Omaha auditions show.
“We came up with the idea to have our agency make a crop circle to greet American Idol to our city,” says Jennifer Windrum, public relations manager at Swanson Russell Associates. “We were in discussions with American Idol for a separate project and told senior producer, Patrick Lynn, to be on the look-out for our green and yellow message. To our surprise, Lynn said, “You’ve got to be kidding me. I’m a crop circle freak. If you guys can pull this off, I want to use it in my show.” “American Idol’s interest in our crop circle, potentially using it as the opening sh ...

Crowned: Season Finale Episode 8 “And the Tiara Goes To…” Preview
2008-01-30 08:00:18
Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants returns for its finale episode tonight on The CW. So after seven weeks of conflict amidst mother daughter unions it’s finally time to wrap up the premiere season of Crowned. Tonight’s finale will feature the remaining four teams: Rachelle & Mindy, Hollis & Gina, Jenileigh & Moya, and Laura & Patty.
If Laura and Patty win anything more than a kick in the rear I’m going to be upset. As far as who will win I’m firmly rooting for Rachelle and Mindy. I will admit though that I’m concerned of just one other pair left in the game and that’s Hollis and Gina. They’ve consistently won praise from the judges and have worked impressively as a pair each week. Considering Shanna told me in our interview that they were looking for the best mother/daughter relationship I’m willing to concede my top pick just might end up getting picked off.
What about you? Any predictions for tonight’s fi ...

Celebrity Apprentice Signed for 2nd Season
2008-01-30 07:00:05
When this show was first announced TV critics across the Net groaned and rolled their eyes. Surreal Life jokes were on everyone’s lips and fingertips. Many thought this was the last gasp of a dying show. Celebrity Apprentice surprised a lot of people though, myself included. It has been garnering some pretty decent ratings and I’m happy to report is actually really entertaining. What was initially seen as desperate attempt to keep The Apprentice alive has breathed new life into the franchise.
Celebrity Apprentice has been such an unexpected success that NBC has announced that it has already decided to pick up Celebrity Apprentice for a second season. I think thats great news. Much to my own surprise I have been enjoying Celebrity Apprentice a lot. The stars get some extra publicity and all the prize money goes to charity so everyone wins. Donald Trump seems to have done it again. Granted, some of the stars were a little weak especially on the women’s team, but Gene ...

American Idol Season 7 Omaha Auditions Recap - Jan 29, 2008
2008-01-29 21:03:43
Tonight the American Idol auditions were from Omaha, Nebraska. After some of the craziness we had seen on the west coast and down South, I had hoped that we might get some more level headed contestants from the Midwest. Yeh, well… so much for that idea. The craziness actually started with the judges. Paula’s plan was late so Randy and Simon had to get started without her. The first kid in the room, Chris Bernheisel, was in tears before he even started singing because he was so grateful that the Idol auditions came to Nebraska. After showing Randy and Simon his pictures of he and Kelly Clarkson, he proceeded to butcher one of her songs. Randy and Simon did decide to let him help host the red carpet at the finals show. Hopefully he gets a little Ritalin before then.
Omaha actually brought some talent. Jason Rich a part time farmhand from Iowa was so nervous he forgot the words. Simon was actually coaching him with the lyrics. Simon and Randy must have been in a great m ...

Big Brother 9 Launches In 2 Weeks; What To Expect & When
2008-01-29 12:00:38
Two weeks. Just two weeks. Big Brother 9 premieres in just two short weeks and it couldn’t feel like any longer of a wait. At this point we have a lot of information. So far we know the casting process has been completed following a rushed order of the new season. We’ve also gotten a look at the new “dirty little secret” theme courtesy of what is likely Big Brother’s hippest advertising campaign. So what’s next? Well thankfully Big Brother is about as reliable as a clock.
Roughly eight days before the start of the show it is rumored that we’ll get the casting revealed to us by Julie Chen on The Early Show. That would sync up perfectly with Season 8 when we got the news eight days before the season premiere. But even before that big news bomb we should get the usual house tour, providing even more insight to the theme. Speaking of that theme, I’ve been hearing some very interesting speculation on just how that “dirty l ...

American Idol Season 7 Omaha Auditions Preview - Jan 29, 2008
2008-01-29 10:00:29
The American Idol judges did pretty well last week. They sent 31 from San Diego and 23 from Charleston to Hollywood last week. Tonight Randy, Paula, and Simon head to Omaha, Nebraska to take in a new set of auditions. This is the Midwest’s chance to step up and show America that they’ve got talent. Oh wait, that’s a different show. Most of the people we actually see tonight won’t have any talent anyway so it really doesn’t matter. Usually I enjoy the audition shows but this season, I’m looking forward to the end of the auditions. When they get to Hollywood thats when the cuts will begin in earnest. Then we can get our 12 finalists and the real show can begin.
While overall the auditions have been somewhat discouraging it has been interesting to notice how I don’t get the feeling of regional vibes. Each location each week seems to offer a similar feel. Maybe its silly to expect a different set of performers considering we aren’t on the ...
