Dancing With The Stars 5 Week 8 Results Preview
2007-11-13 10:00:38
It’s almost over, the season is so close to the end and at this point it’s still nearly anyone’s game. Last night on DWTS Carrie Ann noted that Melanie and Maksim have put themselves out ahead of the rest of the crowd, but don’t forget Helio & Julianne who outscored them by just a touch. Looking over the leader board from yesterday I think it’s clear that it’s like two separate competitions going on at this point. The second tier pairs are still doing some great dancing but I think their chances of winning aren’t nearly as strong as the top two: Helio & Melanie.
Overall Judges Leader Board
Helio & Julianne: 57
Mel & Maksim: 56
Cameron & Edyta: 51
Jennie & Derek: 50
Marie & Jonathon: 49
Last week we saw Jane Seymour get the DWTS boot which put a kink in my theory that an older demographic could keep stars like her and Marie safe. That said, I think we’re looking at a bottom two of Marie & Jennie. ...

Owen Wilson Dating Model ‘Le Call’; Le Seriously?
2007-11-13 09:11:30
It looks like Owen Wilson is starting to get back in the swing of things following his alleged suicide attempt several months ago. Wilson has been reportedly seen out and about in New York with a model named, “Le Call,” which sounds very European and all, right? Nah, she’s not at all European, she’s American. But don’t let that stop us because the mystery deepens! An insider told People magazine:
“She is dating him.”
Gasp! That sounds pretty damn credible. Wait, what about her modeling agency, One Model Management?
“Le Call has no comment.”
I think we’ve got a proverbial Watergate on our hands here. This is huge! We’ve got a European/Non-European, with a faceless insider citing they are “dating”, and an equally ironically named modeling agency that backs it all up with “no comment.” I’m about to jump in my car and drive to New York. This is huge!

2007-11-12 23:38:13
We’re down to just the final five performing pairs this week and with the competition so close one missed step could many any goes home this week. Each couple will perform two dance sets, just like last week. There are just two weeks left in this season of Dancing with the Stars, so keep cheering on your favorites.
Jennie Garth & Derek Hough
Dance: Jive
Len isn’t sure if her performance tonight has earned her a spot in the finals. Bruno thought her performance was a bit limp and not as good as it should be at this stage in the game. Carrie Ann agrees with the other judges and felt she crumbled as it went along and needs to work on her posture.
Carrie Ann Inaba: 8
Len Goodman: 8
Bruno Tonioli: 8
Total: 24
Cameron Mathison & Edyta Sliwinska
Dance: Viennese waltz
Bruno thought it was majestic like a great big albatross. Good job, he told them. Carrie Ann really loved it and thought it was beautiful. Len didn’t care for the bare chest open shirt in a ba ...

Michael Bay Plans To Confuse Then Disappoint On Transformers 2
2007-11-12 12:00:30
Once Michael Bay backed down from his “no Transformers on Blu-ray means no Transformers 2 at all” stance and got working on the sequel it sounds like he had another Bay-typical idea. Bay told Rotten Tomatoes that after bending to every request from the Transformers fanboys in the first movie he’s decided to hit back this time around by screwing with their expectations.
“One thing I do know is I know how to screw them up more,” said Bay. “We’re going to leak a lot of false information all over the place. I now know their game. They’re going to get a lot of script treatments that they think are going to be the script. They will never see the script. We’ve got scripts and treatments written up that we’re going to leak. No one’s going to know.”
“There’s one [script] out that’s fake right now. There are going to be many others.”
If Michael Bay spent half as much time learning how to not suc ...

The Bachelor 11 Week 8: Preview
2007-11-12 10:01:34
Tonight, get ready ’cause its the ladies “tell all” episode! Hopefully Hilary will get grilled on her dramatic departure and we’ll find out what was Bettina’s family’s malfunction. I can’t wait to hear what Hilary has to say for herself. I don’t know do you think she has gained some perspective or is she going to let Brad have it? Brad’s twin brother, will also be back. I’ll be interested to hear what he’ll have to say about Brad’s final two. I’m sure he will be very supportive but you never know. Then we have to wait one week for the finale. Jenni and DeAnna will each have one last chance to convince Brad that they are his one and only true love. I wrote up my opinion last week. Leave a comment and tell us what you think or vote on our Bachelor sidebar poll.

Dancing With The Stars 5 Week 8 Performance Preview
2007-11-12 09:00:28
Five couples remain. Last week all of these couples scored within 4 points of each other with the judges. At this point in the competition, it really is anybody’s game. I think Mel & Maks may be the only couple who have an advantage. They have led the Judge’s leader Board a number of times and have several perfect scores. On the other hand look what happened to Sabrina & Mark. They were the other couple who was favored to be in the finals and they were sent home. Basically from here on out I think it is going to be a question of not who dances the best but which couple doesn’t come out and dance a near perfect performance. Any one of these couples, including Mel & Maks, could go home tonight if the stumble (literally as well as figuratively). As we can see with Sabrina & Mark you only have to fail once. If you have a favorite couple, make sure you vote tonight. With the judge’s scores so close the fan votes are going to count more than ever. ...

Star Trek 11 Casting Continues: Capt Pike, Spock’s Mom, & More
2007-11-12 08:00:38
Lots more casting news out of Star Trek 11 which seems like it must have the most massive Star Trek movie ever as this storyline is going to pull in just about every Federation character out there. The big names and roles first since they’re most interesting. Captain Pike, who is more of a backstory character, has been confirmed as Bruce Greenwood (John from Cincinnati and the upcoming National Treasure 2). Bruce has promised us that his character won’t just end up in a box with blinking lights like last time around (MTV Movies). Next up you’ve got Spock’s mother, Amanda Grayson, who will be played by Winona Ryder. I’m not too sure how I feel about that one, but I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt here. Zachary Quinto, cast as Spock, is really too close in age (Ryder is 36 and Quinto is 30), so this must be a flashback character unless they age her a lot.
Jumping over to the more secondary casts there have been several more add ...

2007-11-10 12:00:51
Here are your entertainment news highlights from this past week: November 5 - 9, 2007
Monday: Shia LaBeouf managed to get himself arrested for spending too much time reading Cosmo in the magazine aisle at Walgreens. Hey! This isn’t a library kid!
Tuesday: Robert De Niro and Michael Mann will reunite for “Frankie Machine”. I promise this won’t be a futuristic Frankenstein story, but it sure sounds like it.
Wednesday: Big Brother 9 is being rushed into production to offset the WGA strike. It looks like we could get a celebrity edition this time around too.
Thursday: Just one more episode of The Office is left before we get hit with reruns. Listen to the show’s writers to hear what’s going on (video).
Friday: Britney missed 8 out of her 14 random drug tests. Lawyer says she can’t get up at 8am due to her superstar status. I have that problem too.
Once again, a lot happened this week. Next week try to stay hip and popular by visiting Wil ...

The Bachelor 11: One Rose To Go - DeAnna or Jenni?
2007-11-09 12:00:18
Brad is coming to the final decision. DeAnna or Jenni? Hmmm, what to do, what to do. I alomst feel like this is the same decision every bachelor needs to make at the end of the season. There is one girl with whom the physical chemistry between him and her is awesome, in this case that would be Jenni. Last week on their date in Cabo these two could barely keep their hands off of each other. It was like a sprint to the fantasy suite. Then there is the girl to whom you see them more as soulmates, that is DeAnna. I say ’soulmates’, because that was the term Brad used to describe how he described how he felt about her. That is a pretty powerful statement to make to a woman. So the big questions are ‘Who should Brad chose?’ and ‘Who will he actually pick?’
Here’s my take on it. He has great physical chemistry with Jenni and always has. They make a good couple because neither of them is especially ahhh… lets call it cerebral. Brad ...

Weekend Movie Preview: Trailers & Details November 9 - 11, 2007
2007-11-09 10:00:45
Here are all your movie details & trailers for this weekend, November 9 - 11, 2007:
Lions For Lambs
Starring: Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep, Robert Redford

Rated: R for some war violence and language.

Plot: A congressman (Cruise), a journalist (Streep) and a professor (Redford) are drawn into an investigation of two injured American soldiers in Afghanistan.
My Take: Of course this will be preachy, but the cast is top notch and its timely. I’m a little confused by the very short run time of less than 90 minutes. Isn’t that usually reserved for failed comedies?
Check showtimes and buy tickets now to Lions For Lambs
Lions For Lambs - Movie Trailer:

The Dark Knight: Nicholson “Furious” Over Ledger’s Joker
2007-11-09 08:00:08
I knew it was just a matter of time before someone got the chance to interview Jack Nicholson and ask him what he thought of the Dark Knight remake of his infamous portrayal of The Joker in Tim Burton’s 1988 “Batman”. MTV did just that this week and it sounds like Nicholson is anything but thrilled over the character’s reappearance:
“I’m furious,” Nicholson whispered to me last week when I asked him point blank how he felt about Ledger assuming the role.
Clearly the passage of time hasn’t mellowed Jack one bit when it comes to the Joker. His voice rose as he said, “They never asked me about a sequel with the Joker. I know how to do that! Nobody ever asked me.” For Nicholson the part of the Joker was an important one. “The Joker comes from my childhood,” he explained. “That’s how I got involved with it in the first place. It’s a part I always thought I should play.”
To be fair to Heath Ledger’s Joker it doesn’t sound li ...

Britney Missed 8 of 14 Drug Test ‘Cause She’s A ‘SuperStar’
2007-11-09 05:23:54
Looks like Britney’s current arrangement to visit her two sons could go up in smoke as fast as her career. Federline’s lawyer called an emergency hearing on Thursday to file the complaint against Spears for missing 8 out of the 14 mandatory requests for random drug testing and for living in a “parallel universe.” I’m glad to see someone finally cracking down on those “other dimension” folks. Ohh I hate them so much with their smug little faces and care-free lifestyles.
Spears had herself a new lawyer, Anne Kiley, this time who may or may not have an actual law degree. Kiley argued with the judge, calling the drug tests unconstitutional and unreasonable while citing the reason for the missed tests as being too early in the morning. When the judge said an 8am test wasn’t unreasonable Spears’ lawyer snapped back that superstars like Spears aren’t used to being woken up at 8am and “you are not a pop star with a num ...
