Dancing With The Stars 5 Week 9 Performance Preview
2007-11-19 09:00:46
Last week due to some some technical difficulties I missed the DWTS Results Show post, which really ticked me off. I’m back this week and looking forward to en exciting show tonight. With the loss of Cameron & Edyta we are down to the final four. If you had asked me at the beginning of the season who would have made it to the final four I might have been half right. I fully expected Mel & Maks and Helio & Julianne to make it. While I was rooting for Jennie & Derek and Marie & Jonathon, I didn’t think either of these couples would make it. I still think Sabrina & Mark should be in the competition. I was shocked when they got knocked out so early in the season. I think that for the fourth couple I would have thought Jane & Tony would have been in the final four. Now, I say that only because at the beginning of the season Jane’s grace and elegance gave her a distinct advantage. At this point in the competition I am still pulling for Jenn ...
Heroes: Big Spoiler, Tonight’s Preview, & Create-Your-Own Hero
2007-11-19 08:00:13
Wanna see a great big spoiler for this season of Heroes? If you don’t want to see just be sure to not click on the following link: Heroes Spoiler. So yeah, whether you took a peak or not I’ll just say that it doesn’t make me happy. Kudos to UGO for sharing this little surprise. If you’re really into spoilers then check out HeroesTelevision’s great big list of spoilers for the next several episodes. I was impressed with how much detail is offered. Again, if you don’t want spoilers, do not go to that link, otherwise enjoy! So this season of Heroes hasn’t been as top notch as last years, but now you get the chance to help fix all of that. Or at least try to fix it. NBC is running a “create your own hero” contest which is really more of a way to vote for a new character that will be added to the series. You can pick where they come from, their general appearance, and their build. At first I thought I was designing a charac ...

The 50 Greatest TV Icons: Tonight On TV Land
2007-11-16 12:36:46
Tonight on TV Land at 8pm a special will be airing that gives the run down on the 50 greatest TV icons. It wasn’t just TV Land though that compiled this list. They had the help of Entertainment Weekly, which should certainly add another level of credibility This sounds like it’ll make for some pretty interesting interviews from the clips I’ve watched so far. Want a peak at the Top 5 names they came up with? Here ya go: 5. Walter Cronkite 4. Bill Cosby 3. Oprah Winfrey 2. Lucille Ball 1. Johnny Carson So what do you think? I would have put Jerry Seinfeld in the top 5 while TV Land dropped him in at #8. It’d be hard to say that any of those names didn’t belong in the top five though, so that’s a tough call. You can see the full list of 100 greatest TV icons (which is strange since they’re billing it as the top 50) here at TVLand.com. You can even put together your own list to share with everyone at the site. Pretty cool. Check out th ...
Weekend Movie Preview: Trailers & Details November 16 - 18, 2007
2007-11-16 10:00:36
Here are all your movie details & trailers for this weekend, November 16 - 18, 2007: Beowulf Starring: Ray Winstone, Crispin Glover, Angelina Jolie Director: Robert Zemeckis Genre: Animation / Adventure Rated: PG-13 for intense sequences of violence including disturbing images, some sexual material and nudity. Duration: 1hr 55mins Plot: A hero (Winstone) saves the Danes from the indomitable monster Grendel (Glover), only to incur the wrath of the demon’s mother (Jolie), a wickedly seductive entity. My Take: I go back and forth on this one. I wish it had been full live action as the cgi just seems really strange with everyone looking just like themselves, only animated instead. The monsters will of course blend much better this way, but I just can’t decide. Check showtimes and buy tickets now to Beowulf Beowulf - Movie Trailer: Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium Starring: Natalie Portman, Dustin Hoffman, Jason Bateman Director: Zach Helm Genre: Comedy / Fa ...

Coming Soon: The Golden Compass - Trailer & Details
2007-11-15 12:00:28
Later next month the first of a very large budgeted trilogy will be rolling out by New Line Cinemas. The last trilogy from that studio, as you may remember, was Lord of the Rings. This time around NLC is putting $150 million into The Golden Compass and its series production, the largest since LotR. The screenplay writer shifted a few times and finally returned to the original writer as there was an issue over the content of religion and discussions of faith. There’s plenty of feathers ruffled over the author’s strong stance as an atheist and rumors of his claims that this series of books were intended to counter balance C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia. Now as far as all that I’m not too sure, but the movie looks pretty interesting, though I’m a little hung up on the killer polar bears and the rest of the talking animals. The whole “special child will rise to power to vanquish evil” does sound a bit familiar, but will it be as succes ...

The Best Of The Colbert Report Out On DVD: Sampler Clips
2007-11-15 10:00:54
So yeah, it sucks that the lights have gone out on the set of The Colbert Report for the second straight week, but damn if they couldn’t have timed this any better with the very recent release of The Best Of The Colbert Report on DVD. You’ve got about three hours worth of footage from this fantastic spin-off from The Daily Show with plenty of the clips that have made his show a classic (Jane Fonda making him a pie, Papa Bear O’Reilly, Manilow stealing his Emmy, etc.). Colbert might have gotten stumped in his road to the Whitehouse, but at least you can keep busy with this collection until his show comes back. Is Kellie Pickler Smarter Than a 5th Grader?
2007-11-15 08:00:29
All this month, celebrity guest stars will be trying to win money for charity on FOX’s hit game show Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? Tonight at 8/7c, the class gives Kellie Pickler some lessons. In case you don’t remember her, Kellie Pickler is one of American Idol’s favorite contestants. Although, her fan base may have more to do with her good looks than her singing ability. She was best known on the show for many of her ‘dumb-farmer’ statements. At the time people were trying to figure out whether it was an act or if she really was that dumb. I’m pretty sure by the time she left the American Idol stage, the jury was in. If you watch the preview clips from this episode on the FOX website, you’ll understand what I mean. She tells an engaged Jeff about the fish he keeps on his desk and then tells a little fish tale of her own. Jeff Foxworthy is going to have his hands full on this show. Not only is there no chance that Kellie Pickler ...

Bionic Woman: “Trust Issues” Episode Preview Clip
2007-11-14 11:00:32
Well this was inevitable. Isaiah Washington’s character might be taking a darker turn on Bionic Woman. He joined the story as a partner & mentor to Jamie, but this week his loyalties come under question when Jamie uses her bionic powers to discover some disturbing news. Bee Movie: Movie Review
2007-11-14 10:00:01
Directors: Steve Hickner, Simon J. Smith Starring: Jerry Seinfeld, Renée Zellweger, Matthew Broderick, Patrick Warburton, John Goodman, Chris Rock, Kathy Bates, Barry Levinson Genre: Animation, Comedy, Family Rated: Rated PG for mild suggestive humor, and a brief depiction of smoking Plot: Barry B. Benson, is a bee who is faced with the biggest decision of his life, and well, the only decision of a bees life, which honey making job does he want. Before settling down to an endless life of honey production, Barry takes a special trip outside the hive. When his life is saved by a florist name Vanessa, a scandalous mixed-species relationship blossoms. While spending time with his illicit girlfriend, he discovers humans enslave bees to make honey for them. Barry then decides to sue the human race. My Review: Bee Movie has successfully been hyped using every outlet at ABC/Disney’s disposal. The hype has only increased as this is Jerry Seinfeld’s first major project since endin ...
Mark Wahlbreg Set To Bring The ‘Payne’ In Video Game Adaptation
2007-11-14 08:00:57
One of my favorite video game franchise that got less attention than it should have was the Max Payne series. You played as Max Payne, a NY cop embroiled in a conspiracy that left him framed for murder. The game earned a lot of parallels to The Matrix due to its “bullet time” slow-mo play, but interestingly Payne was well into development years before The Matrix was, it just didn’t get out until after (games take a long, long time). Thankfully someone was paying attention to this series though as Twentieth Century Fox has just lined up Mark Wahlberg to star in the big screen adaptation. Even better is the news that Uwe Boll won’t have anything to do with this game-to-movie event. Variety reports: Twentieth Century Fox has Mark Wahlberg in the crosshairs for “Max Payne,” a live-action adaptation of the bestselling Rockstar videogame that will begin early next year. John Moore will direct. Wahlberg is negotiating to play the titular cop who i ...
