NBC Picks Up Full Season Options For Chuck & Life
2007-11-28 10:00:47
NBC must be enjoying Chuck as much as you are because they just picked up the new series for a full season. That is, of course, if anyone was around to write it for them. Just like Chuck’s employer encourages, NBC was in the ‘buy more’ state of mind and also ordered up a full season of Life. So what about the other two mainline shows that NBC was pushing? Well, no word yet on if Bionic Woman or Journeyman will get the same greenlight. My prediction is that we’ll see Bionic Woman get a new battery but Journeyman won’t make the same trip (ugh, stop it already, those are terrible jokes). I just can’t imagine NBC dropping Bionic after all the excessive promotion money and effort they put into pushing that show. Yes, it’s bad. Yes, it probably should be dropped. But how many series have been less than stellar while going on to being very enjoyable? Probably not as many shows as those that have started strong and then dropped off rapi ...

Shrek does Christmas
2007-11-28 09:00:02
Tonight ABC will be airing what they hope will be a new Christmas classic, Shrek the Halls. Shrek and the gang (including the new young ones) is back for an exciting Christmas adventure. The half-hour tv show will feature the voices of the stars from the Shrek films including Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, and Antonio Banderas. ABC has added Shrek the Halls to its lineup of old time Christmas classics (you know, the ones we watched as kids), like Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, The Grinch, and A Charlie Brown Christmas. Shrek the Halls will air tonight at 8/7c on ABC followed immediately by the Grinch. Indiana Jones 4: Sneak Peek Look At Indy & Shia In Action
2007-11-28 08:00:10
We might still have six more months to go before the summer release of Indiana Jones 4 “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, but you can take a sneak peek at Indy and Shia in full gear. The movie just finished filming a few weeks ago and will be hitting lots of post production (airbrushing wrinkles out of every frame takes longer than you might guess) and then there will be time for so much marketing you’ll want to take a look inside the Ark yourself. I’m impressed and surprised by how much younger Harrison Ford looks in the first picture than he did in Firewall (which I barely scraped through this weekend, ugh). The second, darker picture gives him a grayer look, but either way I think I’m finally willing to accept this 65 year old in an action role. What about you? Dancing With The Stars 5 Finale Results
2007-11-27 20:39:00
After 10 weeks, tonight is the big payoff. One of the three final couples is crowned the Season 5 Dancing With The Stars Champions. They didn’t waste any time starting the festivities tonight. After a brief recap of last night’s performances, the first couple was eliminated. Looking at last night’s Leader Board it will be no surprise that Marie & Jonathon were the third place couple: Overall Judge’s Leader Board Mel & Maksim: 55 Helio & Julianne: 54 Marie & Jonathon: 46 I wasn’t the only one who questioned whether Marie & Jonathon belonged in the finals. Even Maks did too. Everyone has agreed that Marie always gave a great performance. She and Jonathon were fun to watch there was no doubt about that but, they were never quite in the same league as many of the other stars. For their final performance Marie & Jonathon performed their Paso Doble from week 6 which was definitely one of their best routines. While Mel & Maks and ...
Heath Ledger As The Joker; Empire Front Page Pic Leaked
2007-11-27 13:42:11
Despite Empire magazine’s plans to slowly reveal a full, high detailed look at Heath Ledger as The Joker you can take a peak right now. Things leak too easy on the ol’ web, thanks to hippies, and that’s why I don’t trust it for anything. I even still refuse to use the Internet to this very day and I stand by that. Full pic after the jump. Watch The Dark Knight teaser trailer here and find more pics of The Joker over here. Maksim Says Marie Osmond Didn’t Earn Her DWTS Wins
2007-11-27 12:00:26
Marie Osmond has made it quite a season of surprise survivals week after week. While her status as an Osmond has earned her a legion of fans some are arguing that its this same fan base keeping her around each week rather her dancing abilities. We’ve seen a lot of back and forth between those arguing on both sides of that fence, but I was most surprised to hear someone speak up much closer to the source. Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the dancing partner of the leading competitor Mel B., spoke out against Marie in an interview with Extra: “Frankly, I think there were a lot of other people better than Marie,” Chmerkovskiy tells Extra, suggesting that the 48-year-old singer was carried into the finale due to public sympathy over the loss of her father and her 16-year-old son’s recent entry into rehab. “I know firsthand there are a lot of celebrities on the show that went through similar situations [family issues] this season and decided not to make it public,” Chmerkovskiy ...
Dancing With The Stars 5 Week 10: The Finals!
2007-11-26 21:47:57
This is it. The last chance for the stars to strut their stuff and show us what they’ve got. Tomorrow one of these three couples will be crowned season 5’s Dancing With The Stars Champions. Each couple will perform two routines tonight. The first will be the judge’s choice. In this round the judges will have decided which dance each of the couples will perform. The second round is a freestyle routine in which the couples are literally free of the rules for an given ballroom dance to perform strictly for your entertainment. So without further ado (I always wanted to say that), here is how our stars did tonight. Melanie Brown & Maksim Chmerkovsky Dance: Cha Cha Cha Mel & Maks gave us a solid performance. Perhaps not quire up to their normal level of perfection but it wasn’t a bad way to start off the show. Len said “It was crisp, it was clean, it was precise. For me, one or two funny bits in it.” Bruno liked it and complimented Mel on how far s ...

Dancing With The Stars 5 Finals Performance Preview
2007-11-26 10:00:30
Three couples remain to compete for the Dancing With The Stars Championship. We are just six performances away from crowning this season’s champions. Last week with the disappointing (at least for me) elimination for Jennie & Derek, the remaining couples are Helio & Julianne, Mel & Maks, and Marie & Jonathon. Based on past performance it is really a competition between Helio & Julianne and Mel & Maks. Either one of these couples has a chance to win. They have both had their share of perfect scores and awesome performances. Even though I’m personally rooting for Helio & Julianne, I think Mel & Maks might have a slight edge. While Marie & Jonathon have worked hard, done well, and been very entertaining, they aren’t really in the same league as the other two couples. If Marie and Jonathon win, unless they had the performance of their lives and the other two couples fell flat on their faces (literally) I might stop watching the sho ...
Hulk Hogan Surprised By Own Divorce
2007-11-26 08:00:49
Hulk Hogan, whose latest foray into celebrity has been with his reality show ‘Hogan Knows Best’, got quite a surprise this weekend by a Florida reporter with the St. Petersburg Times. The reporter called Hogan for an interview and asked for a comment on his pending divorce. Hogan’s wife, Linda Marie Bollea, had filed papers back on Tuesday but apparently didn’t bother to tell her husband. So when the reporter asked Hulk he thanked him for the “great information” and hung up only to call back later and talk to the reporter some more about it: “I’m kind of shocked,” he said. “You caught me off-guard. My wife has been in California for about three weeks. … Holy smokes. Wow, you just knocked the bottom out of me. … I just pulled over to the side of the road for five minutes to find out what was going here.” Well that sucks for Hogan after 24 years to find out like that, but who calls back the reporter? The couple had been ...
Entertainment Week In Review: November 19 - 23, 2007
2007-11-24 16:17:25
Here are your entertainment news highlights from this past week: Nov 19 - 23, 2007 Monday: Jim Gaffigan stopped by to tell us about Pale Force on NBC with Conan O’Brien. Sometimes it feels good for us to help out the little guy. Just kidding! Thanks, Jim! Tuesday: Terminator 4’s director was announced to be McG. Yeah, he’s the guy that did The O.C., which seems like a perfect segue into a futuristic robot killing machine movie, right? Wednesday: Charlie Koznick from NBC’s Coastal Dreams dropped in to tell us about his series and upcoming movie with Eddie Murphy, “Nowhereland”. Thursday: Want to own some of Michael Scott’s wardrobe? Maybe one of Isaac’s fortune telling paintings from Heroes? They’re all for auction and good luck on those paintings. Friday: Brad Pitt might get himself sued by Universal for dropping out of “State of Play” in the middle of filming. Guess who they’re looking to replace him. O ...

Weekend Humor: Comedy Central’s Last Laugh 2007
2007-11-24 10:00:31
I always enjoy Comedy Central’s end of year specials and this time they were clever enough to get Tay Zonday (Chocolate Rain YouTube fame) to do their promo. If you’ve somehow missed his Chocolate Rain song then you’re likely to have missed on a lot of other bits from this year. Check out the video below to see just how many words they can get to rhyme with ‘rain’. As I was watching the video I noticed they finally got him to stop swinging his head away from the mic to breath, but just wait, that shows up later. Brad Pitt Drops Out Of “State Of Play” Over Script Issues
2007-11-23 10:14:27
Brad Pitt just dropped out of the currently filming movie “State of Play” over script concerns, according to Reuters: Brad Pitt has pulled out of Universal’s political thriller “State of Play” because of script concerns. The move comes after a couple of weeks of meetings between Pitt and director Kevin Macdonald (”The Last King of Scotland”) in an attempt to iron out the concerns. Considering the ongoing WGA strike movies that already have their scripts in place can go ahead with filming and are allowed only to either change who says lines or remove lines. No other changes can be made. So at this point when someone doesn’t like something and wants it redone, well they can’t. So did Pitt use this as an excuse to drop out? No clue here, but that’d be a sneaky way to do it these days. “State of Play” is an adaptation of a BBC miniseries which sounds more like it was an adaptation of US Congressman Gary Condit ...

Turkey Day Fun Stuff: NBC Auctions, Cool Tools, & Tin Man
2007-11-22 09:02:19
We hope you’re having a great Thanksgiving. In case football isn’t your ideal way to spend the day (I’ll promise to try and not judge you) then here are a few alternatives: NBC is going to be auctioning off props, costumes, and other material from some of its top shows, including Isaac’s fortune telling paintings from Heroes, Michael Scott high fashion from The Office, and the family crest of Prince Gerhardt von Hapsburg (Paul Reubens) from 30 Rock. The auction starts on the 19th, and ends on Dec. 3rd, and is hosted at www.nbc.com/auction. A portion of the proceeds go to the United Way and its partner organizations. “Cool Tools” gives viewers an inside look at the latest innovations and coolest gadgets on the market today, and it’s hosted by comedian Chris Grundy. The show airs Thursdays at 9pm ET, with a special 2-hour premier this Thursday Nov. 22 starting at 8. The “Cool Tools” online content is really comprehensive, ...
