Publican Article
2007-08-07 12:19:24
Good to see that interest in snuff is continuing to grow as the latest edition of the Publican magazine features an article on snuff and smokefree alternatives. It seems there are a few companies now trying to get snuff into vending machines in pubs across the country, but I can only see this as a good thing if it raises awareness about snuff to the wider population. I talked to the journalist a few weeks back and managed to get a cheap plug in for the website as well. You can read the full article by clicking on the first link on the Press page. read more ...
Kendal Snuff - Now Available!!!
2007-08-07 11:51:32
Greetings fellow snuffers. You may now be glad to hear that I have added a small selection of Gawith Hoggarth Kendal snuffs to the Snuff Supermarket store - http://www.snuffsupermarket.co.uk/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=4 These snuffs are at the completely other end of spectrum to the moist Poschl snuffs. You can almost taste the wonderful surrounds of the Lake District in these snuffs that have a full bodied, earthy flavour. Kendal snuffs took me a little while to get used to but I now savour the strong tobacco flavourings. read more ...

Greetings fellow snuffers. Ah it's nice to be back from the big smoke where I spent the last few days frantically trapsing round the streets of London looking for a flat to live in that wasn't either a fleapit, in a hell hole of a suburb and didn't cost more than the crown jewels to live in each week. Still I guess it's time to move on from my cosy life down here in Bath and head up to the London town and ply my snuff wares on the capital. read more ...
Armageddon in Europe?
2007-07-28 08:44:53
I was sitting back the other night, snuffing away and watching the news from across Europe and I had to wonder what the heck was going on? Firstly we have the UK, where certain places resemble scenes from Kevin Costner's tiresome epic 'Waterworld'. Although to be honest, it's even worse than that, as I can't remeber hearing about any kids with ASBO's vandalising the only supply of running water. Then the next report comes on and shows footage of a heatwave in Hungary killing thousands and forest fires ravishing parts of Greece and Italy like a scene out of hell. read more ...
Binge Snuffing - Round 2
2007-07-23 06:46:04
What do you get if you have been on a session all morning, have a bag of snuff on your back, a lady friend who plies snuff to all people nearby, a group of 6 lads enjoying an afternoon pint but willing to be led astray and a small friendly real traditional pub? Well, complete mayhem is the answer! read more ...
Binge Snuffing - Round 1
2007-07-23 05:22:12
Oh my Lordy, I am still hanging badly today after a marathon snuffathon on Saturday. I started off the day by meeting Ye Olde Snuffer, Ivor Noseful and his good lady Pat, along with a couple of friends of mine in the Star Inn for a lunchtime kick off. We spent a very enjoyable couple of hours together sampling different snuffs and exchanging snuff stories. The Gawith Hoggarth Tia Maria, Kendal Brown, and Lakeland snuffs proved to be a winner with all and I had the pleasure of sampling Wilsons Crumbs of Comfort and Irish Toast for the first time, which are indeed in a league of their own. read more ...
Snuffer's Daydream
2007-07-20 11:48:46
What a week that has been eh. I thought this was meant to be the summertime. I mean it's not as if the summer we get over here lasts exactly long does it? And this year what do we get? Rain, rain, more rain and then a bit more rain. Now to be honest with you in usual situations this would drive me absolutely nuts, however, this week I have been fairly calm about it all as I received a delivery of about 30 new snuffs for me to try out. read more ...
Ashton Court Festival
2007-07-15 14:51:45
Am slowly recovering today from yesterday's excess snufftaking and over indulgence in a well known alcoholic apple juice. I headed over to the Ashton Court Festival in Bristol for the first time in many years, and like so many things in this wonderful country, I can wholeheartedly say that it has really gone to the dogs. This festival was once the biggest free festival in Europe with a really relaxed vibe, a couple of stages and a nice location, if you could manage to climb the hill to reach the festival. Yesterday, however, was the complete opposite. read more ...

2007-07-11 04:30:40
After another highly scientific poll I can now announce the results of STUK readers favourite snuff manufacturers....(drum roll please!) In first place, with a good margin and a staggering 26% of your votes was McChrystal's of Leicester, who led this poll pretty much from the start. Taking a well deserved second place, was the family favourite, Wilsons of Sharrow, with 17% and hot on the heals of Wilsons with 15% of the vote were our German friends Pöschl who take STUK's bronze medal! read more ...
Grandma's a Snuffer!
2007-07-08 07:31:44
I know that there is a sort of stigma attached to snufftaking that it is only taken by the older population but it does seem that more and more younger folk are becoming interested in this habit. However, to completely throw my theory on its head, it seems that I have introduced snuff to someone who can't exactly be described as young. I went to visit my Gran yesterday who is 95 years old and still going strong and I thought I'd gauge her reaction to snuff. read more ...
Snuffers Happy Hour
2007-07-06 13:12:36
It's Friday at last, but something is a little strange, something doesn't feel right and I just can't put my finger on it. Oh yes, that is it.... Firstly I am not in the pub, and secondly I haven't had a cigarette, which is why I am feeling a little strange I suppose, or maybe just sober. read more ...
I need a cigarette!
2007-07-04 06:08:40
Ok, ok, ok, I know I only quit on Sunday. Was that really only 3 days ago? Surely not. Seems like a few months in smokers days. I know I go on and on about the virtues of snuff and how it is a good nicotine replacement product, which it is, but it isn't just the nicotine that us smokers crave. Something about lighting up a cigarette and inhaling the toxic fumes that I kind of enjoy!!! Sorry, I mean, I kind of enjoyed, as I am now an ex-smoker of course!!! read more ...
Smoking Ban Rant
2007-07-02 14:30:55
So, it's finally here and we can now reminisce about the good old days sitting in front of the local pub fire, relaxing with a pint and puffing away on a pack of 20 cigarettes or smoking your favourite pipe. Well no more shall thee do that! read more ...

As part of my field research towards on the smoking ban I headed down to the Star Inn, in Bath last night to meet a few fellow snuffers and do a little piece with Radio Bristol. read more ...
