Sci-Fi Greenlights “Revolution”
2007-10-18 12:21:11
This sounds like it has a lot of potential for contemporary reflections and analysis. I’ll be keeping an eye on this. SCI FI CHANNEL GREENLIGHTS NEW CBS PARAMOUNT PILOT REVOLUTION FROM WRITERS/EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS ED REDLICH AND JOHN BELUCCI AND EXECUTIVE PRODUCER SIMON WEST New York, NY - October 18, 2007 — SCI FI Channel has greenlighted a two-hour drama/action pilot entitled Revolution, it was announced today by Mark Stern, Executive Vice President of Original Programming SCI FI. Much like our own revolution and the struggles of the American colonists, Revolution is the sweeping story of > ‘> New America,> ‘> a distant colony on an Earth-like planet struggling for its independence from an increasingly hostile homeland. Revolution is created and written by Ed Redlich (Shark, Without a Trace) and John Bellucci (Jack and Bobby, Without a Trace) who will both serve as executive producers along with executive producer Simon West (Con Air, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider ...

The Dancer Brain Test
2007-10-04 17:00:52
The Right Brain vs Left Brain test … do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise? If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa. Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it. LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS uses logic detail oriented facts rule words and language present and past math and science can comprehend knowing acknowledges order/pattern perception knows object name reality based forms strategies practical safe RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS uses feeling “big picture” oriented imagination rules symbols and images present and future philosophy & religion can “get it” (i.e. meaning) believes appreciates spatial perception knows object function fantasy based presents possibilities impetuous risk taking ...
Tudyk: ‘Serenity’ Sequel Possible?
2007-10-04 16:27:05
Speaking to MovieHole, Alan Tudyk (Wash) has said there is a “chance” of another movie. “They had to put [the new DVD] out because they’ve been selling out of the other one and so Universal’s like “So, let’s do another one”. And now… there’s now a chance there’s going to be another movie”. Tudyk agrees that even if it was a direct-to-DVD movie, it’d still be worthwhile. Especially since the whole DVD sequel is a big trend. “It really is”, says Tudyk. “Everybody in the Firefly crew …and that includes the ones who died in the movie … are excited about the prospect of doing another”. Fingers and toes crossed, eh? ...

The Faceless Ones
2007-10-01 18:02:35
I’m one of the few defenders of Time-Flight, but after seeing The Faceless Ones, one of the few things I enjoyed about Time-Flight evaporates. Both serials focus on the kidnapping of airplane passengers for notorious means, but The Faceless Ones does it much better for more sensible reasons. However, Time-Flight put into better use of The Doctor’s multiple companions, although the lack of Ben and Polly after episode 2 isn’t the fault of the writers, but rather a result of contract dispute (so it is suspected). That said, the disappearance of Ben and Polly raise the stakes personally for The Doctor and Jamie (and even further after Jamie is captured). Putting that aside, I thoroughly enjoyed the story. It was filled with mystery and intrigue because of the uncertainty of who these Chameleon aliens were, what they were up to, and who wasn’t actually human. The conflict between The Doctor and the Commandant was well handled and I like the progress of trust between ...
Fortune Favours the Bold
2007-09-19 12:43:15
The following was written by myself for the Sci-Fi Studios Magazine. Please give the magazine a look, if you have the time. Otherwise, simply enjoy the article. Deep Space Nine is one of the most critically acclaimed Trek incarnations. There, I’ve said it. Sure, The Original Series and The Next Generation undoubtedly hold special places in the hearts of a great many fans, but to those citizens of the world who aren’t Star Trek fans (or perhaps not even sci-fi fans), Deep Space Nine is very highly thought of. Being a fan, unfortunately, doesn’t grant you that godly power of critical acclaim. TV Guide stated that it would be remembered as the finest of all the Star Trek shows. So why do some feel it faltered? Certainly, it isn’t the most popular in the Trek fandom, and is often overlooked by networks both in the US and abroad when it comes to repeats; it’s like a shameful relative that the others try to sweep under the rug. Perhaps foremostly, DS9 broke th ...

Doctor Who To Have One Year Break
2007-09-03 13:11:06
The rumours have been flying ’round the interweb for weeks and now finally we have confirmation. Here’s the schedule: 2007 Christmas - “Voyage of The Damned” 2008 April - Series four begins airing 2008 Christmas - Special airs NO SERIES FOR 2009………….However, throughout ‘09 we will have THREE separate specials, in lieu of an actual thriteen episode series. Speculation is that this gives David Tennant time to pursue some stage work(Shakespeare)and perhaps some other film work. Additional rumours circulating is this could be the time needed for the proposed changes behind the scenes to take place. Show runner Russell T Davies may be leaving(well, he WILL at some point)and this gives the new team time to plot a new course. The show will return for its fifth series in 2010, at which point we have ZERO idea who will be in front of OR behind the camera. All we DO know is that George Bush WILL NOT be president. And that&rsquo ...
