American Idol Final Audition Night 2008-02-06 20:20:13 Well the last of the nationwide auditions are over and now 164 contestants will move on to Hollywood.  As usual it was another weird night of auditions.  One blonde contestant did poorly; but then Randy and Paula both felt she sounded alot like Dolly Parton and insisted that she go out, learn a Dolly Parton song and come back.  She did and they voted her on to Hollywood.  Simon begrudingly admitted that Randy and Paula were right.  There was a gorgeous blonde that couldn’t sing; but had a cute Pomeranian puppy that Simon just loved.  The puppy won a trip to Hollywood; but the blonde didn’t.  ... Super Win for Eli Manning and Giants 2008-02-04 16:58:00 It was great to see young Eli Manning come through in the clutch against the “unbeatable” New England Patriots.  I kind of thought that the Patiots run was going to end as they had won several close games towards the end of the season, some where they had to come from behind to win.  Just felt like their luck was going to run out eventually.  And it did yesterday in Super Bowl XLII in Arizona as New York won 17-14.  So the Patriots fail in their bid to have a perfect season.  Only the 1972 Miami Dolphins can make that boast.   The game was the second most watched TV show of all-time with 97.5 million viewers, eclipsed only by the 1983 M*A*S*H* finale, which had 106 million viewers. ...

American Idol in Miami 2008-01-31 00:16:08 Well it was on to Miami for last night’s American Idol auditions. It showed Simon and Randy riding up an escalator when they first arrived and Simon asks “where are we”? He seemed to be suffering from jet lag. As for the show only 17 contestants were selected to go to Hollywood; but some of them did seem really talented. The women contestants especially seemed really good, while not too many men were picked. One contestant (forget her name) I thought was really good and had been on the American Juniors show four years ago as a 12 year old. She had a good voice and seemed really polished and professional. I figured she was a shoe-in for moving on to Hollywood; but all three judges said “no”, and she was dismissed. Simon tried to make it sound like she was too rehearsed and she said she had practiced “in front of a mirror”; but excuse me, I thought the whole idea was to be polished and prepared. American Idol in Omaha 2008-01-30 13:51:39 Host Ryan Seacrest sat in as a judge for Paula Abdul who was MIA. Well, in my opinion, at least there was *some* talent in Omaha, the same can’t be said for Charleston, South Carolina. Paula finally shows up and just in time for many of the auditioners to forget the lyrics. As usual it was quite a motley crew that showed up for the auditions. Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles 2008-01-29 02:57:15 In last night’s episode, Sarah decides that she and her son must move and in a hurry.  They’re baack!  John doesn’t want to be uprooted; but must go along with his mother and so they move.  Sarah breaks off her engagement and when her fiancee goes to the police, is he in for a surprise.  The FBI is there and the agent proceeds to tell him that Sarah is a wacko who has these weird stories of beings from the future trying to kill her and her son and to take over the world.  On his first day in his new school, John meets Cameron who has been sent to protect him.  Good thing too.  It turns out that there’s a little more than meets the eye with John’s teacher.  Actually alot more as he proceeds to shoot up the entire classroom trying to kill John.  At the end of the show Cameron takes Sarah and John to a bank to make a withdrawal; but not for money but to build a gun that will supposedly destroy the robot sent to kill John.  Then she uses this machin ...

The Return of ABC’s “Lost” 2008-01-26 13:37:44 ABC’s Lost TV series returns on Thursday, January 31 at 8:00 p.m. ET.  Lost returns for its much anticipated fourth season (shortened by the writer’s strike) with 8 all new episodes airing without any reruns.  Thursday’s premiere will be a 2 hour affair.  My favorite character on Lost is Kate, played by Evangeline Lilley a young, up and coming actress who received a 2007 Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Drama Series. Another show favorite of mine is Elizabeth Mitchell as Juliet.  While she has tons of movie and TV credits to her resume; Mitchell’s most notable role was probably that as girlfriend to Angelina Jolie in her portrayal of supermodel GIA in the Golden Globe-winning HBO television film.  Anyhow, to those “Lost” fanatics out there, your long wait is almost over. ...
