Picture Post: Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S 2008
2008-01-01 12:57:49
Now that it is officially 2008, it’s time to get back down to business. First of all, I hope everyone had a relaxing holiday and got the much some need rest (or was that just me?). To celebrate 2008 I think I will bring you a couple of my favorite infatuations for the new year,M.I.A. and Marc Jacobs. Marc Jacobs because his Spring/Summer 2008 collections really riled the fashion industry up, and M.I.A. because I just bought Kala, and there are a couple of songs that are so boss (”Come Around” anyone?). In light of all of this I give you the Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S ‘08 ad campaign photographed by Juergen Teller. Continue Reading… ...
Pink Rock Candy is 1 Year Old!
2007-12-22 15:26:06
It’s been an entire year since I started Pink Rock Candy, and I can’t say how crazy that is to me. To think this little blog started on a whim, and has lasted all this time blows my mind! I want this upcoming year to be even better than the first. I have a few new ideas, but I want to know what you would like to see on Pink Rock Candy too. You can leave suggestions in a comment or email them to me, and I’ll get on them. This is also a great time to tell me about your blog if you’d like to do a link exchange, or tell me about new designers or bands. Thanks for an amazing year; I wish I could give you all presents, but I can’t. Sorry! Have a great Christmas, I’m not really taking any time off for the holidays because I’m not going anywhere, so if I’m bored I might even post on Christmas. I’ll also be cruising the net so leave me a comment on any of my profiles or the PRC profiles. HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Chelsea Rae ...

Travis McCoy Shares New Music
2007-12-20 10:50:44
So, Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes fame has a blog. (Did that sound professional?) Anyway, as I said, Travie has a blog, and its chock full of pictures of his adventures with stupid/funny blurbs, videos about god knows what, and the meaning of life, or not! But, that’s not the important part. Travie also has this little side project going on with Nick Scimeca called Tequila Mockingbird, and he posted a song for your listening pleasure on this blog of his. Continue Reading… ...
Ashlee Simpson: ‘Outta My Head’ Video
2007-12-20 08:50:44
Ashlee Simpson’s new music video for “Outta My Head” came out yesterday, and I have to say. I sort of like it! I’m not saying the song is fabulous by any stretch of the imagination (it kind of makes me want to jazzercise), though I do have a sneaking suspicion it is the type of song that’ll grow on you, and before you know it you’re singing “outta my, outta my head…” Anyway, the song is debatable, but the music video is fun especially considering Ashlee’s obvious Rubix Cube lap dancing talents, and who ever styled the video is amazing. Is High School to Trendy?
2007-12-19 09:24:16
Yesterday, during the rundown of her amazing trip to Las Vegas which included her getting an internship at Seventeen (Congrats hun!), Miss Couturable mentioned the stereotypical trends of high school girls, “Uggs, Northface jackets, Abercrombie camisoles, Tiffany & Co. charm necklaces, and True Religion jeans.” She wanted to know what people thought about them. Many people who left comments admitted to wearing some of the common trends, but not because they were “status symbols,” and it was never more than a couple of the trends worn by any one girl. A Dress for the Holidays
2007-12-17 11:12:11
Though the holidays are here and almost done with, and standard shipping won’t get anything to you buy Christmas, a girl can still dream of her perfect holiday dress. We are always looking for the type of dress grandma will swoon over, the boyfriend will want to rip off, and your strange, a little too touchy, uncle will compliment you a thousand times on (God, I hope I don’t have one of those!). If you haven’t yet found that dress, Built by Wendy might be the place to make your next stop. Continue Reading… ...

Are the Grammys Overrated?
2007-12-11 08:51:36
Yet again, its a slow week for new albums, so no new releases post this week, but the Grammys are around the corner! The nominees came out a little while ago and included a lot of Amy Winehouse and Kanye West, some Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake, Rhianna, and even Paramore and Plain White T’s (see the entire list here), but that isn’t what has been intriguing. The interesting part is the rumblings from other musicians about the importance of the Grammys, or lack there of. Continue Reading… ...
The Perfect Interview Outfit
2007-12-10 09:38:13
Its Winter, the time of the year when snow hinders driving, the chilly temperatures cause sandals to go into hiding, and a million girls start scrabbling to fill the few summer intern positions in the fashion industry. As in every industry looking professional is important. If you are interviewing for a position in a scientific field a nice suit would be the best option, but wearing a boring suit to an interview for Betsey Johnson is not an option. So, what do you wear to an interview in the fashion world? Continue Reading… ...
Blaming Musicians for Shootings Again?
2007-12-10 09:01:52
I knew it would happen. As soon as I heard about the mall shooting in Omaha, Nebraska, I knew the giant finger of blame would be pointed at emo music. The only thing is, I figured they’d start pointing it at bands like My Chemical Romance or Fall Out Boy because they are technically mainstream names. I thought they’d make it easy to put a face to the name, not pick someone the general public might have to google. I definitely never thought the blame would be placed on one, Conor Oberst, lead singer of Bright Eyes, but Radar magazine is pointing their finger at droopy-eyed Oberst, who also happens to be from Omaha and has dubbed him the Monster of the Week! Continue Reading… ...
