Janet recommends “eating light” and does not believe eating is about deprivation. She compensates her cheat days with more exercise. While she continues to work with her nutritionist, she has now hired a chef to prepare her meals instead of using a food delivery service as she did, which was the same thing Ricki Lake uses, called Fresh Dining. She’s following a 1300-1650 calories-a-day meal plan with 3 meals and 2 snacks plus an hour of exercise six days a week. Although now, she is doing about half that. Janet curbs her hunger by eliminating processed carbs and having a good amount of protein with each meal. Ricki Lake is famous for yo yo dieting. She’s even went to extreme diets where she states she wasn’t eating and always exercising which would cause her to faint. Hmmm…too weak to eat, now that’s trendy. But now weighing in at 123 lbs, she lost over half her body weight from her heaviest of 250 lbs.. How did she do it? 1200 calorie-a-day intakes from pre packaged meals from Fresh Dining and walking 1 1/2 hours each day. That’s great but with Ricki’s history of dieting, I think she’s set herself up to fail. Walking is great and if she can discipline herself to do it daily it will be easier for her to maintain her new weight. However relying on pre-packaged foods may give her troubles in the long run. Unless she plans to order from Fresh Dining forever, she will gain weight back mark my words.
