Mom-to-be Nicole Richie and her fiancé Joel Madden have been denied their dream home — because locals are concerned about the constant presence of the paparazzi.
The couple recently made an offer on a home in a gated community in Southern California, but was turned down by their potential neighbors because of the unwanted attention their celebrity status would bring.
Nicole is reportedly furious at their decision.
A source tells US Weekly, “Nicole was livid because she loved the house. She thinks it’s a bullshit reason, but she couldn’t fight it.”

The 19-year-old singer vows to never enter rehab because of a drink or drug problem, insisting she is too tough to collapse under the strains of fame.
She says, “I refuse to crack under pressure — in fact I thrive on it. So when I read about Britney and Amy Winehouse who have suffered under it, it’s sad. It is easy to criticize them but it happens. You just have to stay focused and keep your feet on the ground.”
For a girl who claims to have her feet on the ground, Rihanna certainly looks like she wouldn’t mind climbing up and down a strip pole…

K-Fed Wants Brit-Brit Off The Road

Kevin Federline wants his ex-wife Britney Spears banned from driving while their kids are in her care.
K-Fed made his views known through his lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, during an emergency hearing in Los Angeles on Thursday.
The plea came just hours after Brit-Brit was spotted shelling out more than $200,000 on a luxury Mercedes-Benz in Van Nuys, California on Wednesday.
Neither Brit-Brit nor K-Fed, who has been granted custody of their two boys, appeared in court for the last-minute meeting.
Kaplan told L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon, “We’re asking that she personally shouldn’t be the driver of the children.”
Gordon ruled he was not going to make any modifications to existing custody orders except to emphasize that a drug testing laboratory must be able to reach Brit-Brit at a single telephone number.
K-Fed’s request to stop Brit-Brit from driving the children will be discussed at a hearing on November 26, 2007.

50 Cent Refuses to Retire

50 Cent has defended his decision not to retire from the rap game after he lost to Kanye West in the U.S. chart battle, insisting it is “impossible” for rappers to quit.
The In Da Club hitmaker promised he would step down as an MC if Kanye’s Graduation topped his Curtis album on the Billboard charts — which it did in September ‘07.
But 50, real name Curtis Jackson, has reneged on his promise to retire, and instead has vowed to continue battling for chart dominance.
He says, “I don’t know if it’s possible for a rapper to retire, rappers are like fighters. They condition themselves to be the best. All rappers think they are the best. And they are just waiting for everyone else to recognize they are the best. You’ll see them come back and come back.”
