While Eazy was the "Godfather" of Compton Rap, he had to get it on Quik's success while not signing him to Ruthless. So to keep it gangsta, he signs one of Quik's groups, The Penthouse Players Clique. This was also around the time Dre was leaving Ruthless and Eazy was looking for another producer to come in and hold shit down.
