Radia Cell Phone
2007-06-10 11:38:00
As cellular phones become a standard, the statement they make as a symbol and a fashion accessory has become increasingly important. The Radia phone concept expresses simplicity in form and sophistication in function and user interface. The outer rim, which is made of brushed aluminum makes both a refined professional statement. The touch-display is large enough to read and display many types of information, yet small enough to maintain a pocket-sized device. Simplicity is also expressed in the power button, which is flanked by the earpiece speaker, and balanced by the microphone which is 180 degrees around the perimeter.Designer: Michael Laut ...

MP3 Pebble Object
2007-06-10 11:28:00
I like to think about current and future product experiences and manufacturing processes in comparison with nature, and how stones and trees and flowers, for instance, become what they are. Each natural ?product? is a unique specimen; nothing else compares to one, after another, after another. Imagine if the manufacture of consumer electronics afforded such diversity! Imagine if consumers had the pick of an endless array of devices, each one its own distinct shape, size and color while keeping the internal components the same. What if products could take on the diversity of nature? What if products embodied twists and contours, and off-colored spots? What if a line of MP3 players, say, could be designed to resemble an array of pebbles scattered along an ocean's shore? Or like a basketful of heirloom tomatoes at a farmers' market? Imagine the possibilities of mass customizing with such diversity in mind How would it change the way we interact with devices? How would it change the exper ...

Stitch Customizable Eyewear
2007-06-09 17:23:00
In a society where each person strives to create his/her own fashion identity, mass produced fashion items fail to deliver consumer's needs to be unique. In a competitive and saturated eyewear market, sheer volume of similar products forces even the most "unique" item to be common. By allowing consumers to design their own eyewear, "Stitch" breaks out of convention and gives each consumer power to create his/her truly unique eyewear. "Stitch" provides simple, modern shape with tiny holes on its frame that can easily be stitched with threads to create abundant designs. Own a pair of "Stitch" and step into a world of individuality.Designer: Seungyoub Oh ...

Jaga Experience Truck
2007-06-09 17:12:00
The instant success of the Experience Lab (project which aims to introduce people to their radiators without actually showing them) triggered the idea at Jaga (radiator brand) to bring the same experience and emotions into a moving platform or medium that allows to mimic this wherever in the world Jaga wants to go. That led to the idea of creating an 'experience truck'. On the base of a Mercedes Actros platform, Arne Quinze designed a new body that holds a projection room - VIP lounge, kitchen. The body is completely handmade in high quality polyester and high tech coatings. The 90 windows in 6 different forms allows for a spectacular color pattern. Again the aim is to focus on the experience rather than the products.Designer: Arne Quinze [ Via: Dezeen ] ...

Electronic Sensors Improves Alignment Problems
2007-06-09 13:41:00
These are Electronic Sensors that are a part of the tire and provide information to the Vehicle Information System in order to improve alignment problems. This enables the Tweel ribs to flex through Wireless Technology. When flex occurs, the tire stays at a level pressure through down force on the inside wall of the tire by the ribs.By covering the outside surface with transparent rubber of the current Tweel design helps with water evacuation, cornering, esthetic and balancing problems resulted from ice build up.Designer: Sylvian Bryan ...

Indian outsourcing firms, Microsoft, Google and others speak out on the restrictions on hiring foreign help The pervasiveness of the Internet allows for a new definition of a ?global market,? opening doors not only for businesses, but also labor forces. While a corporation may cater its products and services to a worldwide audience, it must adhere to strict rules with it comes to their human resources. One such regulation by the U.S. government is the H1-B non-immigrant visa, which allows employers to seek temporary help (six years per visa) from skilled foreigners who have the equivalent U.S. Bachelor's Degree education.
