What are you doing about your Two Big R’s?
2007-07-18 08:14:39
Sadly we’re not talking about Rest and Relaxation but Recruitment and Retention. How do you find your good people? And when you’ve hired them, how do you make them stay?
I’m Paul Grafton, Head of HR Recruitment at BLT. These are the issues that seem to be keeping most HR professionals awake at night. Whilst I’d rather not hear about your nightmares, I sympathise…….and maybe I can help.
Recently in an article in People Management (22nd June 2007), Lianne Hornsey, EMEA HR and Staffing Director at Google, highlighted that making the right recruitment decisions is the most important element of talent management.
So what do you think? Do you have an integral recruitment process which is helping to improve on talent management and therefore your attrition rates?
I’d like you to share your views on the two big R’s - and other topics in HR. This blog is another way for the HR community to interact, and I hope you’ll play your part. T ...

Beament Leslie Thomas is one of the UK's leading niche, specialist recruiters. We work in the areas of Management Consultancy, Direct and Indirect Tax, Company Secretarial and Human Resources. Introduce a friend or colleague to us and, when we find them a new role, we'll send you an iPod or a case of wine with our thanks.
It's as simple as that.
If you're not sure who to speak to, you can start by exploring our specialist areas. ...

"It's so easy a five year old could do it." Blog, that is. Well, as we've given up employing child labour at BLT, I suppose I'll have to give it a try.
Hi. I'm Don Leslie and I welcome you to our BLTog. I imagine it's unlikely that serendipity brought you here, therefore I'm guessing you must be a BLT client, a candidate or someone I owe money to.
Why are we doing this? What you can expect to find here? At BLT we've always tried to be as open as possible, engaging with customers face-to-face, by 'phone, by newsletter….and now by blog. We'll use this dynamic medium to bring you our news, our views, and our job opportunities. We'll also explore ways to connect with clients, candidates and other BLT stakeholders. And with your participation, it will be a two-way communication channel.
Do you want to get involved? Click the comment link below, and let us know what you think about BLT, the recruitment sector, our decision to blog... or whatever. B ...
