Know Your Competitors Strength
2007-11-07 15:17:00
Knowing your competitor’s strengths and weaknesses is a major advantage to your organization. As your competitor advances and becomes stronger through innovation or strategy you may find your market share and profit margins diminished. In order to stay ahead of the game, implement proactive strategies, and implement improvements the Company must know what their competitors are doing. One way to maximize from the knowledge you have of your competitors is to do what they are not doing (Burrus, 2007). Once you are aware of their strategies, their product/service attributes, you should consider their positional strengths and then do what maximizes your position by considering the differentiation in your product/service.This differentiation can become highlighted in advertising and branding (Crain, 2007). When the Leadership Needs to Change
2007-11-07 08:31:00
There comes a time in just about every organizations life that the leadership needs to change. The stale and crusty old bread needs to be fed to the birds and a new loaf should be purchased. The question of when this is beneficial to the organization is confusing and grey. However, by focusing on a few key concepts it becomes easier to determine who should continue working and who should be replaced. There is a natural balance between youth and experience. When people are young they often have much more energy and will to fight for what needs to be done. However, their inexperience can lead them to many major mistakes that affect the organization. Likewise, with age comes wisdom. However, if the older and wiser person refuses to fight what is their purpose?Of course there are always those situations where people are incompetent. This has little to do with a person’s age. Organizations should be aware when such incompetence is seriously hindering their chances of growing and becoming ...

2007-11-06 12:57:00
Around the year of 2015 American’s world as they currently know it will changes dramatically. To think about the concept of becoming #2 in the world makes people’s hair stand up on their back of their necks. The confidence of the Country is going to be shattered and a new psychological outlook will emerge. What will the country look like? The Economics of #2:A country in the #2 position has a marked disadvantage in terms of its ability to obtain advantageous trade agreements, business contracts and develop a lucrative business environment. One of the reasons why the business environment will become more difficult is because there is less leverage. The best contracts are reserved for the country in the #1 spot. The citizen of the #2 country may find that their money doesn’t purchase as much as it did in the past and this is due in part to the declining value of the dollar. When the dollar is deflated in price it purchases less bread, goods, and products. Therefore, the standard of ...

In Business You Need to Know When to Speak
2007-11-05 20:26:00
In a few terrible situations we have opened our mouths only to find that the boardroom, meeting or group has become peculiarly silent. With a few slight motions the more senior people change the topic and continue with the meeting. As fear overwhelms us that perhaps we spoke out of turn and our palms turn sweaty. Like scarred children we cross our feet under the table and vow not to say anything for the rest of the meeting. When this happens it is called “speaking out of turn” and it is as common today as it was in the days when elders ran villages. These social restrictions exist because of human nature and the need to keep society orderly. No matter how complex our society gets and no matter how much technology is available for people to beam their conversations across the world social restrictions exist because humans make up the center of society. You know you are speaking out of turn when everyone ignores what you are saying or they act hostile to you opening your mouth. These r ...

How Companies are Stealing Your Money and Rights?
2007-11-04 22:31:00
American consumers are losing their rights. They are being squeezed between large corporations on one side and the credit agencies on the other. Consumers who have disputes have little to no place to turn in trying to protect their rights or the erosion of their purchasing power. They are finding that companies are forcing them into contracts they don’t want and into poor credit situations and the government doesn’t help.Let us say that you are not getting the service you want from your bank, cell Phone Company or just about every other service out there. There are few protections for consumers who fall a foul of the self-appointed policies of the companies they purchase products from. They are left with hefty bills, bad credit and being cheated all the way around. If you have used the banking system and ran low in your account you may have noticed that banks take out the highest value debits first so that they can charge you as many fees as possible and bounce more transactions. Yo ...

2007-11-04 15:12:00
You might be surprised that Americans really don’t live as well as people in other countries. We are ranked number 15 according to most economists and we have major problems brewing in our current social class structure. The American society is declining in terms of its ability to be the Country of endless opportunities. In the world countries like Ireland, Belgium Canada, Japan, Norway and the United States were the top countries to live. The onrush of technology largely explains the gradual development of a "two-tier labor market"... Since 1975, practically all the gains in household income have gone to the top 20% of households... The rise in GDP in 2004 and 2005 was undergirded by substantial gains in labor productivity. Long-t ...

2007-11-04 11:44:00
A new tax system proposed last week will increase overall taxes by 6 to 10%. Those who earn $500,000 or more will be hit hardest by the tax bill proposed by House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Range. There are a number of reasons why Charles Range proposed the tax bill and it appears to make sense. The change may reflect the overall new realities of the economy and the demographic responsibilities of the rich. The Changes:Those who earn a million dollars or more currently pay 18% of all federal taxes but that number will rise to 20%. Likewise those who earn $500,000 to $1,000,000 will move from 6.7 % to 7.1%. Those who make between $100,000 to $200,000 will see a drop from 25.4% to 24.3%. Most of the 86 million households would get a tax cut in 2008 and 3.6 million households will pay more taxes. Lower income houses will get more tax credits and the Alternative Minimum Tax may be repealed (AMT). The AMT was originally designed to encourage the wealthy to pay their taxes and ...
