Sine Qua Non
2007-03-15 12:24:41
Sine qua non is a Latin phrase which means 'without which not.' In other words, it is the essential element or the indispensable element, without which you have not. Discipline is the sine qua non for almost all of success. Discipline is the ability to make myself do what must be done, even when I do not feel like doing it. It is making a world of difference in my life and business. How about you? <:))))><< ...
Blocking
2007-03-14 07:36:14
Am placing a high priority on "blocking" periods of time for my phone work. This has been a great need for my business. It is so easy to get busy placing ads on internet sites and working to build the business through online means. It is not a waste of time. But it is not the most productive activity available to me. So, 'a dialin' we shall go....... <:))))><< ...
Multiple Skills
2007-03-13 08:07:50
Multiple Skills for the 21st Century by Jim Rohn I believe that in this 21st Century it is so important to have multiple skills. But what I also find is that if you are already in sales, network marketing or have an entrepreneurial business (or plan to in the future); you can gain the needed skills for the future while you create your income now. Here's my short list for on the job training, so that you can learn while you earn. 1) SALES I began my journey with sales, which of course dynamically changed my life back at age 25. The first year I multiplied my income by five. I was raised in farm country. I knew how to milk cows, but it didn't pay well. But sales altered the course of my life, learning to present a valid product in the marketplace, talk about its virtues and get somebody to say "yes." And then give them good service. 2) RECRUITING Then came recruiting, how to expand my business, build an organization. We have all heard the question, is it better to have o ...
Create Large Chunks Of Time
2007-03-12 17:47:46
Create Large Chunks of TimeBy: Brian Tracy This strategy requires a commitment from you to work at scheduled times on large tasks. Most of the really important work you do requires large chunks of unbroken time to complete. Your ability to create and carve out these blocks of high value, highly productive time, is central to your ability to make a significant contribution to your work and to your life. Start Immediately On Number OneSuccessful salespeople set aside a specific time period each day to phone prospects. Rather than procrastinating or delaying on a task that they don't particularly like, they resolve that they will phone for one solid hour between 10 and 11 AM and they then discipline themselves to follow through on their resolutions. Many business executives set aside a specific time each day to call customers directly to get feedback. Create Specific Amounts of Time Some people allocate specific 30-60 minute time periods each day for exercise. Many people read in ...

Some troubles come from wanting our own way; others come from being allowed to have it. ? Unknown The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience. -- Eleanor Roosevelt "Self discipline is the ability to make yourself do what you should do when you should do it, whether you feel like it or not." -- Unknown It is never too late to be what you might have been. ? Thinking Out Of The Box
2007-03-10 08:50:02
Brian Tracy Improve the Quality of Your Thinking Human beings are mental organisms. Everything we are or ever will be, will be as the direct result of the way we think. If we improve the quality of our thinking, we must improve the quality of our lives. And, there is no other way to do it. Youth and Creativity In one series of I.Q. tests given to children ages 2 - 4 years, 95% of the children were found to be highly creative with curious, questioning minds and an ability for abstract thinking. When the same children were tested again at age 7, only 5% still demonstrated high levels of creativity. In the ensuing years, they had learned to conform; "If you want to get along, you had better go along," is what they had discovered. The Dangers of Conformity They had learned to color between the lines, to sit in neat little rows, to do and say what the other kids did and said, and to do as they were told. Over time, they lost the wonderful fearless spontaneity of youth a ...

A man said to his wife one day, "I don't know how you can be so stupid and so beautiful all at the same time." The wife responded, "Allow me to explain it to you. God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me; God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you!" :-)<:))))><< ...

The Importance Of Mental Fitness
2007-03-07 10:43:03
The Importance of Mental Fitness By: Brian Tracy The Hard Work of Selling Selling is hard work. It is one of the most difficult jobs in our economy. As a salesperson, you face continual rejection, potential failure, persistent disappointment, setbacks, obstacles and difficulties not experienced by most people. Selling is not easy and it has never been easy. It never will be easy. It will always be varying degrees of difficult, from hard to very hard, to very, very hard. And to be successful in selling you must be tough, as well. Your Attitude Makes the Difference In selling, your attitude is probably eighty percent of your success. Your attitude is the outward expression of everything that you are, and everything that you have become over the course of your lifetime. Your attitude has the greatest single impact on the people that you deal with. The development of a positive mental attitude is the indispensable requirement for great success in your field. Eat that Frog! - Part 3
2007-03-05 05:00:00
Middle of last week, I posted an article by Brian Tracy entitled "Eat That Frog." And as I thought about the article, it occurred to me that I should take the advice to heart. My "frog" is making massive amounts of calls to prospects. It is easy to get busy posting ads on internet sites and never quite have enough time to make the calls. I switched things around and everything else turned around as well. Suddenly people are looking at the opportunity and some are getting involved. There are people to follow up with and people to sign up. I am so grateful for that article. What a difference it has made. This week is going to be busy in  a great way. So, you got a frog to eat? Get after it. You will be glad you did. I am thinking about seconds.......<:))))><< ...

"And Where Were You?"
2007-03-03 05:00:00
In the early days of World War II, Winston Churchill called Britain's coal miners together... A great crisis had arisen. The miners were not getting out enough coal to fuel the factories that produced the planes, ships, etc., so desperately needed. When the Prime Minister arose he said, "I want to give it to you straight--nothing! Two hundred guns, no more! Twenty tanks, that's all! I heard he (Hitler) was coming with a million men, and I said to myself, 'The British Navy will put five hundred thousand of them to the bottom of the channel, but what will we do with half a million of them ashore?'" For an hour and forty minutes he outlined the desperate situation confronting Britain. Then in stirring language he said, "When at last it is all over, we'll parade these streets again and as you go by people will call out, 'And where were you?' Someone will answer, 'I marched with the Eighth Army,' and someone else will say,' I was in the skies over Britain.' Ano ...
What Marriage Is About...
2007-03-02 05:00:00
What marriage is about ... He ordered one hamburger, one order of French fries and one drink. The old man unwrapped the plain hamburger and carefully cut it in half. He placed one half in front of his wife. He then carefully counted out the French fries, dividing them into two piles and neatly placed one pile in front of his wife He took a sip of the drink, his wife took a sip and then set the cup down between them. As he began to eat his few bites of hamburger, the people around them kept looking over and whispering. You could tell they were thinking, "That poor old couple--all they can afford is one meal for the two of them." As the man began to eat his fries a young man came to the table. He politely offered to buy another meal for the old couple. The old man said they were just fine--They were used to sharing everything. The surrounding people noticed the little old lady hadn't eaten a bite. She sat there watching her husband eat and occasionally taking tur ...
Eat That Frog! - Part 2
2007-03-01 17:00:00
I have been motivated by Brian Tracy's article I posted a couple day ago. One of the great limitations of the home based business is the home based business person. Especially when it comes to picking up the 2 ton Gorilla (aka the telephone). It is so easy to use internet means to do our prospecting. I am not saying that the internet is not a good place to advertise and prospect; it is. However, the real growth of my business will only come when I eat that frog and get on the phone. Well, I have been on the phone. I have moved things forward greatly by dealing with my fear and doing it. Why did it take so long to get over it? ...
