RAM reliability tester - MemTest

MemTest is a RAM reliability tester. It evaluates the ability of yourcomputer's memory to store and retrieve data accurately. A correctlyfunctioning computer should be able to do both these tasks with 100%accuracy day in and day out. A computer that fails these tests, perhapsbecause of old hardware, damaged hardware, or poorly configuredhardware, will be less stable and crash more often. Even worse, it willbecome even less stable over time as corrupted data is written to yourhard disk. By running MemTest you can ensure that your computer's RAM is correctlyfunctioning. It is wise to test this when you buy a new computer,install new ram, or change the configuration of your machine (forinstance, to overclock it). If you are the sort of user who likes topush the performance of your machine to the edge, relying upon whetheryour machine will boot after your new BIOS tweaks is a poor way todetermine the safety of your new settings. The device works by sending out a powerful radiosignal that overwhelms cell phones so that they cannot communicate withcell towers. The gadgets cost around $100 to $1,000 or more, withlarger models that can be left on to create a no-call zone. However, using the jammers is illegal in the US,since the radio frequencies used by cellphone carriers are legallyprotected by the government, similar to the protected frequencies usedby television and radio broadcasters. There is a new reason for the 76 million baby boomers to grab a glassof milk. Vitamin D, a key nutrient in milk, could have aging benefitslinked to reduced inflammation, according to a new study published inthe American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. British and American researchers found that higher vitamin D levelswere linked to improved genetic measures of lifelong aging and chronicstress. Using a genetic marker called leukocyte telomere length (LTL),they found those with the highest vitamin D levels had longer LTL,indicating lower levels of inflammation and body stress.
