Nissan GT-R Will Be At Melbourne
2008-02-04 06:17:41
Today Nissan Australia announced that the new Nissan GT-R will make its Australian debut, with the JDM model on display at this years Melbourne Motor Show. No information on the Australian spec GT-R, or any variants of the GT-R, is available at this time. ...
Toyota to Revive Celica GT-4?
2008-02-04 05:48:50
Rumors have been flying about a new performance oriented Toyota sports car hitting the performance scene for a considerable time now, from an AE86 revival to a new Supra, but perhaps no one expected news that these shadowy rumors would coalesce into the forgotten Celica GT-4. The last model Celica. Will we see styling cues from this? But perhaps even more surprising is the rumor that the car will be engineered to a large degree by Subaru. In November Toyota confirmed rumours of a new sports car and Celica replacement, with the sports car being a collaboration between Subaru and Toyota, and now it seems the car is the performance model of the Celica line. However, the new car will not come with a Toyota bred turbo four in the tradition of the (somewhat) underpowered motor of the old model - instead it’s going to be carrying a Subaru Boxer turbo, most recently seen in the all grown up Subaru Impreza WRX STi. The new model is said to come in two distinct performance variants. Fi ...
Nissan R35 GT-R Can Be Imported to Australia!
2008-01-23 00:46:07
According to Prestige Motorsport, the new R35 GT-R can now be imported legally under SEVS! However, compliance is as far as 12 months away (2009), and prices are expected to exceed AU$100,000 for the new Nissan supercar. Regardless, this is a big fist in the eye of Nissan Australia, as enthusiasts will now be able to grab the new car directly from the JDM without Nissan Australia’s interference! Video: Nissan R35 GT-R vs Porsche 997 Turbo @ Tsukuba
2008-01-15 05:45:13
Totally awesome. Watch the GT-R take the 997 to task around Tsukuba. All said and done, Nissan’s built great competition for the Euro’s with the new R35. Still, insane JDM car fan as I am, I would still take that sexy 997 for a drive. And maybe never come back   ...
Nissan R35 GT-R Spotted in WA!
2008-01-14 07:00:24
The awesome photographers over at CarAdvice have captured the second GT-R to land in Australia, belonging to an unknown (and well-to-do) enthusiast. Rumoured to cost around AU $150,000 (A very hefty premium even on the US $69K price-tag for the GT-R in the USA) the GT-R cannot be road registered in Australia, courtesy of Nissan Australia. Nissan Australia execs, we are glaring at you right now. Fix this debacle and let us import them, or bring them here! ...
Mitsubishi Concept RA Lands in Detroit!
2008-01-14 06:46:22
The Concept RA has appeared in Detroit looking like a cross between the new Lancer EVO and (perhaps) the latest generation USDM Mitsubishi Eclipse, or even an Audi TT. The strictly concept only (Sorry, guys and girls) Concept RA sports a 2.2 litre, DOHC 16-valve 150kw/201HP/420nm high output, clean burn diesel engine, as part of Mitsubishi’s new drive towards eco-friendly performance sports cars. In order to achieve low consumption while not sacrificing performance means the Concept RA features Mitsubishi’s proprietary MIVEC variable valve control technology, an all aluminum space frame, variable diffuser/variable geometry turbocharger, peizoelectric injector system and also sports some impact resistant, recyclable plastic resin panels as part of it’s construction. Environmental features include a new catalytic converter system that combines a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), NOx trap catalyst (NTC) and diesel particulate filter (DPF) in addition to the highly effi ...

Details: 2008 Mitsubishi Ralliart Lancer
2007-12-21 06:40:34
It turns out that Mitsubishi Europe has quietly released details on the Ralliart Lancer. Mitsubishi doesn’t state whether the Ralliart will be based on the 4door Lancer or the upcoming 5door hatch, however Carscoop states the USDM Ralliart will be based on 4 door lancer sedan, whereas Europe will get the 5 door hatch. Since Australia classically gets the closest equivalent on the JDM, we can expect to see the 4 door on our roads. The Ralliart is expected to run a detuned 177KW, 240PS version of the EVO X 2.0L, dual valve VVT turbo 4 cylinder. Coupled to this is the magnificent 6-speed Twin Clutch SST transmission, and AWD with Active Centre Differential and Active Yaw Control. The final form of the Ralliart in Australia is unknown, but given the competition between Subaru and Mitsubishi in this segment we can expect the Ralliart to slot firmly into position against the standard Subaru Impreza WRX - leaving the Evo X to tackle the WRX STi. Being somewhat given to fantasy here at IJ, ...
2008 Honda Inspire Lands Dec 21, 2007 in Japan
2007-12-20 08:28:32
Just in time for Christmas, Honda’s dropped the all new, 5th generation Inspire. The new Inspire features styling cues seen on the new USDM Accord, and a V6 3.5-liter i-VTEC engine featuring a Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) system. The VCM enables cylinder switching (based on driving conditions) between 6, 4 and 3 cylinders. The V6 produces 206kW (280PS) of power and 342N•m (34.9kg•m) of torque while maintaining emission levels 75% below 2005 Japanese government standards. Other features include Collision Mitigation Brake System (CMBS) ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) G-CON (G-force Control) technology VGR (variable steering gear ratio) Intelligent, dual fully automatic air conditioner (uses GPS information and a sunlight sensor to determine the direction and intensity of the sun’s rays and regulate temperature and air output accordingly.) HID (High Intensity Discharge) Headlights Unfortunately, the Inspire is only available in a 5 s ...

Be the First to Import a GT-R to Australia!
2007-12-18 03:01:52
Australian? Want the GT-R before it arrives here in 2010? Who doesn’t. Looks like J-Spec have just the thing. There’s a  catch though, this sexy black demon is Race Import only (You’ll need a Level 3 CAMS license)  for obvious reasons. But if money is no object and you want a brand new track car not yet seen in Australia, well, here’s just the thing.  Just be prepared to pull $152,000 out of that big fat wallet of yours. Suzuki A-STAR Concept
2007-12-13 06:08:06
Suzuki’s always been known for gutsy mini and Kei car production cars and concepts and the new Suzuki A-Star seems to be no compromise on that ethos. How much aggression can you cram into that little four-door? A lot, from it’s frowning headlight design and positively evil demon rear end, this new Concept is sure to be a favorite if it goes to production. Alto replacement? Swift replacement? Nothing is yet known what car in the makers mini car line up it will take, or if it will be a seperate model in it’s own right. Since we’re in fantasy mode, we’d love to see this with a nice 1.3L and turbo strapped on for good measure! ...
Video: Nissan GT-R Production
2007-12-08 03:10:33
Ohh you’re in for a treat. Check out this great video of the GT-R in production. And I bet you thought the GT-R was made by little ASIMO style robots. ...
Nissan GT-R Coming to Targa Tasmania
2007-12-08 02:50:51
We thought that Nissan was in the ‘considering’ stage where Targa Tasmania was concerned, something that they notoriously never get past. Apparently, we’re wrong according to the JDM car lovers over a JPCN. Nissan is actually bringing their new weapon to the event, and we couldn’t be happier. In an event dominated by various flavours of Porsche weapons, the new GT-R (may we remind you this is a car that used Porsches as a benchmark for GT-R development?) will be a welcome runner in the event and a big publicity move for Nissan. The GT-R will be piloted by Tony Alford and will be painted in pink, of all colours, a nod towards Alford’s major sponsor, Donut King. Though we heartily wish that nod was more a wink (say, a pink steering wheel?) it will be fantastic to see the GT-R finally land Down Under at the Targa next year. Next stop, a triumphant return to Bathurst for some much deserved Ford and Holden  bashing! [Source: JPCN ] ...
