22 si 23 septembrie 2007 - “Festivalul dintre blocuri”

Primaria sectorului 4 informeaza:
Centrul de Tineret al Bibliotecii Metropolitane in colaborare cu Primaria Municipiului Bucuresti (ARCUB), Primaria sectorului 4 si Autoritatea Nationala pentru Tineret organizeaza in zilele de 22 si 23 septembrie 2007 un eveniment de cultura urbana intitulat “Festivalul dintre blocuri”.
Evenimentul se va desfasura intre orele 11:00 si 22:00 in parcul aflat in spatele Palatului de Justitie, strada Justitiei, din sectorul 4 si se inscrie in Campania de cultura urbana “KARTIER”, initiata in urma cu doi ani.
Manifestarea va cuprinde concerte pop, dance, hip–hop si folk, sustinute de trupe tinere pe o scena amplasata in centrul parcului. Tot aici va avea loc un concurs de street dance la care vor lua parte trupe din diverse cartiere ale orasului. Pe toata perioada festivalului vor fi organizate numeroase concursuri si tombole, vor avea loc demonstratii de graffiti, concursuri de biking si street–ball, iar dupa ora 20:00 vor fi pr ...

World of Warcraft graffiti in China

I am pretty sure this isn’t a public relations action of Blizzard. But since I’ve been playing WoW too, I’m definitely sure this is a WoW Horde player’s drawing. What we have here is a called a troll shaman.
I have a night elf rogue (Ucigasa) and a gnome warlock (Ucilock). They are both Alliance (the opposing faction for Horde).
Even so … I do like how how this troll shaman is painted :)

Eric Clapton - $120,000 for 12 graffiti paintings by Lee Quinones

This week news broke that Eric Clapton shelled out $120,000 to buy twelve paintings by legendary graffiti artist Lee Quinones; each work depicts a shoplifter grabbing an album from the Seventies, including James Brown’s Sex Machine and the Isley Brothers’ Get Into Something. The guitarist’s apparent love of graffiti art dates back at least a decade, when he attended a London show that featured Quinones and fellow train-to-canvas artists Stash and Futura. Clapton bought a few pieces and commissioned the artists to paint guitars for his concerts. So when Quinones was looking to sell his collection, he sent e-mails to Clapton and other famous fans of his work, like Debbie Harry and the Beastie Boys. But before he could fire off the next round to Jay-Z and Russell Simmons, Clapton responded. “He was the first. Like within ten minutes.
